The Red Arrows passing over the rooftops of Ashurst as they come round for another part of their display at Southampton Boat Show. I'm glad I was at my neighbour's with my camera!

Captured on day 99 of the Coronavirus lockdown, 494 is seen passing Western Corner on Corstorphine Road, while working route 26 from Tranent or Seton Sands to Clerwood. The vehicle carries promotional messages for Edinburgh Zoo, which the vehicle will pass about two minutes later. This road junction with Ellersly Road was the western boundary of Edinburgh until 1920. As the city grew, the trams followed. The city’s first horse tramway (1871) was extended from Haymarket to Kew Terrace in 1873 and reached Saughtonhall Drive at Western Corner in December 1897. The tramway operator offered connecting horse bus services to Corstorphine until these succumbed to SMT’s new motor buses from 1906. The tramway was converted to cable operation on 10 September 1900 and finally to electric traction in December 1922 (three years after the Corporation took over direct operation of the tramways). The tramway extension to Corstorphine (Templeland Road) opened in June 1923, with a further extension to St. John’s Road at Drum Brae following in April 1928. The tramway would be extended westwards again in July 1934 to Glasgow Road at North Gyle Farm and reached its final extent in February 1937 when the terminus was relocated to just east of Maybury junction. Tram route 1 was replaced by the 31 bus on 28 March 1954. The tramway from Maybury to the West End in the city centre was closed completely on 11 July 1954, with tram routes 12, 25 and 26 all being replaced by bus services with the same numbers.

I enjoy reading what other photographers have to say about the way they shoot and capture images so that I can attempt to improve in my own photography. One photographer mentioned (a fairly common rule of thumb) that to take compelling and original photos, turn 90 to 180 degrees and look whats in front of you. These mountain peaks are not the main attraction at this photo spot, but as I was passing through I was struck by the jagged peaks rising into the sky right beside the more famous mountain. I made a mental note to make a stop here at the end of the night. The orange glow is the result of a little light pollution and the occasional burst of lightning from a storm on the other side of the mountains.

A Passing Moment - Sea Isle City, NJ

The Milky Way shines over an empty Sea Isle beach as a meteor shoots through the middle of it. With Memorial Day now behind us, empty beaches and empty shore towns won't be around for long. That means more light pollution and sadly more "fist pumping." Both of those things make for one bummed out photographer.

it's just a passing moment gone. Please slow it down" - Rocky Votolato - goo.gl/3pags

Two QJ steam locomotives lead a westbound JItong Railway freight train over the big bridge near Chagganhada on October 2, 2005.

At the cottage and I decided to grab a camera for a little experimentation with multiple exposure to end the day. The weather had something else in mind with a storm front fast approaching when I got to the shore I went scrambling back for a wider lens ...

Famous walkway that bypasses Catedral (La Seu) in the Barri Gótic district in Barcelona. Waited for almost 2h that morning for really nice light that never came. Some shadow of the woman walking through the alley is noticable, but apparently at other times of the year, this alley really gets illuminated in the morning. Single RAW exposure. Level adjustments in Photoshop CS3.

12 May 2009: Moved to the Top of My Stream. I apologize for my absence the past month or so. I do still have a ton of photos to post from Japan and Redwood NP/San Fransisco, but I've been busy trying to finish graduate school and get a job. Yikes!

On the opposite side of Caerphilly Castle from the town, known as the Twyn, I saw this man walking along the path so waited until he got in view with the castle behind.
