i realise that when you buy fruit for a school project to photograph, it's obviously also a calling to take a photo of one of them to use in your 365. especially strawberries :P

and omg i love strawberrehs

i've not had them in so long and they were DELICIOUS nomnomnom. i wish i'd "expanded" this. i love the bokeh those trees create - no matter how annoying they are in the summer when youre trying to enjoy the sun

and i just want to take this oppurtunity to thank all of you

you're all so supportive and encouraging every single day, even the days where i give nothing back. i apologise for the times i dont have time to reply to fms (lololol), comments and such, as i really should. but i have to say i absolutely adore what everyones done today - it is all seriously gorgeous. (my favourites are gonna soar tonight, ha)

so thank you :)

uhm not sure what else to say

other than i've eaten too much. as usual. yup yup.

Ladakh - The erstwhile Kingdom nestled in the Western Himalayas was also known as the “The Hidden Kingdom”, preserving its beauty and its culture for ages from the outside world.

Today, Ladakh is among the most visited places in India, no more hidden but yet, well preserved when it comes to its traditions and cultures - the very aspect which makes Ladakh very special for me to visit again and again. More you explore, more you find. After about 8 trips to this magical place, finally I earn the oppurtunity to capture the stunningly beautiful and very detailed 'Ladakhi Costume'.

Hiring a local, making them wear compormised costume catering to tourists doesnt appeal to me. Which is why, exploring, meeting and socializing with locals for a week at forgotten corners around Leh got me the good fortune of capturing this image which truly fills my heart.

About the costume :

Robes in yak wool and silk, capes in brocade and goatskin, woven scarves and shawls, silk and felt hats, embroidered pants, fine felt sashes with beads woven in, shoes with nambu & tigma tie & dye work, woven pangdens or aprons and jewelry accessories in red coral, white shell & blue turquoise, all came together in a harmonious fashion - Design perfected centuries ago and remains so till date.

What catches my eyes the most is the PERAK - The Head Dress. The perak is a status symbol for a Ladakhi woman, her wealth and position are shown by the number and quality of the stones decorating it. Turquoise is the perak's dominant element. The full perak is worn by a married woman as her most valued possession, turquoise stones acts as a form of old-age security. Draped over the top of a woman's head it looks like a raised cobra poised to strike. Resemblance is made stronger by the two black wool ear flaps worn at each side of the head.

Featured here is the most elegant and beautiful - Chamba, who is a resident of a little vilage called Chochutt.

A continuation to the "W for Waterfalls series", this is the landcape series from this months weekend trip. In terms of photographic oppurtunities, this was the best trip till date to Munnar and surrounding hills. For landscape, I played around with CPL filter a lot. I would recommend this filter to my friends, a must have for such shots.

This structure stands in Liberty State Park in Jersey City, NJ on the Hudson River across from lower Manhattan.

The shed is connected to the west side of the CRRNJ Terminal building. Trains would pull into the shed and the passengers could get off and walk through 3 buildings, protected from the elements. They would then board a ferry and continue their trip across the Hudson River into lower Manhattan.

The terminal and shed was built in 1889. From 1890-1915, tens of thousands of daily commuters would travel by train and than ferry to and from the CRRNJ Terminal. Ellis Island immigrants increased this traffic by several thousand each day. For these immigrants the CRRNJ Terminal was the "Gateway to America."

By the 1950s. the opening of the Hudson River tunnels and bridges to NYC and the decline of immigration brought an ending to many of NJ's railroads. The CRRNJ Terminal closed its doors in 1967 due to bankruptcy. In 1968 the terminal and waterfront were purchased with state and federal funds. The terminal was restored and turned into a State Liberty Park in 1976.

I loved visiting this place for the first time on Saturday. There were so many photo oppurtunities, the day was beautiful! I just cant understand how I have never visited this place being that I have lived in NJ, mostly my whole life. I only live about 20 mins from this gem. I will be making many more trips here in the summer thats for sure!

ik i just bought party yasmin but i am living for her and couldnt pass up another great oppurtunity to get her!

The most beautiful sunset I've ever seen.

My last night in Marseille: it was a very reluctant goodbye, an emotional moment due to this moving sunset and the

fresh memories of the wonders I had the oppurtunity to admire on the natural reserve of the Frioul archipelago during my trip.

Frioul archipelago, Marseille (France).

The Frioul archipelago is the limestone shadow off the coast of Marseille and is made up of four islands: Pomègues, Ratonneau, If and Tiboulen.

