A rain cloud passing over part of Darwin harbour.

This was taken on East Point Road. I love how the storms/rain in Darwin are always so isolated, so you can see them passing by like this.

This is 3 vertical shots stitched together, but as I wasn't using a tripod, it came out a bit wonky so there was a lot of cropping involved!

Still waiting on my filters... gr. But. I do have a car and am sussing out some places I want to go back and take pictures! YAY!

This scan from a slide started out really crappy, because the slide was much too dark. I salvaged it as best I could, first brightening it and making an HDR image, then applying the Colored Pencil effect. Improved, but still crappy. Anyway, the train it the California Zephyr, and we're on the BNSF Aurora Race Track out of Chicago. October 20, 2018. © 2018 Peter Ehrlich

The last time I went to White Rock was pretty much when I first came to Vancouver. I decided to spend my last day of the long weekend to this place. The first impression wasn't that great. The streets were crowded with cars and people. I stuck at a block for almost 20 minutes. Finding parking was extremely hard as well. I couldn't find any spot near the beach so I parked extremely far.

Other than that, the view of White Rock was actually pretty nice. My memory of this place came back as I walked towards the Pier. As expected, there were tons of people fishing, swimming, and taking photos. I saw couple photographers using Fuji cameras too :). While I was there, two trains were passing by. I had to opportunity to take one of them. I love using slower shutter speed to give the moving subject a sense of speed.

This week’s HMAM theme of ‘ Thirtysomething” was difficult for me. It involved some thought.

I am not the person I was at any point in my 30’s.

I have faced a metamorphosis on every level….. Physical, spiritual, and mental.

I have given myself permission to be happy with my curves, my sarcastic wit, my more than occasional need to watch The Notebook or Steel Magnolias. It’s all me, and it’s all o.k by me.

And I’ve given myself permission to not beat myself up over the things I still may NOT be so happy with (my never-to-be six pack abs, a few parts that definitely are not where they were located in my 30’s , and my more than occasional need to watch The Notebook or Steel Magnolias.)

My 40’s have given me a lot & taught me even more. I think I’m a pretty good package these days! Not perfect by any stretch, but happy, healthy and able to embrace (& run with) all that being a woman entails.

The thirty-something me,……..NEVER would have uttered those words .

Can’t wait to see what my 50’s bring ! (ok, I CAN wait, it’ll be a while, not rushing anything!!! ;-)

Happy Me Again Monday!!!
