i thought this photo came out pretty cool. I really like the little house in the tree line.

My #1 fav "tool" when traveling is the Fujifilm Instax Mini Evo. It is the coolest looking instamastic film camera! But, when traveling, especially abroad, it is the quickest way to connect with fun local people. Despite having some success with my business and staying in 5-Star locations, I consider myself a working man and like to connect with people that work so hard to make everyone ELSES life really pleasant. 100% of everyone staff person at met at the Aruba Ritz Carlton was super friendly and helpful. So, I took some pics and gave them prints. The last people photo epitimizes my fav part of travel. I like clowning with people. So, these couples had to park their rental car because the road was so rough. I could see they were only 40 meters away from their car but asked them if wanted wanted a ride in my obscene super jeep...😂 They were from Amsterdam and we had a nice chat and then I took this photo to give them. In a micro second, we created a memory. This camera is so great for that!

When I was a young girl, I always want to be a painter.. but because of lack of talent, I just stop at that.. then I started to develop my passion for abstract painting.. just looking at them makes me feel dizzy in my own little world.. but of course Im just admiring people's work because I have no talent whatsoeva for the abstract painting.. So now Im trying to imitate that in photography..

This is taken during the 3rd KL Flickr Meetup which was held at Bukit Bintang Area in KL. It was pretty successful I shall say, considering the number of new people who turned up..

An orange ladybug I found on a squash leaf on a vacant lot behind my wife's parent's house... I never thought that these things had hairs on them.

The soaring Victorian cast iron arches of York railway station roof.

 

The first station, on a site adjacent to the current one, was built in 1839. It was a terminus. This is a through station almost exactly half-way between London and Edinburgh.

 

This roof is functional too. While keeping out the rain, there is a gap (celestory) between the iron arches and the outer glass panels to allow smoke and steam to escape from the (then) steam locomotives and keep the passengers dry.

Classical mill designs are usually water powered, though some are wind mills, or powered by livestock. A sluice gate is used to open a channel and so start the water flowing and a water wheel turning. In most such mills the water wheel was mounted vertically (i.e. edge-on) in the water, but in some cases horizontally (the tub wheel and so-called Norse wheel). Later designs incorporated horizontal steel or cast iron turbines and these were also sometimes refitted into the old wheel mills.

This original, not reproduction, western movie poster is in great condition. It has only a few spots toward the top right and a small rip toward the top left as seen in the photos. Otherwise, it has no folds or tears. I love the tag line on this one "He was sworn to uphold the law...even if that meant gunning down his own kid brother!" And the font for the title in bold red pops! I also love the positioning of the gun "dead" center! Start your collection of movie posters with one from 1964 when westerns ruled the movie screens!

This little guy was looking rather comfy and cute. Thought his expression was rather tender and curious.

This is a sample of lithium borate glass with gold nanoparticles that I made last summer. Gold's the reason that the glass darker. I love the effect of the bubbles left from slow cooling of the melt in a platinum crucible.

I photographed this after a wedding reception held at the London Marriot, Canary Wharf on Saturday.

 

This is what the building in my last picture looks like when seen from the distance.

 

I post-processed this one with an alien skin exposure plugin by modifying one of the default plugins and mixing the colors in the following ratio (red 100%, Blue 65% Green -65%).

 

PhotoShop Elements doesn't have a Channel Mixer so I couldn't resist the urge to go a bit crazy when presented with a plugin that allows me to do this.

 

Alien Skin Exposure is available as a 30 day demo and I am about 5 days through mine so there might be some more crazy ideas in the next few weeks (some will work, some will fall flat).

"650 lbs of dry dog and cat food, 271 blankets, 10 flats of canned Innova dog and cat food, case of Innova treats, 14 cases of meaty bone treats, giant box of Kong and nylabones toys estimated $350, still have $200 in large kongs shipment pending (90), 5 gallon tub of new leashes and collars, many nice from Phydeaux, 29 cat beds, A back breaking 324lbs of kitty litter, 8 wire crates, 24 kitty transport carriers, dewormer, capstar and medicated shampoo for demodex. Laila Ali had 14 BarkBoxes and Elle the Pit Bull brought hers too, add two 10 gallon tubs of felt tugs, toys, and another dang 250lbs of Old Roy, and 32 jars of peanut butter and Laila had a grilled CHEEZ sammich beg off that we are still reeking natural gas from, looks like $7300 in donations for Cat Banjo Act 1.

 

Representatives from Orange County Animal Services, Rescue Ur Forever Friend, and Promoting Animal Welfare in NC left with vehicles packed full. And we even had enough supplies to send homes some blankets to keep the the puppies warm, rescued by Pawfect Match Rescue and Rehabilitation.

 

Sequel Act 2 to follow Sunday, all donations benefitting The Animal Protection Society of Durham and WCAS via Friends of Wake County Animal Center and Suzie Wolf Photography. I have coupons printed, and off to fill my car with the gift cards many of you so generously donated now that I can see what we may have more needs for. My car is loaded with supplies, we know we have a generous crowd coming out to Cat Banjo this Sunday from 1-4pm to complete the drive. If you were not about to make it out last night, hope you can come out on Sunday! Even if you're not in a position to donate, meeting all the gorgeous pups and seeing the magic of kindness in generosity for our local shelters, we promise you'll leave with a smile! This was taken at Botanica in Wichita, Kansas, USA this past weekend. They have an area full of butterflies and flowers. The girls had a great time trying to get butterflies to land on their fingers.

Shot Twice, once by gun , then by camera. Really poisonous. Let us see some reactions flickr wide. I think it is a good thing happened to this poor lizard as in some way, it is immortalized. If i had not taken this shot last year, i would have ulpoaded a more closer view for texture competition.

Note: This specie is found in abundance in Pakistan, and still there are no rules reagrding protection of this specie. So, animal right activist need not to rais noise.

Everyday I see things changing where I live. More forests being devistated to make way for wider roads, more houses, more strip malls, etc... It drives me crazy! So, this is our escape: A small, simple, low-key resort on the Mayan Rivera in Mexico. My husband and I have been blessed to be able to frequent this place for the past 13 years. It has changed hands a couple of times, but has virtually remained the same. I would say that 70 to 80% of the phenominal employees have remained the same since the resort opened about 14 years ago. They are like a family and most of them remember our names and seem genially happy to see us everytime we visit. They work extremely hard and are always smiling. This resort is small in size, but is situated on a lot of land, so you feel like there is never anyone on top of you. It sits so far off of the road and into the jungle, that if you stay in this resort on this wide expanse of beach, you will not hear or see a car. We love it! Yet, money talks. Palace Resorts (a timeshare company) has recently put a contract on this resort. The management is afraid that that Palace resorts will eventually tear up the jungle surrounding the resort and fill the land with condos. It sickens me to think of it. We are praying that for some reason the deal will never be closed. But I am afraid that if Palace Resorts does not buy it then someone else will come along with the same intentions. I am told the resort is selling for $50 million. So, maybe one of you who appreciates hidden gems like these has an extra $50 mil burning a hole in your pocket.