Original floral species flourish in the site’s arid microclimate. In total, 200 plant species can be observed and some are protected. Many seabirds also flock to these islands including the yellow-legged gull or “gabian” in Occitan.

The sea bass farm on Pomègues island has been recognised as the number one organic farm in the world.

The archipelago is part of the Calanques National Park and is a protected site where you can experience the real Mediterranean.

Rain, rain, rain - giving me an oppurtunity to do lots of chorse and clean out my iphoto - here is a shot from a few months ago - will be at least 6 months before we get the lovely warm sunsets again

A capture I still had in stock from that great photowalk in Gent with Erroba and Michael Rathmann. Now I can't make good captures of a church, so Erlend asked if I would test his fish-eye lens. Since we both use Canon, the lenses are interchangeable (thank God for that!). I am not a fish-eye addict, but open to every technique in photography I couldn't pass at such a great oppurtunity. I learned that using a fish-eye is very hard to master, since composition is very difficult. From the 30 captures I made with Erroba's lens, this is the only one I like.

Take a look at my Gent set to have an impression of the day.

For ages now, on my way to work, I've looked at the redundant gasometer and thought I should really take some pictures of it before it's demolished. Like the Nestles chimney, its one of those Salisbury landmarks from my childhood, that's going to disappear soon. My evening trip to Waitrose to take pictures of the Baron, gave me the oppurtunity to take some pictures.

Last weekend I planned two photoshoots, but both models cancelled :( So I took the oppurtunity to check out my medicinal clay ;) It was pretty hard to focus right @ f/1.4

Yongnuo 460 through small octabox camera left.

Forced to evacuate becuase of Irma I had the oppurtunity to spend few days in Fairhaven, close to Bellingham. I was really missing the mountains and the woods and this short trip has been so refreshing for my mind and my soul. I hope I can visit this place again.

Hi everyone! I was away this weekend visiting family in St-Catharines, Ontario & got the oppurtunity to go out photographing. How wonderful it was to finally have something new to shoot...:))) This bird portrait was taken at the "Bird Kingdom" in Niagara Falls, Ontario. What a neat experience it was to have birds flying all over the place...free as can be.

Happy Monday everyone...will try & catch up with you all asap! :)

Could the tide be any further out, could the sky be any grayer, could the cloud be any thicker. Light was none existent! But, i was on the beach with my camera, so I made the most of the oppurtunity!

he is not allowed to come close, touch feel, or hug during working hours...abba is reserve like most of the abbas ..and puttar is shy. They sell kheer ( rice pudding) in the main bazar of rang mahal. on my request to come close to each other and fit in my frame...they did not miss this oppurtunity to show and feel the love they have for each other. father son love is even more complicated in our society.

I have NEVER seen an Illinois Central SD70, and when I heard there was going to be not one, but TWO of them leading E251, I couldn't pass this oppurtunity up. Taken in Pontiac, Michigan.

Shot this on a complete impulse about an hour before sundown, cutting it fine is an understatement. I always find those are some of the best moments, though.

I have a lot of unwanted self doubt within myself and I think this image reflects that notion quite accurately. I enjoy every second of what I'm doing and am thankful I get the oppurtunity to do it as often as I like.

One from the Archives, actually I going throught shots to make up a Calender for one of our friends that are moving away from the area and says they'll miss seeing the mountains the most, so as I was going through looking for shots to use,I found thisone. My PS skills last April weren't good enough to do it justice, so I has kind of forgotten about it.

This was taken last April from out in my back pasture, We had gotten about 8" of snow overnite and the sky to the east was moving like crazy and looked like it could give me some nice oppurtunities. Well that didn;t pan out but as the pup and I we're walking back to the house this scene unfolded in front of me looking to the southwest.

Hope ya all have a great sunday.

Just a little MOC I threw together to showcase Brick Afflictions line of "Coalition" products all of which will soon be available. The Silverback design is by Legohaulic and then converted by myself with a little Pecovam style. -And yes Tyler, I still have the original model on my shelf:-), this is one I built with the instructions.

-Yes I did cut, paint, mod, glue, and make blood effects on my COG Silverback. Custom LEGO is about artistic development not leaving closed doors of oppurtunities to make things look the way we like them too. I hope you enjoy the photo.

Oh, what a wonderful World in which we live, we are so fortunate to have been given the oppurtunity to see God's wonderful creations. May all waring nations laydown there arms and expel the hatred in their hearts, so that the only Red that they see is of a beautiful morning or evening sky or beautiful Fall Colors and not of a red rage directed toward his fellow man and come to the relization that our time her is but a blink of an eye, why waste it in a rage of Red.

