It's a great year for crane flies. I counted 21 yesterday just strolling around our backyard, and it's nothing unusual to find mating paris.

Maybe I should compile a crane fly Kama Sutra.

Met up with the grandkids for a bit of shopping and lunch today and realised there was a fair in town. Think from all the screaming and funny faces they enjoyed themselves!!!

one of my closest pair :) the male is helping the female with the cleaning of her primaries. They were very busy with 5 offsprings in their nest, that's why the famale was so dirty :)

A white, light-wheat loaf (or pair of loaves) using all homemade leaven. With the light flour it really rose and was very lively to handle. The two loaves baked together in a square glass baking dish, 8-inch, for 40 minutes in a hot oven.
