A hiking trip at Ohiopyle State Park in Pennsylvania. This place is such a awesome place to get back in touch with nature.
My town has been involved for many years with the "rails to trails" program. The old railway roadbed that ran on the Burlington, VT to Boston, MA line has now been converted into a forested path that's nice for riding trailbikes on or a nice ramble. It stretches for miles along the Connecticut River.
I'm sure this was a path traveled quite frequently, getting to the barn and fields beyond. Doesn't seem to have as much traffic today

Its about 2am when I settled down by the entrance to the Thames Barier, its not open at this time and I'll be off in a few hours so no chance to see the barrier exhibition, that can wait for another day. About four hours later I strolled off to Charlton BR Station and got an early train to Victoria Station, within an hour of arrival there I was on a coach for Sunderland and got home around 6pm. My total distance walked was 189 miles in 6 days, 10 hours and 10 minutes. A lot quicker than I had originally planned but with fine weather and easy going I happily opted for early starts, long days steady walking and sleep, a regime that I oft times fancy could take a man to the ends of the world. But for now this is mine. THE END.
