There are over 200 stars in this jar!!! These took several hours to fold!

The stars are in a rainbow of colors, some translucent, some pearlescent, some metallic! Purple, blue, yellow, green, orange, and pink in many different shades! The jar is a pretty tear drop shape, and the stars look just beautiful in there! A tiny flower adorns the lid of the jar, and a gorgeous butterly flutters on the front of the jar!

Jar is approximately 8 inches tall and 2.5 inches acoss at the widest point / 7 inches around.

This baby card is made by Rita. The beads are placed in a shaker box that has been made according the stamp. De Graph background from Hero Arts is so unique because you can easily make an assorting background paper with it.

Stamps: Hero Arts (S5433 Large Canvas Stripes, S5435 Graph Background) - Artemio (ARTHG196 Kinderwagen)

Ink: Versafine (Vintage Sepia)

Paper: cardstock 250gr (Pearlescent Ecru, Brown)

Negative silicone molds, cast from the positive master under vacuum, are seen on the left.

Their unusual color is due to a glittery, pearlescent pigment added as a ghetto "mold versioning" indicator. The molds are then used to cast final plastic parts using an engineering-grade, tough polyurethane resin (Huntsman RenPIM 5219) that combines high hardness (85 Shore D), flexural strength (100 MPa), and flexural modulus (3 GPa), closely simulating ABS.

Final parts are shown on the right, along with a full set of "no cut" components used to assemble the gearbox: two 2 mm dowel pins (10 and 14 mm tall), three 2 mm screws, one 6 x 10 x 2.5 mm VXB ball bearing, and a flat Mabuchi RF-300FA-12350 motor (3500 RPM @3V, 6800 RPM @6V). This motor offers very quiet operation, low power consumption, and relatively high stall torque compared to many alternatives with a more traditional aspect ratio.

Fun fact: vacuum casting rules out the possibility of air getting trapped in very thin and complex sections of the mold (e.g., between teeth in gears), which obviously helps a lot in this case. Doing so in open air is not impossible, but requires a lot of patience, and even then can be hit-and-miss.

Apologies for crappy lighting.

Deboxing the Designer SQ Elsa and Hans Doll Set. Prince Hans has been fully deboxed. He is posed free standing.

I have finally deboxed the Designer Fairytale Snow Queen Elsa and Hans Doll Set (2015). My set is #4597 of 6000. It was the only set that I didn't get at the Disney Store raffle, so I had to order her online. I show the set boxed, during deboxing and fully deboxed. After deboxing them, I place them back on their display stand, in a different pose.

I was a little surprised that Elsa has the body construction of the 2012 DS Classic Princess dolls, so has external hinged knee joints and ankle joints. It makes her legs a bit unsightly when they are exposed by opening the slit of the skirt. She has shiny pearlescent skin that is similar to the Harrods Elsa doll, but doesn't have the heavy blush. Her Snow Queen outfit also has embellishments that are more similar to that of the Harrods Elsa rather than that of the LE 2500 Snow Queen Elsa. But rather than the jeweled snowflakes of the 17'' LE Elsa she has single clear rhinestones throughout her braid, and a few on her head. The snowflake and icicle design in her cape are printed rather than embroidered (as in the 17'' LE Elsas) or glittered (as in the Classic Elsa). They are flat and smooth, and I don't think are as effective in depicting ice.

The major embellishments of Designer Hans over Classic Hans are the addition of white gloves, and a sword. However, It's disappointing that there is no scabbard for the sword - it is loosely sewn to his pants legs, which looks rather cheap.

I will show the dolls in side by side comparisons to other Elsa and Hans dolls in future postings.

This was in a beautiful Pearlescent colour.

A car dealer I knew a few years ago (well, about 10-12 years ago) I remember had a Quattro as his own personal car which was also in this Pearlescent white, with a grey leather interior. When he sold it, I think it went down south somewhere. I think the registration of it was D333 PGH. Nothing comes up for that number on DVLA, Cartell or Ebay, so either I'm wrong or that number has been taken off the Audi and now doesn't belong to a car (retention?). Either way, I hope the car still exists. I think it was a nice one.

A Tiffany Broach or Snowflake? Pearls, Diamonds, Sapphires of several colors, opals. Or Frozen Water? Of course I’m a poor photographer not able to afford the former and have to work the later. I think this happened by a partially melted the refrozen flake. Photographers notes. There are any number of macro lenses out there […]

The base of this bead is a pale brown or amber clear glass; when I applied the silver-rich glass on top of it, the glass became a pale, almost pearlescent colour which reflect light through the core and makes it appear to have a golden glow, hence the name "Golden Dragonskin".

