Crazy Tuesday - Spoon reflections
Anything goes for 2021 - Reflections
Paper from my craft stash. The spoon is part of a salad serving set that I bought in Berlin. I love to bring things home that will bring back memories when we use them.
"Dreams are made of stardust, sparkles and a touch of magic." - raaen99 (your humble photographer).
The theme for "Looking Close on Friday" the 3rd of October is "in a bottle". I had originally submitted an image of a bottle containing brandy, but sill me, I misread that the theme required me to have something other than liquid in the bottle. I read it as, "only liquid". Let's call it a momentary lapse! Luckily, I have several bottles containing sequins that I use to bead Christmas baubles with, so I have chosen one of them, full of iridescent greenish blue sequins from the 1920s which I use as special embellishments to some of my Christmas baubles. I have photographed it against some hand printed and gilded Venetian paper I have. I hope that this is a more suitable entry. I hope you like my choice for this week's theme, and that it makes you smile!
For 'Macro Mondays' theme of 'Shadows'.
This is a small strip of paper cut from the side of a piece of lavatory paper - did someone say 'like gold dust here'? In cutting, the strip separated into two layers and I carefully rolled the pattered one round a paintbrush handle to get the curl. The paper was remarkably fragile.
Carefully placed on a white piece of paper and shot with a single lamp to get the shadow, I didn't like the resultant colour caste so converted the photo to B&W and like the result much better.

I am really struggling to keep up at the moment so please don't feel the need to comment as I may not be able to reciprocate just now.
When I was twelve, I entered a drawing competition and I won my first set of Derwent pencils: a tin case of 36. As a designer and illustrator as well as a photographer, over the years I have acquired several different sets of Derwents for different purposes, including my beloved Derwent Studio Pencil set of 72 which I use predominantly these days for designing clothes.
This year the FFF+ Group have decided to have a weekly challenge called “Snap Happy”. A different theme chosen by a member of the group each week, and the image is to be posted on the Monday of the week.
This week the theme, “think pink” was chosen by Margaret, The Pocket Rocket.
What better way to express the joy of the colour blue than with the spectrum of pink from my beloved Derwent Studio Pencil set? I have done a previous pencil collage for “Snap Happy” for the theme “blue”, so rather than a starburst like last time, I have opted for a top-to-tail formation, and my side picture this time is of a range of coloured pink papers I have in my craft boxes. Derwent colours in the main photo include: Number 16 Flesh Pink, Number 17 Pink Madder Lake, Number 18 Rose Pink, Number 19 Madder Carmine, Number 20 Crimson Lake, Number 21 Rose Madder Lake, and Number 22 Magenta. There are also three Faber Castel pencils from a set of watercolour pencils I was given by a friend for Christmas. They are rose, pink and magenta.
Derwent, or the Derwent Cumberland Pencil Company, is a manufacturer of pencils and other stationery. The business began in 1832 in Cumberland under the name of Banks, Son & Co. The company was bought by Acco UK and became a brand of their product range.
50/52: 52 week challenge - Nostalgic
My husband inherited this watch chain from his grandfather. It's called an Albert after the style of watch chain Prince Albert wore. The box is the original, I added a bit of vintage lace to pretty it up a little...and because I love lace.
A small mini album I made as a door prize for a ladies banquet at my church. Sorry picture is not very good.

Hello there! A little page I made using the fab Dozens' "Dress Your Nest" September kit (which includes a stamp and custom paper I designed!) Float planes were our choice mode of tranportation this year, I just had to document it!! :) Thanks for peeking!
A Zenflora giant-size paper flower kit by Stacey Stewart is included in a round up of a dozen high-quality papercraft kits on the All Things Paper blog. It would be such great decor for a party. See all: www.allthingspaper.net/2023/02/papercraft-kits.html
I wondered how the flower would look like in purple. The flower was stamped on a piece of PP that Linda (ScrappinBari) sent to me, so no extra stamping.
I have been in Holland for five days and was able to get some lovely supplies at the cheapest prices I have ever seen - three times cheaper than France!
A few tweets documenting my week. Looove this layout, especially since there is some Love, Elsie scraps on it.
Depending on your canvas - the colors of the distress markers look different. I love the shades this beige paper gave me. I used a piece of 12x12 pp to make my card base as well. This is the floating garden stamp.
...a happy marriage :)

