A pair of BNSF H1 SD40-2s leads a cut of autoracks into the yard. The first hints of clearing skies are showing up to the northwest.
A pair of Class 503 sets were stabled for the weekend in the siding at Birkenhead Park in May 1979. Both sets were in Rail Blue livery, Driving Trailer Second M29134M was one of 26 similar cars dating from 1956 built by BRCW. The last two cars of the batch M29155/56 were built as replacements for cars destroyed in a wartime air raid at Birkenhead.
Went down to Council Groves today. Boy there isn't much going on this time of year...hardly any wildlife...think they've gone looking for relief from the heat! It was suppose to reach 104 degrees yesterday...think it made it to 102 last time I checked. That kind of heat is awful...my poor yard is burning up...garden is doing terrible....but I had a wonderful raspberry harvest!!! Have a nice weekend all! :)
These guys usually hide in the autumn grasses. Perhaps they could not see me with the sun in their eyes :0)

Elegant Northern Pintails swim through wetlands and lakes with their slender necks and long, pointed tails held high. Intricately patterned and pale-faced females join males fashioned with a signature white stripe down their chocolate-colored necks. These eager breeders head to the prairie pothole region of the Great Plains, as well as Canada, and Alaska to nest as soon as the ice breaks up. Large groups congregate in wetlands, lakes, bays, and even waddle through agricultural fields eating grains during the winter.
Northern Pintails migrate at night at speeds around 48 miles per hour. The longest nonstop flight recorded for a Northern Pintail was 1,800 miles.
Ella has her first pair of Converse boots and Mummy has a matching pair.
Ella is now pulling herself up on furniture and today she has been letting go and standing by herself. I think she may be walking by her first birthday in just over two weeks.
This morning, 12-11, was pretty active with our local eagles! The male was doing all the work, while the female stayed at the nest. Hopefully this is a sign of good things to come!😀

I was out for a visit with the flock at Jericho Beach Park. Over the years they have come to know us very well and greet us immediately after we exit the car. They always know they will get a treat or two and follow us around the park. They are like family to us.

I was delighted when this 1952 Aurelia B20 GT arrived and parked next to my 1954 Appia. The Aurelia is a 2nd Series car with a 1991cc V6 engine (60 degree V). By comparison, the Appia has 1090cc V4 (narrow angle 10 degrees).