Another amazing custom set of armor from Hazel! All I can say is that these pieces are too much fun to paint! And for anyone out there who is a little hesitant, I assure you, atteempting to paint these extremely detailed pieces can only help to gain more skill! The armor is perfectly accurate as well as the backpack. The arms still move with the armor on even if you put BF vambraces on them as seen in my photos. The helmet speaks for itself and fits on perfectly and is very easy to get off. Not to mention the fact that Hazel has given everyone the oppurtunity to either leave the visor trans yellow, or paint it yourself. Great idea, and only extends the boundries of what these pieces can be used for. A must buy for any Hazel, Halo or custom lego fan for that matter! Keep an eye out for Pedro's post of when these become available in the coming days from his Bricklink store United Armory. Thanks Hazel, keep the awesome stuff coming!

In all the comotion of doing my exam, the flickrmeet and me playing with an iPad that isn’t kmine I completly neglected to show you my publication in Fonk magazine. My “Kabuki Scream” right on the frontpage and 4 pages of exposure of little old me ;-) So proud and so glad I got that oppurtunity. I wouldn’t mind getting more exposure ;-)

A Dutch version of the interview can be found in the media section of my site

The Outrider, Inspired by the Shadows of the Empire comics.

This vehicle was in my head for a very long time, and it was time for a MOC of this model.

In the end it took me more than a year on and off building before completing it.

Actual building time around 20 hours or so. The variety on source material made it a bit difficult to grasp the "real" version. The good part of this is that this gave me the oppurtunity to freestyle a bit here and there. Hope you like it!

To be honest, the photo's don't really do the model justice, need to work on my photography skills :/

First shot of the year and I wanted to use the key to symbolise the opening of a new year. Often people use this time of year as a starting point for new resolutions and other changes or pursuits that they wish to adopt come january 1st. So often we get caught in the same routine and hum drum but we all have the oppurtunity to make subtle changes, no matter whether you believe in resolutions or not. I am a believer in the Humanist perspective and the idea that you can open these doors and unlock your own potential if you have the desire and will to make the changes in your life.

Had a slightly different idea for this shot but i had just gotten off work and didn't want to go to a sketchy ass alley at 1am in the morning with all my gear. So in keeping with murder/jason theme for today my little brother jumped at the oppurtunity to " "stab" me. This shot is straight out of camera besides some post process in lightroom, it was done all in one shot no compositing done.

Not gonna lie, this is really just an excuse to use this picture I took...a while ago, and never got to use. Welp, I've found a use. It's also a nice oppurtunity to do a proper bio of my version of the Doctor, as I never quite got round to it.

This is the kinda thing I'm looking for in an entry. Of course, you could trade in the companions for a couple of villains. Or make a Tardis console room and put your Doctor in that. Right, I'm babbling, so I'll skip to the description.

So, this Doctor, the one in my series, has just come out of the Time war. He is approximately 900-ish years old and is in his 9th incarnation. since regenerating, he has a new lease on life, even if he is plagued by the demons of the time war. They will fade, hopefully. He's a fairly cheerful chap, always with a smile on his face. Unless someone threatens those he cares about. Then his smile turns to a frown, and his eyes burn with the fury of a thousand suns. In the time war he saw many die. Friends, family, innocent bystanders. But no more. e will never let anyone close to him get hurt ever again.

So, that's that. Have fun coming up with your entries, I can't wait to see them :D

Now this may not seem like a difficult shot , but this one, i guess was one of the hardest shots i took in 2006, the backlight was enormous, you know those after summer, low standing bright sunlight. It took me about 12 pictures to get this one right, with the mirror in the pool of water and the door opening not over exposed, i had to go as fast as 1/4000 ISO 100, f16 to really tighten the exposure. To get an idea of how this was like, i uploaded another image where you can see the image if it was just 0 EV and how much backlight there really was here. Imho this one really shows the power of HDR.

Shot at an abandoned part of Cockeril Sambre in Liege, one of the biggest iron industry plants.

BTW: CHEERS, HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL MY FLICKR FRIENDS!

2006 was an extremely succesfull year, i saw amazing things from oilplatforms to underground caves, castles to office buildings, and had great oppurtunities to shoot my stuff. I hope 2007 will be as good or even better for all of us!

