My Collection of Modern Disney Princesses.

Tiana (2009)

Rapunzel (2010)

Merida (2012)

Unfortunately I don't have Anna & Elsa yet to complete my collection, but I will get them one day. ;)

Tiana is a Mattel Tiana wearing a 2009 Disney Store Tiana gown, gloves and headpiece. I have added Signature Snow White's underskirt and now her dress looks as puffy as it should ! ^_^

Pearlescent pumps from Mattel, handmade pearl necklace and earrings and a long white net veil, sprinkled with green glitter.

Rapunzel is a Mattel Rapunzel with the first facesculpt (that I loved). She has light freckles painted on her nose and cheeks that you can only see in a close up (like in the movie ;) ). She is wearing a 2010 Disney Store Rapunzel dress that I modified a little, by adding lace on the part where the top connects to the skirt in order to make it more movie accurate.

Merida is Classic Merida by Disney Store. She was perfect I just recurled her hair to make her more wild.

Do you like them? :)

Pearlescent ~ Iridescent flash Motorbike...

@Newlands Corner - Merrow - Guildford -Surrey -UK

This rectangle plastic jar is filled with origami stars! A mix of pretty pinks - solid hot pink, shiny pink, and pearlescent pale and dark pinks! 42 stars in all! White ribbon with little pink stars and LULLABY printed on it surrounds the top edges of the jar. Would be a great gift for a baby shower or little girl!

Probably not heavy enough to be a useful paper weight, but would be a cute addition to any desk or car, and is small enough to carry in your purse - take your lucky rainbow with you wherever you go! Approximately 1.25 x 1.25 x 2.7 inches in size.

Before I even began designing the invitation set, I started with a moodboard as usual to make sure the client is on board with the design direction. This wedding is in November, she had fall-like colors, but she didn't want an Autumn, leaf theme. She wanted to embrace certain rustic elements, but rather communicate elegance, sophistication and have it be warm + inviting for her guests. And my design solution to her visual concerns was "An Enchanted November" wedding theme.

For the invitation, the key defining element that will be branded across all wedding components is the "H" monogram which stands for the groom's last name. To make it as unique as possible for Stephanie + Justin, I deconstructed the letter "H" by replacing the connecting bar with a graphic branch. I created depth and interest by playing with rich, deep gradients composed of the mocha + cranberry hues. The 11.11.11 date is written in a classy, but in a not-so-stuffy script typeface below the monogram in the invitation set.

The main invite is a one-folded card with a loose, self mailer RSVP card. For the typography, I wanted it to be soft + bold, and have it flow + move by using different opacity levels. Also, I broke it up by having the information across two pages.

Printing Specs: One-folded Card + Response Card were 4C/4C, Digital on Citi Paper USA, Autumn Hay, 98C weight paper. Adhesive label was also 4-Color, Digital, but printed on standard adhesive paper that wasn't iridescent for cost efficiency.

No printing on the chocolate A7 envelope as per the original design; client opted for addressed labels where she could get custom calligraphy done in chocolate ink. Also, I provided the client with the "H" monogram art file so she could get custom matching stamps.

I found Madame Rosinka's crystal ball in the deep. It appears she lost it overboard. When I stare deeply into it, I see... I see... I see... more diving in my future! Seriously this is a Sea Pearl or Sailor's Eye. It is a giant single celled algae (Valonia ventricosa) that has an amazing pearlescent sheen. This one was over an inch across.

This one-of-a-kind resin cube charm bracelet features an original pencil illustration of a Kawaii cute character -- a handrawn fawn -- embedded inside. The character is from the "The Pied Piper's Song" story I created where a deer was led down the snowy forest path by a merry tune and a icy rainbow filled with treats.

Bracelet is made of White Pearlescent Miyuki teardrop fringe beads. Fringe Beads are beads with holes running across the top of the bead in the shape of raindrops. Bracelet wrist measures approximately 7.5". Sterling silver toggle clasp. The rectangular resin cube measures 1.5".

Exhibited at the 1900 Paris World’s Fair (Louis Comfort Tiffany won a grand prize and received the French Legion of Honor); the bowl was owned by Henry O. Tiffany termed this glass Favrile, after the Latin "fabrilis" (hand made).

This figure is of Nono Nekomiya, a character from the eroge Yotsunoha by Hiqo-Soft. She is around 24cm in height. Her sukumizu is the Old-Type with a brand tag.

Her swimsuit, stockings, ribbons and bells are painted with pearlescent paint. There's not much else to say; this is one of the most popular sukumizu figures, for good reason.

There is a variant of this figure available featuring a white sukumizu.

Title: The Power of WE

Theme: Community

Materials: Cotton fabric, pearlescent acrylic ink, acrylic paint, cotton thread, cotton batting, ribbon yarn (binding).

Did you enjoy working on this project? I used a whole cloth technique with calligraphy that I've been wanted to try, so I enjoyed it very much.

About: I think if we stopped seeing the world as a competition between "us" and "them" and realized that WE are all in this together, we could have heaven on this earth. The words are my own.

Deboxing the Designer SQ Elsa and Hans Doll Set. Prince Hans has been fully deboxed. He is posed free standing.

I have finally deboxed the Designer Fairytale Snow Queen Elsa and Hans Doll Set (2015). My set is #4597 of 6000. It was the only set that I didn't get at the Disney Store raffle, so I had to order her online. I show the set boxed, during deboxing and fully deboxed. After deboxing them, I place them back on their display stand, in a different pose.

I was a little surprised that Elsa has the body construction of the 2012 DS Classic Princess dolls, so has external hinged knee joints and ankle joints. It makes her legs a bit unsightly when they are exposed by opening the slit of the skirt. She has shiny pearlescent skin that is similar to the Harrods Elsa doll, but doesn't have the heavy blush. Her Snow Queen outfit also has embellishments that are more similar to that of the Harrods Elsa rather than that of the LE 2500 Snow Queen Elsa. But rather than the jeweled snowflakes of the 17'' LE Elsa she has single clear rhinestones throughout her braid, and a few on her head. The snowflake and icicle design in her cape are printed rather than embroidered (as in the 17'' LE Elsas) or glittered (as in the Classic Elsa). They are flat and smooth, and I don't think are as effective in depicting ice.

The major embellishments of Designer Hans over Classic Hans are the addition of white gloves, and a sword. However, It's disappointing that there is no scabbard for the sword - it is loosely sewn to his pants legs, which looks rather cheap.

I will show the dolls in side by side comparisons to other Elsa and Hans dolls in future postings.

Nomia maneii. Rare sand loving bee from Maryland. The Nomia group has lots of taxonomically similar characteristics but, to the eye, the facet that often hits you in the face are pearlescent bands of white to blue to green (just like abalone sometimes) on the abdomen. In the case of N. maneii, blue. Otherwise this particular species can be found in sandy spots and as a general pattern many of this group are in open often desert areas. Photos taken by Orr Uzan-Tidhar (visiting from College of the Atlantic) and Grace Schilling (new technician) who are learning the trade.
