This poor Great Blue Heron was looking for a place to land but after flying around the park on three different times, it gave up. Our water level is so high it makes it difficult for them to find the right spot.
Sometimes you just have to stop the car and just sit and watch the light dancing on the landscape. The addition of snow with all its reflective properties just adds to the drama and being so deeply immersed in nature you can sometime forget to take a picture of that scene................. not this time!
As I was photographing the Canada Goose, out of the corner of my eye I spotted something swimming in the water, it turned out to be a Hooded Merganser. What a surprise that was as I have never seen one before in that particular place. He was just passing by and never took notice to what was going on with us.

Left behind. Oldsmobile…a brand that unfortunately became associated with a previous generation and things that are dated and perhaps obsolete, at a time when innovation is everything. It’s funny how a brand can be so affected by associations and perceptions. Even the name seems to suggest “old”. Not a good thing to have at a time when older institutions are being cast aside and critically questioned. Who’s next?
