cd package design i did about a year ago. i forgot to upload pictures of the mock up when i constructed it.

All of the scarves are finished, but this is the only one that has 100% of its components ready to go. I was dying to show the giant cello bags I'm using to package up the scarves and their extras (see notes).
Scarf #5 is drying, and I need to print out some pics to finish up the booklets for the others (besides #4, the booklets are much smaller (& handmade)), and a couple bags will have other items. Scarf #3 needs one of those d-fuzz-its, since Cashmerino pills like crazy, and Scarf #2 was knit in part at a pub, and had a guest knitter at the pub, so I'm going to make a mini CD of the performer's music from that night. I should be able to mail by the middle of next week (payday, conveniently).
ETA: I just realized that I should close the bags with a rubber band first, in case the outer ribbon gets knocked off!
Apple's packaging design is amazing. It's a spot-on and exactly what it needs to be.
On Tuesday I got my first iPhone, it's a 16GB 3G S (white). I'm still waiting for the SIM card to be activated so it's kinda an expensive iPod at the moment.
This is how I package my ACEOs. The ACEO is in a plastic sleeve and between rigid paper or cardboard in there. I use different strips in the center depending on what cute scraps I have. I always use brown paper because I love it and hemp/raffia to tie. I usually write a note too.
It's much simpler than it appears in writing and believe it or not, this all fits into a regular mail envelope!
...I decided to do this after receiving such gorgeous packages from Etsy sellers. I learned that it all makes a little difference.

My pet peeve: bad toy packaging!! If sustainability starts with education, what are we telling our children with this mess? Huge amounts of plastic and cardboard (not even sure if it's post-consumer) for a small amount of doll, doll clothes, and/or playset.

Plus all the twist ties, plastic spacers, tape and actual sewing to keep the dolls and various pieces in place. Have you tried to get a doll out of a package lately? I'd say on average it takes about 20-30 minutes. Crazy!

My big brother sent me the coolest care package from back home in the U.S.: Burt's Bees Baby Butter (for stretch marks, obviously -- and not to put on bread!), an adorable pregnancy journal (even if I'm already nearly 6 months along!), some of my favorite Goldfish crackers, the Once movie soundtrack (we rented it together while I was home in January), some Wet & Wild lipliners, and a gift for my boy, the 3:10 to Yuma DVD -- seriously, he thinks of everything!
