The entrance to the trail is well indicated in front of the Gutiérrez Lake Ranger Section.
The first meters of the path are very busy since it is the same one that leads to the Cascada de los Duendes, the Mirador del Lago Gutiérrez and the Emilio Frey Refuge. Pay close attention as it is crossed by a Bicisenda (mountain bike trail).
After the first part of the coihue forest, the trail goes through an area of low vegetation, maintaining the same height, then crosses the La Menta stream and passes through an area known as "el quemado" since it was affected by a fire that occurred between the years 1995-1996.
During the first 2 hours there are few shady spots so there is a lot of sun exposure. In a detour it is indicated to the left to go to Playa Muñoz (the one on the right says Refugio Emilio Frey). From this fork, the trail begins a steep descent until it reaches Playa Muñoz on the shore of Lake Gutiérrez. There it is forbidden to make fire and/or spend the night.
Return along the same path, paying attention at the first fork, to turn right towards Villa Los Coihues.

6 km. to the Lago Gutiérrez Ranger Section.
3 km. more to Villa Los Coihues (bus stop to Bariloche) from the park rangers.

Though I follow the path
Over hill and dale,
Only time will tell
If it leads back to me.