A little page I made as guest designer this month for The Story Matters kit club! :) Super-cute kit I got to play with, thanks girls!! It was just perfect for some summer shots I've taken so far this year!

Here's my CAS take for the Embellish patterned paper colour trends challenge. The challenge was to use patterned paper and the colours brown, navy and cream. The two blue strips are the patterned paper that I used (of the pre-printed variety), and the rest I created with stamps. My design was inspired by this very pretty card. It doesn't show well in my photo, but my butterfly was stamped twice and layered.

One of our favorite charities is the Carolina Raptor Center. They care for and rehabilitate birds of prey like eagles, hawks, and owls. I wanted to make a card to thank their staff, so naturally I thought of using an owl stamp!
I decided to put the owl in front of a pretty full moon, made from patterned paper. (I don't know why he looks so orange in the picture, he's really more of a golden brown than orange.) The owl is raised on pop dots for dimension.

Yay! Dana gave me the go-ahead to post the first peek into The Dozens' April kit - she asked me to design some fun monster/candy-love papers and a stamp for this kit, so these are my designs! Thanks Dana! It's sure to rock the house, so stay tuned for the full kit reveal! =) This is one of the patterned papers!
Sorry for the giant watermark, also. It's definitely not on the final product, strictly for web purposes. =)
A peek at the Dozens' April kit and some of my monster designs...this little pink dude makes an appearance on some patterned paper...=)
I had a piece of PP over from a 6x6 from Linda (Scrappin'bari) and wondered how I would use it. So I chose for Painted Flower again and randomly colored it in blue and brownish tints. Thanks to Barb's technique in this card
www.flickr.com/photos/somecards/8553140650/in/photostream
I just lightly stamped over the top of the flower with some brown archive ink and it was like magic - it brought all the little details of the flower to the surface! So happy with that. Thanks Barb for the great tip!
I tied a piece of thin twine around the stem, popped the flower up on dimension (thanks Ava) and my tag was ready.
Day Two
Use your stash...so many options for me to choose from on this one! I went with some of my favorite patterned paper...yes I own it in every single color and some gems/domes. I added in a stamp because I love them too.
In all honesty, I love the way that this turned out...even though it's not nearly "perfect" enough for me. Stamping on multiple levels of paper left small gaps where the embossing powder missed...it scanned funny due to the dimension of the gems, the usual junk. But it makes me smile and I suppose that's the most important thing!
The size of my pages is wonky...I'm doing 6.5x11 because I plan to make a cover and bind them all together when I'm done. Plus...it's random...so am I.
Supplies Used:
Cardstock: Georgia Pacific [white]
Patterned Paper: Doodlebug
Stamp: Hero Arts
Ink: Versamark, Ink It Up!
Embossing Powder: American Crafts
Gems/Domes: Mark Richards
Adhesive: Scotch
Thanks for looking!
Oh my heavens!! This stamp has put me in utter bliss!! I Also got to pull out a doily from my thrift store stash and play with that!
I was inspired this afternoon by a card on a magazine and although this looks nothing like it, I liked the design. I love using up odds and ends of papers. The little tag that is popped up on the pp panel is a Hero Arts stamp. I just used the outline and covered the inside with pp. The two little butterflies were looking for a home, now they sit on a pink flower.. and the Thank You sentiment is HA as well.
created this card for this weeks PaperSmooches SPARKS sketch challenge :)
sentiment stamp is from Paper Smooches; patterned papers are from 4heures37
thanks for looking!
