"This was one of the most popular restaurants in Sylvania in its day, with locals and with tourists passing through on U. S. 301. It was a much busier road in those days and the stretch from Sylvania to the South Carolina state line still harbors many of these forlorn structures. The interstates ended the glory days of roadside travel and it took a lot of the economy of towns like Sylvania along with it. After Treado’s closed, it was home to at least two more restaurants, Ray’s and Honey’s."

so many lost recently. Cy Twombly's recent death did not have the tragedy of either Norway or Amy W, but sad to see the passing of a great name in modern painting (who i confess i only really came to appreciate quite recently).

The warmer months have arrived and so too the water dragons have emerged from wherever they’ve been hiding over the winter months.

These tracks run through a little town I went through, Clifford. I had never been there and noticed this as I was driving through. I like tracks and this provided a great vanishing point as well. I have a view in color of the other side with a mill I will post soon.

backyard last night - what a treat. Two of them went past; an unusual sighting for the strait.

I can be quite normal on occasion. No over the top claims, statements or remarks and nothing bordering on the depressing.

Just a little bit of nice with a touch of quiet. Which, to be honest, is what I'm really like.

But shhhh don't tell anyone I did this :o)

"Go, slip over the edge of our Known World

With the early-setting sun

Of a bright, cool Spring day,

And know that you are leaving

An Earth that renews and recovers

And comes again,

As do the daffodils on this driveway

At the foot of centuries-old beech trees.

You walked your Path,

You walked it well;

You loved, and that was

The most important thing of all.

This Spring sun sets so early,

Too early for those of us

you leave behind.

Come visit us always,

In the flowers of summer

In the soft breezes of an early autumn day

In the crystal ice shapes of a winter frost

And again, in the dazzling light of a Spring sun,

Setting too early in the afternoon sky."
