This is a great stash buster and would work fabulously with the Kaffe Fassett Fat 1/4 bundles we have this month in the shop (Turquoise - bit.ly/1PG6P2X or Shocking Pink -http://bit.ly/1O0ADXm). #ThrowbackThursday

This is another one of my creations using up my bit and pieces of my leftover wools.
There's 28 individual squares and then laced together with wool strips. It definitely qualifies as a one-of-a-kind rug. It requires so much work that I don't know if I'll ever make another one like it!
I love simple patchwork quilts! I think they really show off fabrics and colors in a fun way, and they just seem so cosy!
I picked a stack of bright colors, and added in some red after the rest were cut, since there wasn't enough contrast. It is backed in a Jennifer Paganelli fabric with a strip of scraps from when I cut the squares. I like it just as much as the front. It is bound with a connecting threads solid in sprout, and might be one of my favorite bindings yet.
This one is made up of 5" squares and measures about 60x70"--perfect my lap, although I think this is destined to be a gift. I hope the bright summery colors will bring some cheer to the colder months that are coming!
After sewing it all up, I did some hand-stitching on each of the white blocks, each one with a different pattern. I love how that part turned out, and it adds an additional point of interest. My favorite part of quilting is putting on the final details: stitching the binding, doing some hand-stitching, so playing around with embroidery floss was just perfect for me!
Voici le deuxième sac patchwork, mais avec une nouveauté : le sac est doublé d'un tissu batik qui inclut une large poche zippée. Discret, pratique, pour y loger porte-monnaie ou clefs. Reste à rajouter les anses !

Sometimes when I'm too tired to want to make important sewing decisions, I pull out my Japanese scraps and do improv. Soooo relaxing!@
This is on display in the new wing at Benslow Music Trust, Hitchin. I believe the patchwork pattern is called cathedral window.
