This scene is viewed from the deck of the M5 Avonmouth Bridge in Bristol. GBRf Class 66 loco no. 66725 'Sunderland' heads 6B58, the Colnbrook Lafarge (1045 hrs) to Portbury Auto Terminal working, on the afternoon of Tuesday 02 March 2021. The train has just passed through the village of Pill on the left bank of the River Avon, the river bed being visible in the top left corner of the image.

This is my first Flickr posting of 2021. Spring is just around the corner!

57316 was on the rear.

The Soho to Langley Green trip working (T48)has now left the freight only line and is 'wrong line' at Smethwick West station. That station has just had new waiting shelters installed and fresh paving on the platforms, the booking office is at street level, behind the footbridge is the fine GWR signal box. Today the waiting shelters still stand amid a tangle of shrubs and trees, the booking office, footbridge and signal box long gone, this station closed with the construction of the multi-level Smethwick Galton Bridge station when the Jewellery line opened from Snow Hill

Carolina Coastal # 4621 has just crossed the Pamilco River swing bridge and is now passing some American geese taking it easy in the 90 degree heat. Washington , North Carolina Sept. 17, 2019

We walked from Bristol into the city centre. Lots of people to see.

Virgin Trains East Coast liveried Class 43, No.43308 'Highland Chieftain' is pictured clattering over the point work at Whittlesea leading the diverted 1Y20, (08:55) Newcastle - London King's Cross service.

Weekend engineering work between Peterborough and St.Neots necessitated the diversion of this and several other early morning Sunday services via Cambridge.

Classmate No.43314 tails the 9-coach Mk3 train which is passing the camera around 5 minutes behind schedule.

NS 310 flies by on the main as NS 287 holds on the siding in Ripley awaiting a clearance West once 310 is clear.

Another load of coal is pushed out of the Sandaoling opencast coal mine, whilst the empties set off back into the pit as the single line clears. This rotation of trains and coal has been running continuously since the late 1950s and continues into 2017 at a lesser rate. This is probably the steamiest place on earth at the moment.

GBRf 66703 aptly named "Doncaster PSB" heads through Doncaster station with the powered signal box behind the loco & first hopper working 4N40 16:42 Doncaster Down Decoy-Tyne Coal Terminal. 01/08/2017.

After a meet at CPF-242 with AMtrak 683, POED with MEC 7552 - MEC 7542 rolls west through the busy little city of Dover NH. It sure was nice to get a PAR painted leader in District 2 again and the only painted C40-8 so far at that.
