Providence and Worcester Railroad's Valley Falls based local PR3 is on their way to Cranston Yard and the Port of Providence as they pass the Amtrak MOW Base located in the remains of the once vast New Haven Railroad Northrup Avenue hump yard. They are rolling west down track 7 at about MP 187.8 of Amtrak's New Haven Line main (the NEC) just about to the Providence city line that I'm almost standing on.
PW GP38-2s 2008 and 2006 (built new for the then only 7 yr newly independent road by EMD in Dec. and Feb. 1980 respectively) lead the short train while at right MBTA F40PH-3C 1051 shoves on the rear of inbound Keolis/MBTA train 814 from Wickford Jct. on Main 2.

Webb Rail (WEBX) FL-9 2024 trails on CSX Q403-18 southbound over Popolopen Creek under the Bear Mountain Bridge near Fort Montgomery, NY. The engine is en-route to Philadelphia for cosmetic and mechanical work.
Opposite the Odsal Stadium, there was a handy layby with a grass bank, ideal for getting this photo. From this angle it just shows how very, very lucky everybody was. I went to work later, swapped with my conductor(who had recently passed his test), and conducted for the day. Seeing it in picture is fine, but to see the actual thing was extremely thought provoking and, indeed, frightening.
Underneath an overpass.. A set of lite power/helpers heads north to assist a CSX manifest up the line, meeting a stack train heading into Cumberland.
BNSF Railway ES44C4 locomotives 6655 and 6762 are seen leading CSX train B119 south through Ridgefield Park, NJ, passing the track connecting the River Subdivision to the New York, Susquehanna & Western.
After a brief stop just over Ais Gill summit 8F 48151 continues south with the Dalesman of 19/6/2017.This was a popular view when the charters set off after watering in Garsdale,usually with a decent exhaust alas lacking on this very hot day

This is "The Street" at Whitstable on the north Kent coast a strip of beach that is exposed when the tide is out!
I used a telephoto lens on this and deliberately over exposed the image so that I could grab all those silhouetted people as they went by to create this!

Colas liveried 37116 is seen at the rear of 3Q14 passing through Longniddry with this test train at a steady pace on the 30th November 2017. 37175 is leading this train travelling at a steady pace allowing me time to set the camera and tripod for the going away shot.

Escanaba & Lake Superior train ELSPE with the ELS 400, in Great Northern colors heads west as it makes its way around the wye towards Hermansville, Mi. while passing the CN office building in Powers, MI.

Passing through a fortuitous patch of sunlight, NR27 and DL39 are winding their way through the desert, nearing Broken Hill with the Indian Pacific (4SA8).
CSXT's D795 local from Hanover passes through the heart of Gettysburg PA westbound on their way to Hagerstown MD on July 1, 2021. The historic Hanover & Gettysburg Railway's depot is to the right of the train while the Lincoln Diner is to the extreme right in this photograph.

There is very little freight along the Vale of Glamorgan line nowadays now that the coal trains to Aberthaw stopped running in 2018 and the Ford Vans trains stopped last year. A welcome exception are the cement trains to and from Westbury and Moorswater, in Cornwall. In this scene, Class 70 No. 70812 passes through Barry station on the ‘down loop goods line’ to Aberthaw cement works working the 6C36 from Moorswater Tarmac empty tanks. The line to Barry Island is seen on the right.
