Hopefully it's clear by this point that I love this skirt and could not be content with only having one shot (or even two) of it. at. all. I am also in a photo-taking-and-posting mood today, in a big way. Rhyme! I'm a poet and I didn't know it... until now.

In the fading light of the evening 2 Class 220 Cross Country Voyagers are seen passing just to the north of Claymills Junction, Burton-on-Trent, with services for Plymouth and Newcastle
We spent the day on the Isle of Wight: the thinking being that it might be slightly more cooler than the mainland. On the ferry on the way back we saw the Queen Victoria and the Adventure of the Sea passing close by. I pass by the liners on my way into work when the are in dock and the Queen Victoria docks a few metres from where I go to the gym. It was still exciting to see them sailing so closely by.

Looked up as I walked along the beach at Westhaven and saw this Snipe flying along into the wind, which made it slightly easier than usual to get a few photos.
The 2330 Werribee service arrives into platform 10 at Flinders Street whilst T395 looks on from 9571. Soon after this would follow the Werribee service..
Due to RRL works, most freight trains have been diverted to other places across the network. Northern and Western BG freight services have been diverted into Flinders Street station and running in Push/Pull mode so that they can run in and go straight out.
G515-S303 are at the other end, having done most of the work from Melbourne to Deniliquin and return...

I just happen to look out of the kitchen just now, and I see the clouds passing by my flat. What a beautiful sight! They passed over my flat in a few mins.
Now the skies are clear again.

I admire Henri Cartier Bresson. Who doesn't?
I've looked at his photos, (probably not as often as I should), and tried on occasion to emulate his simple yet complex style.
However, let's face it. If you have lots and lots of time, good lighting, an obscure place to linger while not accused of loitering and confident that you won't need a latrine break, you, too, can be a Bresson.
As far as I can remember I have never photographed anything on the Birmingham to Bristol line passing each other with such favourable positioning.
The train approaching should have been an HST so I was a bit irritated by the Voyager turning up but then you have to make the most of it.
A bird has just taken to flight too!
The trains are seen near Abbotswood Junction on the approach to Wadborough crossing on 6-3-20.
The southbound working is the 1V54 0633 Dundee to Plymouth running 15 minutes late and the northbound is the 1M45 1300 Bristol Temple Meads to Manchester Piccadilly. Both are CrossCountry trains as the liveries testify
Document time passing.

I'm having a hard time getting these pages photographed as there never seem to be enough light these days.
A line of rain showers, perhaps mostly virga, was passing to the east and I was high in the hills of the Palouse. Newly-harvested fields of wheat were all around me and the musty smell of the fields was in the air.

Almost a good shot as CSX drifts by the hogpen, usually there are a number of bikes in the lot, not sure they cared for SUVs, LOL!
Went out with some of my chums from photography class yesterday and our friend drove us over the motorway, it was getting dark at this point so we all took long exposure shots of the travelling cars.
I've always wanted to take one of these pictures but I can't drive nor do I have a car so I can't get here! We are doing "long exposure" shots in photography at the mo, which is why you are looking at this picture now!
Once nothing more than a mile board and a small team track that trains rolled past, Harper's Ferry sees a good amount of activity these days since a lengthy passing siding was added a few years ago. 853 eases through the south siding switch for a meet while 260 holds the main.

June 22nd, 1985 - Mirfield
My two young sons (now in their 40s with children of their own) watch on as two Class 47s pass. Gateshead's 47526 is heading a Blackpool to Newcastle express towards Mirfield as 47293 approaches with a tanker train. Taken near Heaton Lodge Junction at 2.25pm on a Saturday afternoon.
We have had small groups of pelicans coming through our part of the Elk River on migration! The pelican scouts came about 3 weeks ago and now, groups are passing through! Amazing to see! Feels like a good omen!
