I was inspired this afternoon by a card on a magazine and although this looks nothing like it, I liked the design. I love using up odds and ends of papers. The little tag that is popped up on the pp panel is a Hero Arts stamp. I just used the outline and covered the inside with pp. The two little butterflies were looking for a home, now they sit on a pink flower.. and the Thank You sentiment is HA as well.
created this card for this weeks PaperSmooches SPARKS sketch challenge :)
sentiment stamp is from Paper Smooches; patterned papers are from 4heures37

Hello there! A little page I made using the fab Dozens' "Dress Your Nest" September kit (which includes a stamp and custom paper I designed!) If I do say so myself, the cut-out furniture paper is so fun! :) And I just had to use the little plastic phone!! Thanks for peeking!
Tag Book Tutorial - If you make one, make sure to comment and link to your picture. This tag book is not my own design, I made it by looking at this tag book I received in a swap. It's very simple and it's a wonderful gift. ENJOY!
Step one - gather supplies: coordinated patterned paper, 2 brads, ribbon, 1 12X12(30X30) cardstock, and cardboard for the covers (I use backing from stickers or other scrapbooking products, as you can see in the picture). By the way, this is the most difficult part in this tutorial - choosing the paper! :-)

This is for Casual Fridays, I wonder whether it is CAS enough... anyway, had fun making it and using these papers. I just went for pretty..
I am one of those people who really enjoy Christmas. I enjoy it for many reasons, not least of all because I get to give gifts I have gathered throughout the year to my family and friends.
I shop for gifts all year around, and then hide them in places about the house where my partner won't find them (if they are for him) and in places out of the way for other recipients who might be visiting.
In the lead up to Christmas, my dining room becomes a wonderland of Christmas wrapping and trimmings which I joking call the Christmas Wrapping Bureau, as I usually end up wrapping all my partner's presents, and potentially my aged mother-in-law's gifts as well as my own. However another reason I like Christmas is that I love wrapping gifts, playing with ribbons and bright paper.
They are all done and are nestled under my tree, ready for Christmas Day!

This is an 'inspired by' card.
Pinterest is proving such an inspiration for designs. I thought this design would look pretty with the etched flower. Here is where my inspiration came from

This lady has such a beautiful blog too!
fyi.....the bunny picture is from my calendar and the musical notes
overlay is a scrapbook paper i have
2st birthday layout. paper pieced cupcake (that I drew). I also drew the blue frame. The teal hearts are covered with wrappers from lindt chocolates!
Wrapping presents this year for Christmas was fun ... rushed a bit ... but fun! Heavy snow on Christmas Eve and a couple of new Christmas music CDs set the mood.
There's nothing really fancy here, but I am pleased with how it all came together. I used scrapbooking paper to wrap some of the CDs, and I really like that idea. Scrapbook paper designers are creating some incredibly beautiful stuff. Why in the world they're not branching out with their designs into the Christmas gift wrap market is beyond me. I'd buy!!!
The other papers shown here came from The Container Store and Wal-Mart. I used a variety of embellishments to make things especially festive ... red and white spray-painted red oak leaves from the tree by my house ... gold spray-painted Bradford pear leaves that I picked up in a parking lot in town ... Fort Knox chocolate coins (big hit with the teenagers ... edible gift wrap!) ... and a mix of satin, sheer and wired ribbons that I purchased on sale here and there throughout the year.
The leaves were easily added by slipping their stems between the folds of ribbon just before I tightened the knots. The chocolate coins each have a small piece of double-sided tape affixed to the back. The possibilities of what you could stick on a package with that stuff are endless.
I am hopelessly addicted to the rich, warm colors of fall, so I always tend to use a palette of golds, reds, greens and browns when I start wrapping Christmas gifts, although I did branch out a little with some silver spray paint this year.
I've always avoided the cool blues, purples and pinks, but those scrapbook paper designers have opened my eyes to some new possibilities ... blues, browns and greens maybe? It's a good thing that I've got a year to think about it.
Remember that really great packaging doesn't have to be expensive. A plain brown gift bag, some twine, fall leaves from your yard and a heartfelt note in your unique handwriting might just end up on someone's bulletin board or in their keepsake drawer. Personal expressions that say, "You're special to me," have a habit of becoming permanent souvenirs. They're just way too rare in this world.
Let's change that!

So I am decorating for Thanksgiving this year. Here is one of the projects I have planned. You know how it is with plans... haha... but this one I actually accomplished. There are at least two more projects to complete. Wish me luck.
I bought these letters at the craft store. They were plain papier-mâché letters that I covered with patterned paper. I cut the leaves from the same paper using a template. The paper is double-sided cardstock paper from K & Company. The leaves got ruffled and inked a bit to make them look real. Well, as real as a patterned paper leaf gets.
The acorns are the pièce de résistance, though! The meaty part is cut from rusty metal mesh. The hat part is cut from a piece of gold embossed paper. They are really cool.

The space on these shelves are at a premuim. I noticed that most of the albums I have need some pages put it them.
Reading through a fascinating Contact Book, this Number 10 from the shortlived postwar series, and the end papers caught my eye. As it should have done. This was designed by Tirzah Swanzy, an artist who was one of the Great Bardfield Group based in Essex during the mid-20th Century. Born in 1908 she was an accomplished artist and designer who married Eric Ravilious. Eric was so sadly lost, missing presumed dead, as a war artist in 1942. Tirzah subsequently remarried to Henry Swanzy in 1944. Sadly in 1948 she was diagnosed with a reocurrance of cancer and she died of the disease in 1951.

for the sun I simply die cut a circle (using Spellinders classic circles) and then cut the rays with scissors
I stamped the sentiment (from Hero Arts 'Whimsical House' clear stamp set) directly on the felt with Versafine ink
The house is cut out from a patterned paper by October Afternoon (from the 'Farmhouse' collection 8x8 paper pad)

Hello there! A little page I made using the fab Dozens' "Dress Your Nest" September kit (which includes a stamp and custom paper I designed!) I had fun with my owl stamp on this page - and the title, "tuf" stands for Tuf city aka Tofino, where these pictures of me at the beach were taken. Thanks for peeking!
