자개로 장식된 등자는 매우 희귀하며, 이 유물은 아마도 가장 상태가 좋은 사례라고 할 수 있을것이다. 등자 앞에 커다랗게 새겨진 문양(몬)은 도쿠가와 집안의 것이다. 이 등자가 만들어졌을 때, 이런 화려한 물건을 사용할 수 있었던 사람은 아마도 도쿠가와 이에야스 혹은 그 아들 도쿠가와 히데타다, 아니면 그들의 가까운 친척 정도였을 것이다.

Q. Wasn't train & plane spotting 40/50 years ago, so much more enjoyable?
A. Yes. There was far more to see & if you missed it, you would have to wait until next time, because there was no internet to ask hundreds of questions, like "anyone got a consist" or "where is this parked & is it visible from the Ash Pub walk", meaning nothing un-expected ever comes along!
Saw them in a field yesterday on my way home from work. Quick U-ie but they retreated to the trees back against the woods. Down the road and another U-ie, I returned and pulled up slowly. They were very nervous. Just got these from inside the car and they flew again. Brother it was cold! I'll be watching that field for sure.

This pair of Buzzards were hunting over the fields and I was able to watch them for some time. If anyone happens to have a spare EF 600mm f4 L IS they want to give me, I'll see if I can get some better shots :)
