Curious about the origins of this colour I did a little research online:
In 1937 the Italian surrealist designer Elsa Schiaparelli mixed a touch of white with magenta to create this vivid colour. She used it to package her debut perfume Shocking.
For me, shocking pink and mini skirts are somehow inextricably linked in my nostalgia for the 1970s. I did not own/wear one in pink but clearly remember chopping a good portion off a beautiful Scottish kilt to create a mini skirt.

I bought the birdies to adorn wrapped gifts with them, but kept two as they are so cute ... I try to avoid plastic wherever possible, but here I took the bait of the creative marketing team of the manufacturer : ))

This is just a prototype packaging, but it is basically a trio of bullnose clip magnets clipped onto a slit into one of my self designed barrette cards, then popped into a plastic bag and covered with my card stock and stapled.
