The Great Orme Tramway (opened in 1902) is a cable-hauled 3 ft 6 in gauge tramway in Llandudno in North Wales.

This is Great Britain's only remaining cable-operated street tramway and one of few surviving in the world. It takes passengers from Llandudno Victoria Station to just below the summit of the Great Orme headland. Operation of the tramway differs from the better-known San Francisco system in that it is not a cable car but, rather, operates on the funicular principle where the cars are permanently fixed to the cable and are stopped and started by stopping and starting the cable. As one car is ascending, the other is descending, and they meet midway.

The line comprises two sections, where each section is an independent funicular and passengers change cars at the halfway station.

Tram number 6 is named 'St. Seiriol' and number 7 'St. Trillo'. Both these trams entered service on the tramway in 1902.

With the available evening light dropping 66733 threads it's way through the semaphores of Bedlington with the 6E45 08:07 Fort William to North Blyth empty alumina.

With plans to reintroduce passenger services to the Blyth and Tyne route the semaphores are not likely to be around for ever. This small oasis of historic railway operation should be enjoyed whilst it's still here.

5th May 2021.

This 3metre long piece of driftwood had to be re-located in the back of my ute (to the dislike of the local park-ranger who pulled me over haha) and I waited until mid-afternoon and a few beers to shoot it with the good ol big stopper.

Another shot from Sunday afternoon on Curbar Edge, the mist now rolling in diffusing the sun light. This was still well before sunset which pays to the rather bright conditions.

Took this shot at San Juanico Bridge. This bridge connects Leyte and Samar islands, and was built by the Japanese during the 70's.

I shall pass through this world but once. Any good therefore that I can do or any kindness that I can show to any human being, let me do it now. Let me not defer or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again.

I don't have nearly enough pictures in my new home turf, so I decided to change that. Here's Q03430 passing in the shadow of the monuments on its way north.

The other night when I went down to brick lane I took my partner along with me. this was her first trip out with me in London and I was a little worried how she take it.

Well to my surprise she enjoyed herself chatting with some of the girls. mainly Emma and Racheal. I was as can only be expect the butt of a few comments one being, Apparently all over the house the wooden floors have stiletto marks apart from the utility room. As I am the only girl in house who wears such shoes it it would seem it shows that I don't do the washing of the clothes or the dishes.

Have to say she is right and this is roughly how I look if given the task to do either job.,,,,,,,,,,,Well that's why we have mothers all I have to do is take my clothes around and she will do them and as for dishes I have a simple answer.......Takaway LOL

There were no campers to be found on February 20, 1978 as a pair of SD40's covered with winter grime start 911 on its way west. 753 and 742 have 81 cars in tow and the rear end crew should be about ready to board the caboose back near the depot. At this point the train is on a slight downgrade just out of Trout Lake but as soon as the conductor and rear brakie are on it will be run 8 to try to build speed for the 2 mile grade ahead. Westbound normally got a workout leaving town and track speed wasn't reached until you were near mile 443 five miles to the west.
