Caught this shooting star over the amazing Toronto skyline the other day when I was shooting a timelapse. Very excited when I saw this photo, it's such a rare scene to see a shooting star fly over one of the brightest city centers on the planet.

An unusually pleasant 15th October 1984 with 40155 passing GD TMD with 6M69, the 13:15 Railway St to Clitheroe Castle Cement empties. Fortuitously my Mamiya 645 was loaded with 100 ASA Kodak Plus-X Pan.

DMVW SD50F 5408 leads a corn train past the brick elevators in Merricourt, N.D. According to the ghosts of ND site, the place peaked in the 1940s with 153 residents, but today a single family calls it home.

Thanks to the roadworks along Jenolan Caves Rd near Hampton. We couldn't drive home that way.They were only letting the people in who lived along there, this was taken as we were driving along the Great Western highway near Lithgow.

White Pass & Yukon Locomotive #73 takes a passenger train south past the switch at Clifton Siding (MP 8.5), heading back to Skagway, AK in a light rain. Clifton, which is named for the massive granite cliff that you see overhanging the tracks here, was formerly the site of a section house until the 1960s. The section house and all associated infrastructure have been removed, and the only significance of Clifton today is the presence of a nearly 800 ft. siding, which serves primarily to allow opposite direction trains to pass each other here.

This image was captured during a 5-day photo shoot on the White Pass & Yukon Route in September of 2025, which featured the 1947 Baldwin Mikado #73, the last steam locomotive on the WP&YR.

I found myself on a trolley bus four times a day at that time, taking my daughter to and from school. The faces, the grime, the six month Russian winter - they were a daily meditation. I studied the light, noting when the bus would pass a bright area, so when I did want to shoot those faces, I knew when. This picture was taken in the afternoon, passing a well-known convent and cemetery. Many famous Russians are buried there, in graves adorned with statues and tributes. People on the bus would cross themselves when we passed it, as is the tradition in the Russian Orthodox church. This image reflects the moment just AFTER they crossed themselves.
