Just another day at the Kitsune Forest. The Sisters are passing through, older one trying to convince the younger one not to cause trouble. Even Mr. Fox Guard was narrowing his eyes and grumbling about what mischief she was going to start.
A regular winter visitor to our local park.

Spiny-cheeked Honeyeater (Acanthagenys rufogularis)
One we don't see very often in our area.
From the archives.
Following the meandering Colorado River, the westbound Rio Grande Zephyr passes through Yarmony. Colorado.
The dark clouds gather, heavy, low,
With rain that falls in sheets below,
They cloak the sun, a shroud of grey,
And turn the day to dusk-like play.
Black Falcon (Falco subniger)
A long time since I have seen a Black Falcon on 'my patch'. Seen high over Sneydes Rd on Saturday Morning.
CSX M316 heads east past the Allegany County Fairgrounds just southwest of Cumberland, MD. Their journey is nearly complete as just a few miles of the Mountain Subdivision separate this train from their destination of Cumberland.

Still another new angle from last week when I followed PR-3 every day in my stupid pursuit to catch them switching Atlantic Plywood as told here: flic.kr/p/2kTj5Yf
A pair of Providence and Worcester GP38-2s (2006 leading and 2007 on the rear) both bought new by the railroad bracket three cars as they roll east down the East Providence Running Track crossing Central Ave. at MP 1.7.
At left is the brick mill complex built by the Phillips Insulated Wire Company between about 1898 and 1927. The company, established in 1888, was one of the most successful manufacturers of coated wire products, in an industry that ranked as the third-largest in Pawtucket. The complex was used by a variety of owners for the manufacture of such products until 2003.
The complete complex originally consisted of one four-story brick, heavy timber structure built in 1898. Thirteen more buildings were built over time, making it one of the largest historic mill complexes in the region.
It has since been repurposed into luxury lofts and condos and alas another rail served industry is gone forever and only the shell remains as a photo prop.

On my regular downtown walk, I was watching for flying birds to practice with the new focus system. I spotted a goose approaching but didn't get into position until it was nearly on me. Fortunately, the camera was up to the task. I'm pretty pleased with the speed of this focus system, even on the 200-500 lens. Next to the Willamette River in downtown Portland.
So after day of taking photos and a nice meal with a bottle of wine I find myself out in the car park in the dark getting ready to walk back to my caravan ... but not ready to call it a night. .
.
So ... what to do?? .
.
Photograph some light trails of course!!
CSX unit steel train U522-30 is heading south out of Deshler through some of the remaining classic B&O CPL installations left on the line. Deshler, OH 11/30/2024
Seeing some nice clouds from home we decided to take a walk to the beach.
When we got there the clouds just looked amazing with heavy rain being dumped off shore by this enormous and beautiful cloud.
I took a number of shots this one being a stitch of twelve images to include a large amount of the cloud and the dog walker.
The beach here at Lancing is ever changing, the recent winds and rough sea`s have scoured away the sand to reveal a seabed of large stones and make new rock pools there are also now a few old wooden groynes showing in places that have previously been all sand.
Vehicle passes by our group, at the top of Antigun Pass, as we captured the extraordinary show in the sky. Sitting at the top of the mountain it almost seemed as if we could reach out and touch the sky. Interesting bit of info about the auroras. The color red happens about 190 miles above the earth's surface. While green happens about 60- 155 miles. This was shot at Antigun Pass, Alaskaon September 29, 2024 at 2:43 am. I just wanted to thank everyone for all the support I have been receiving lately. Your likes and comments have been greatly appreciated.
