We stopped at the second bar on the poker run. Had a drink, took some snapshots, then back on the road.
Whilst desperately searching for the back to my holga camera because my darkroom class starts tomorrow, I found these gems. side note I remember what bouncing souls & I have in common - an insatiable love for coffee.
JIMMY EAT WORLD - "Patches"
I'm not worried about my life, it's too big.
Carpet stains on the ground and I think
I've found a way out downstairs turn around.
Wake me, take me up upside down.
Head down, lay down.
No one is ever around when I need them most.
Ricochet, right now.

The first 24 nine-patches for the quilt along. What colors should I try to add in? What should I stay away from?

A friend commented about that plywood early on in the project. I may not have done anything about it - it wasn't something I really focused on, so I was just going to paint it (again) and go.
However, since the backsplash was so easy and the little 3x6 tiles were only $0.21, why not cover the patch? It was a pain. See, when you take the class at Home Depot three times, you tile on a piece of backer board that's on a cart, parallel to the floor. You don't learn to tile vertically, like you do on a wall on your own real-life project. Getting the grout in was a lot harder than I thought it would be. However, it did turn out ok.
I didn't know at the time that the pattern is called subway iile. I just went with the cheapest tile because I had some extra (the original design was going to use a lot more of it).
I took this picture back to Home Depot to show Reggie, the fantastic instructor. I felt like a little kid giving my parents a picture to put on the refrigerator. He was impressed!
Patches to the small divots and gouges made in the process of sanding for paint removal were made with polyester putty. Most were made between coats of primer. I troweled it on, then sanded all but a very thin layer off, removing probably 95%
Hi ya! My name is Patches! I am a young, energetic, happy-go-lucky dog in need of a forever home. I love to play with toys. I will romp and run, tossing them around in the air, tail always wagging with a big, heartwarming grin on my face. I get along well with other dogs, especially those who will play with me. I also have a sweet, friendly, loving personality. I enjoy being petted and told I'm a good boy. I have been around cats and I pretty much ignore them. I am a good dog who is looking for a home where people have the time and energy to spend with me, play with me and shower me with love and kisses. Could that be you? Apply today! Adoption fee: $75. Adopt a pair: $115. Fee includes testing, deworming, vaccinations, spay/neuter, 60 days of free pet insurance, one session with a certified behavior trainer and microchip. The boys aren't used to being handfed yet, so they ignored the corn and zipped around. Mochi refused to have his picture taken, and Patch consented but moved in the last second. >_>
This is my little pal Patches, from Pennsylvania. I'm not too sure if he likes me or not, but I think he's pretty rad.

Catching up on some back shots of the city.
On my walk around the city to catch up with events while I was away. February 1, 2015 Christchurch New Zealand.
Though this picture doesn't convey the beauty I saw from the plane this green patchwork farmland along side the brown mountain divide was very striking. In fact this patch work came up later in a building I saw downtown for which I'm pretty certain this might have been the inspiration for the design.
Julies Pierpoint Patches, Mayor of the City Dump (and host of a popular long-running children's program in the Puget Sound/British Columbia area from 1958 to 1981) arrives in Seattle's Fremont neighborhood to oversee the dedication of the JP Patches (and Gertrude) statue outside the Adobe building on the 50th anniversary of the show's first episode (August 17, 1958).
Chris Wedes, who played the beloved clown for twenty-eight years and has continued to use the role to aid Seattle Children's Hospital and other causes even after his retirement, is 80 now. But once he rounded the recreation of the City Dump set and saw the crowd of all the people waiting whose lives he'd touched as children, he looked like he lost twenty years of age. Wedes was accompanied by Bob Newman, who played every other role on the show, dressed in drag as Gertrude and carrying Esmerelda the doll.
