A HDR pix of my Nikes leaving the backgate & ready to go for a jog.

Today we took the girls to Riverside Park so they could play and I could take pictures.

if there is a photo to show how at peace i am right now, this would be it

Same day, different cows.

Messing with different ways to apply the HDR - this one's not so painterly, more like being there.

If you got this far, it's worth the extra step to view it large. There's some depth to wander around in.

This is an HDR image (like I really needed to say that).

Wasnt in my plan for this. Went to Midvalley Mega Mall for a birthday party. Since I always have my camera with me, I just decided to take a few shots.. but as you can see, I didnt really have a good location to shoot the photo.. and I didnt bring my zoom lense with me.. so.. enjoy..

and oh .. this was taken using expired film.. hence all the grainy effect.. but I like it anyway.

Taken at midvalley during fashion week.

Kite flying on plymouth hoe. It sums up freedom for me, perhaps because it is my favorite type of 'spur of the moment' shots (taken with my phone). Perhaps because it was because my good friend Jon was trying to land it on my head.

(btw - no cropping its au natural)

Taken at the Museum of Transport and Technology in Auckland. I simply pointed the camera into the "Infinity mirror" and got this using flash. I like being able to see the camera in the picture.

Lampost just after sunset with levels mucked around with in Photoshop. Whole thing looked quite alien in the end I thought.

I was able to leave the office before 6:00pm (GMT+9) on Sunday. Hurriedly went back to the camp to play badminton but found out that there was no more shuttlecock left.

I don't know why but sunset always fascinates me and i never have had enough of it.

So I went up the hill near the camp, instead, to wait for the sunset and admire its beauty while taking shots almost every minute, hoping that i could somehow capture its beauty....and here's one of the several attempts.

Iguazu from the Brazilian side.

The arc of this bow was well over 180 degrees. I just couldn't do it justice with my camera.

I kind of like the juxtaposition of the bright yellow mustard looking down on the dark, foamy sea below on this very foggy day.

This picture was taken at Long Point State Park on Cayuga Lake at sunset.

Best viewed large. These shots have been on flickr for a couple of months. But up in Maine spring starts a little later...

We are so proud of Molly, her mom & the awesome community that helped her collect all these goodies. The homeless animals at B.A.R.C Boone Animal Rescue Coalition and Kanawha Charleston Humane Association will be so happy!

#231 / 365 - #2423 / Year 7 - 15.10.2014

#Lovetober the 15th is "Pay It Forward". Random Acts of Kindiness/Pay It Forward are things that I try to do in everyday life anyway, so they "challenge" itself wasn't a challenge, but I did find it hard to think of an act that I could photograph... This pretty much happened by fluke. Paul bought a new fireplace for his living room, but when we got it back to his house it didn't fit the way he thought it would, so I told him about the fireplace that Malin and I made a few years ago, and he really loved the idea. We didn't know where we could get some wood from so that he could recreate it, but in a very "HUH?!" moment, about half an hour after our conversation about the fireplace, we drove past a huge pile of logs on the pavement going spare! So we bundled them into his car and lugged them into his back garden, so he can have a go at making a fireplace later. Hurrah!

In a book that came across the library desk where I volunteer "New Hampshire CURIOSITIES", this photo shows up with a write up on p. 58. It says this was built to protest the U.N. - I will try to find a link for you (the best I could find for now) www.nashuatelegraph.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/200612... Sorry this article doesn't seem to be available any longer so try this link for more info: roadsightrelics.com/2013/04/08/the-little-trojan-horse-an...

This same book also highlights my friend Dan Dustin as a "quirky character" and he says this is the 10th book to include him and his unusual craft. See Dan here www.flickr.com/photos/catchesthelight/291465390/ www.flickr.com/photos/catchesthelight/291465391/

jodie was taking part of a pay it forward project and i was one of the lucky 5 to receive something from her. now it is my turn to pay it forward to 5 people.

the idea is that you receive a handmade gift from someone and then you send handmade gifts (whatever you want it to be) on to five other people.

so if you would like to participate and receive something from yours truly, flickr mail me by the end of the day on friday (4/3). if there are more than 5 responses, i'll draw names to see who the lucky recipients will be. and then when those 5 receive their gift they pay it forward to 5 and so on. sounds like fun, doesn't it?

"4 The Tuxedo Man. Enjoy - Sweet Basil"

If you've lived in Manoa or in the area for any amount of time, you have probably seen the Tuxedo Man. He is a man, assumed to be homeless, who is always wearing a tuxedo. Recently he has been spending time in the latter evening hours eating his dinner at these tables (in the photo) right outside my office. Thai Sweet Basil is a restaurant across the way in the shopping center. That night someone felt compelled to do a nice thing and give him a special dinner.

..He didn't come that night. Oddly I haven't seen him since. I tried a few times to start a conversation, one time he actually spoke a few words to me. But after that when I would say 'goodnight' he seemed to just want to keep to himself.

This is all natural light, no flash. It was about 4:30 in the afternoon and she was in a tucked back area surrounded by plants growing on the walls. There was a building to her left that was partially blocking the sunlight from the top.
