This project was based on one of the YCN briefs where they asked from designers to create a totally new packaging concept for Doritos. Unfortunately, when I saw the brief the deadline was very close, but nevertheless I developed it.
The shape and the texture of the Doritos chips are used as the base of this packaging concept.

cd package design i did about a year ago. i forgot to upload pictures of the mock up when i constructed it.
Project for school.. I redesigned a package for Dove soap (basically just a white box) into something a little more interesting. Had a lot of fun making them.
Look at this cute little fall package that just arrived! Ive been spoiled!! Thank you so much Michaelanne (tinyacorn). I need to step up my game on this one :)
All of the scarves are finished, but this is the only one that has 100% of its components ready to go. I was dying to show the giant cello bags I'm using to package up the scarves and their extras (see notes).
Scarf #5 is drying, and I need to print out some pics to finish up the booklets for the others (besides #4, the booklets are much smaller (& handmade)), and a couple bags will have other items. Scarf #3 needs one of those d-fuzz-its, since Cashmerino pills like crazy, and Scarf #2 was knit in part at a pub, and had a guest knitter at the pub, so I'm going to make a mini CD of the performer's music from that night. I should be able to mail by the middle of next week (payday, conveniently).
ETA: I just realized that I should close the bags with a rubber band first, in case the outer ribbon gets knocked off!
Visualizing is believing! Mia can quickly visualize special finishes. Quickly visualize how packages will look when handled and moved. Quickly visualize the effects of a variety of in-store lighting environments and backgrounds.
Save significant money by making and delivering fewer mock-ups and comps. And because mock-ups can be shared instantly by e-mail or web, less time is needed to move through the design and production cycle.
Invitation package designed for a fictional fundraiser for School 33 Arts Center in Baltimore, MD. PSA! logo created using actual lead type. Cover was blind debossed on a Vandercook letterpress using wooden type. Designed in Adobe InDesign.
I wrapped the maple-walnut pear cake (on serving plate) covered with cake pan using a tea towel. A second tea towel was used to roll a knife and cake server. The make-shift knife roll slipped neatly inside the cake bundle for this cake carrier.

I'm a sucker for beautifully designed packaging.
Cupcake from Cupcake A La Mode. Raspberry Lemonade and ChocoLatte.
Product: Dora's Explorer Girls Dora doll
Manufacturer: Mattel
Location: Toys R Us
Materials: plastic, cardboard, metal, thread, tape
Ratio: maybe 3:1? More if you count the crazy amount of empty space
My pet peeve: bad toy packaging!! If sustainability starts with education, what are we telling our children with this mess? Huge amounts of plastic and cardboard (not even sure if it's post-consumer) for a small amount of doll, doll clothes, and/or playset.
***
Plus all the twist ties, plastic spacers, tape and actual sewing to keep the dolls and various pieces in place. Have you tried to get a doll out of a package lately? I'd say on average it takes about 20-30 minutes. Crazy!

this isn't really a packaging, rather it's my new wallet that reminds me of the James Bond movie theatre posters illustrated by Robert McGinnis;