RMZ City 1/64 models still remain rare here in the U.K. but thanks to the AliExpress website I have been able to obtain their Juniors range extremely cheaply and remarkably quick delivery too! Its a fairly big range all of which are licensed castings and thus are nicely accurate and well detailed. They have modelled the pretty Toyota 86 which looks pretty crisp in this pearlescent white finish even if it does forgo an interior due to its budget status, the Juniors name indicating this is the basic range in the RMZ City pecking order. Mint and boxed.

My eighteen basic designs for the current buttons. In reality, there are multiple variations on each; inverted, metallic, pearlescent, glow-in-the-dark, etc. Check 'em out at the merchandise table!

72 is a Scania CN94UB Omnicity. It was purchased new by Ipswich Buses in 2007 as a batch of 6 for service 13 where it has seen most of its operational life. It wore a pearlescent green paintjob initially before being repainted into 2 standard variants of the companies livery. 70 is powered by a DC9 engine coupled to a ZF Ecomat gearbox.

The Shadownlands Collection is based on science fiction stories by Dyan Bender.

The second character in the collection is Fyre, whose secret name is Ardala. She is the adopted daughter of a wealthy Healer and direct descendant of the last ruler of what is often called the Great City.

She is a Highborn, a race the developed from Human close intermarriage of the ruling families. Thru centuries of narrowed bloodlines a race of physically beautiful and mentally gifted people consolidated power. Marked physically by extremely pale pearlescent skin and blazing red hair with oddly metallic quality. Highborn are marked by a drive to acquire power and are gifted with something other races call Charisma.

Ardala is young, she has gained her full height but is still not filled out completely. She has been able to pass as a boy for years. Her eyes are blue, the warm blue of shallow seas, and bright with curiosity and good humor. Although wealthy now for many years she and her mother moved often and she has learned to easily adapt to new locations...she enjoys learning about new people, customs and cultures. She is gentle, and her gentle nature shows in her expression. She completely lacks the imperious and commanding nature that typically marks Highborn, but she is just starting to understand that she has personal power, she is starting to learn that she can command the attention of others.

She wears her silk finery, wide pants of teal silk that were left a bit short in the ankles in her last growth spurt; silk slippers encrusted with brass sequins; a silk chiffon vest draping over her young shoulders with fine brass chains; a bra heavily embellished with tiger eye gems, brass and gold, forming hawk motives that symbolize and foreshadow her soaring potential. Her hips, neck and intricately braided hair are adorned with gold chains.

The doll is a Andro Inamorata Nnaji in Milk skintone.

This is a commissioned bespoken OOAK doll and not for sale.

Picked up an old MB-2 with biplane fork a while back for Grace.

Stripped it and had it powdered a dark pearlescent gray, then built it up with a wide double, big mountain cassette, downtube-turned-bar-end shifters, rack and 'stache bars.

Fenders to come.

Thanks for looking! :-)

A two-piece design, again stemming from my son wanting me to make something for him. I quite like the form of this crab. Despite the apparent simplicity, it involves some complex folding. The surface of the paper was finished with a combination of acrylic inks, pearlescent inks, and acrylic medium.

From a hexagon of Jeff's Tyvek.

A new design I'm working on.

Wednesday was Tyvek day !

A guy from the postoffice brought me a tube containing some big sheets I ordered from Jeff Rutzky(thanks!) and a thick A4 enveloppe full of samples, courtesy of DuPont Europe.

So here are my first observations about Tyvek.

Rather nice to fold, holds a crease well, caution when reversing creases. Probably not suitable for hypercomplex models.

The pearlescent coating on some sheets from the Graphics line is very appealing.

Jeff's sheets have a slighly uneven thickness, but I can live with that.

Grammages are confusing, surely they are exact, but a 110 g/m2 Tyvek seems more thick when you fold it compared to an elephant hide same grammage.

The above model benefits from a final wet-shaping to look more like something vegetal, flower or leafs. I'm planning to tessellate it on EH.

Another try with the pearlescent base mixed with black ink. I quite like the shiny finish.

The interior of the limited-edition Sandero Black Touch features pearlescent black interior appointments, such as the central fascia surround, steering wheel trim and door grab handles which contrast elegantly with the chrome door handles themselves.

OE-INC GL5T Global Jet Austria (departing 23 in GVA). This aircraft has a unique pearlescent/iridescent paint coat (ChromaFlair variant probably). Its colours vary from the angle you look at it and from where the light comes from. Stunning!

It currently flies with callsign Gobal Austria 92 November Charlie (GLJ92NC).

He has a lovely pearlescent dark green finish with black wings.
