Working on a small thing to recharge and relax after each long day. Many things happened lately and I'm kinda drained from running after three kids and cooking and all the chores all by myself. I'm not superwoman. So it's really nice to have a quiet half hour each night to just handsew something small. I miss patchwork but I don't have time to do it. So I use this cheater fabric to make myself feel better.

Um pouquinho do meu cantinho no stand Amigas Arteiras...

I adapted my Union Jack mug rug pattern to create an Old Jack block for my Farm Girl Vintage. The proposed block is the Old Glory block (block 199) but I wanted to add a British touch.

progress, as i suspected, is pretty slow-going on my great gram-inspired quilt, though it looks like i have a lot done! i now have 8 out of 36 blocks finished + i couldn't be happier with how they are looking. of course, my version is going to be a lot more colorful than the original, but a lot of that has to do with fading, i think. i'm piecing the larger blocks as i have enough of the smaller postage stamp blocks made, rather than waiting to make all of the postage stamp blocks + then organizing them by color--i'm trying to keep things sort of random, because that's how quilts in my great grandma's time were made.

I took new pictures of this quilt. I really think it deserves better pictures.

Decision time: laying out the completed squares of the pineapple patchwork quilt to see which way works best? This way is in the classic flying geese pattern, with all the white triangles going in the same direction.

I climbed Haystacks (a mountain in the English Lake District) and made the Haystack block - all in the same week.

I just can't help myself. Love the patchy squares!

It all started with a 'Plume' layer cake, and went from there. Crazy colors, and I really didn't like it when I was making it, but it has grown on me.

Esse quilt é todo de anjos e há muito eu queria fazê-lo. Finalmente, ele foi quiltado pela Rose, de Brasília.

My favorites from PIQF 2014. Holes by Bernadette Myar. I'm not crazy about rug quilts, but I am crazy about this one! Blogged here: onthedesignwall.blogspot.com/2013/11/pacific-internationa...
