After having had a great week and lots of fun at the EJC 2011 in Munich now a huge amount of pictures is waiting on my hard disc to be viewed, postprocessed and published. I hope I will find the time and start with this picture of a juggler in front of the Olympiaturm.
I was scolded by a security guard for raising my camera in this room at the Smithsonian American Art Museum, but not before I took this quickie shot of two people passing a huge portrait of President Obama. (It's all very confusing: they allow photos in some parts of the museum, but not in others.)
Obama and Angelina Jolie look good even at this size. Most others (Jack Nicholson, John McCain, etc.) would be well-advised to reveal their "warts and all" only in smaller portraits, to avoid scaring small children.

We also saw a variety of awards handed out, as well as a fond farewell to Sgt Mteta, who has been a loyal member of the squadron for many years, as she leaves to focus on studies. We wish her all the best
Scotlands still got loads of wee single track roads and minor routes with passing places in the more rural and remote areas. Its not just cars you have to pass on some roads though lol. A mobile phone shot of a coo on the way to Glenelg.

The photographer I chose was a Hungarian man named, Andre Kertesz (1894-1985). He was highly regarded as a still life photographer. After passing away in 198, he became very popular for some of his abstraction and distortion photography using reflection tools in the perfect positions when photographing the women that he did early on. Even though these were amazing photos, what really caught my eye was his street photography. His technique that he used was decisive, straight and with some modern effects such as the abstraction work he did early on. His Decisive photos allowed for everyone else to see a world different in his eyes as he captured these still moments with no intrusion. He was a man known for wandering the streets to observe his environment to capture the perfect shot of urban isolated life, which explains these amazing photos. Kertesz concept when doing photography in the street was to capture a specific moment no one else would imagine to see. The technique he would use was his hand held camera and patience until the right moment came into his frame. He focused on unusual points of view such as taking the picture from the highest perspective so he would get everything that was happening at that moment. He focused on monochrome lines and shadows for still life photos. The images he caught in his street photography were showing everyday life in his time, which was my absolute favorite because there weren’t staged. And this is what I was trying to capture. I used his photo, The Daisy Bar, photographed in Paris (1930) as my inspiration. In this photo he captured a silent night, making a set of dark stairs the star of his photo, which were only highlighted by the night sky and streetlights. I believe I found the perfect place to capture his concept. I used the stairs that are usually busy during the daylight and dark and silent at night. I made sure to wait until it was dark enough so I would only be using the night sky and lights as my light to capture the different shadows he had. I focused capturing this photo from the highest point, so I wouldn’t miss the still urban surrounding. I believe it was a good shot yet now a contemporary version with today’s lights and cars you see in the frame.

JUST PASSING THROUGH: sculptures and installations features new large-scale works by Bay Area artists Llewelynn Fletcher, Sasha Petrenko, and May Wilson and a collaboration between New York artist Austin Thomas, Sasha Petrenko, and USF art students. The installations reveal the diverse realms artists explore when contemplating space—nature, power, social interaction and symbolism. The artist-created instructions invite viewers to interact with their sculptures in order to discover how we, as individuals and groups, simultaneously fill, shape, pass through, and become part of our environment. bit.ly/1Em1vup

A sculpture commemorating the passing of the Olympic Games from Soeul in 1998 to Barcelona in 1992, which sits across the road from the main Olympic Stadium in Barcelona.
The Barcelona Olympic area was originally meant for the 1936 ‘People’s Games’, which were due to held as an alternative to the Berlin Games held by the Nazis that year.
Those games were cancelled when Civil War kicked off, but the games were eventually returned to the city in 1992.
The Olympic are – or Olympic Ring – is made up of the main athletics stadium as well as the swimming pool and the Palau Sant Jordi arena and a huge open plaza in the middle.