A few weeks ago national monuments were opened to the public. Since I live closeby to the Van Nelle factory, I thought that it would be a great oppurtunity to finally see this place. Unfortunately the terrain was way too crowdy for what I had in mind and the weather was pretty gray. The latter did not make the editing any easier. It feels like I didn't get the white balance right in any of my shots (more can be found on my website by clicking the link below).

Pole Dancer: Megumi Yuzuki / 柚月恵

Couple of months ago I had this assignment to take some profile photos of a pole dancer, this was the first time for me to shoot someone doing this type of dance, and we did some very interesting stuff together. Her name is Megumi Yuzuki / 柚月恵, and she is one of the best pole dancers in Japan, she is very professional and also very easy to work with. We have also done some other shoots after this one, but the result from them I will upload later! In this article I will explain the strobist setup of the edgy lighting I've been using for her, and you can see some of the photos below!

Here is the whole article about the shoot on my Website! Check it out! Here I will mention just a little about it. In this shoot after a talk with my model, trying to analyze her I decided to go with some edgy lighting, thus putting some emphasize on her beautiful body lines. So I decided to use my strip lights from both sides diagonally and shoot without any light from the front side. I think this really created some images that show in a really good way her body structure. Then after some shots with only the strip lights, I thought to put some life into the background, so here came the flash gels, on this shoot I used blue and purple, as you will see on the shots I've uploaded down in the article! And after setting that, it was just about to shoot, she was now posing that much as she was just doing it the way when she is dancing, so I didn't have to tell her a lot what to do!

So, what is actually the pole dance? Well, maybe from the influence of the Hollywood movies, but the pole dance still has the reputation of strippers in the night club. Actually it is getting popular as an excercise and something to learn, also it is gving you the oppurtunity to practice and enjoy spins, acrobatics, floor movement and others tricky things! She is teaching students from 16 to 60 years of age, so you can do pole dance no matter what age you are, and no matter what job you are doing! Megumi is organizing a party called PDN. It has a different theme every time, for example doing collaboration with salsa and samba dancers, capoeira, or even jazz and and other types of live music combined with pole dancing to create an interesting show, and deliver their concept. Approximately 20 dancers perform on each show, and they dance until late in the night. Pole dance is a way for every woman to polish herself as a beautiful woman in a healthy way. You don't need to look like a celebrity or have amazing acrobat skills of an olympic player to do pole dance, it can be practiced by everyone no matter of social status and age!

では、ちょっと日本語で説明も入れますね!

Hi guys !

I've uploaded all these 4 images in bulk as I got them all in one day, a busy one at that.

Next week I will be displaying some of my work for young kids as they wander around our sports hall with the interest of Biology, Physics and Chemistry. They will have to match up the photo to the insect infront of them, so it should be a lot of fun, and hence the many images I've uploaded all at once.

On a quick trip to some woodland by our university, I looked under some old rotten wood and stones finding Beetles, spiders, Larvae and some woodlice !

It gave for a great oppurtunity for some early Spring photographing and the quality with the £30 objective I have retained for all 4 specimens !

Got my Nikon M plan 5x ordered so should be here soon for even sharper images !

hola!

2733 is still going strong in 2020 when I loaded this photo - but both the HLE 21s & 27s are due for withdrawal in 2023 and are not being fitted with ECTS.

As most of you know given the oppurtunity I love taking captures as close as I can to the subject & then cropping out just their faces.

This pup obviously wasn't expecting me since he didn't get cleaned up for his photo shoot...lol!

Have a great Wednesday! ☼

Yes Zeesi, it does fit a figure and even one of mine....with room to spare. Here are the photos you requested:-)

When I was in Harz, Germany I found a couple of these butterflies which was a first time for me. Not really spectacular or rare species but they have such a nice brown/white pattern, just had to have a nice capture of them. The weather wasn't great all the time so on the first oppurtunity with some decent light I went out.

Never noticed a butterfly turning his head, this one did and faced the camera several times.

This is Alex! I was fortunate enough to meet her and her brother Christian in New York a couple of weeks ago, and I am so glad I did. I have admired both of the Benetels for such a long time and the oppurtunity to meet them and shoot with them was an incredible experience. I really hope I get to see my Australian friends again soon, but until then I am glad just to say that I'm friends with two such talented photographers :)

Facebook!

It is never easy to grab a photo of North Yorkshire Police's traffic cars...... But every now and then an oppurtunity appears and has to be grabbed...... especially when one is parked on your workplace doorstep...... LOL

Along with a number of BMW traffic cars.... North Yorkshire also have a small number of Audi's such as this one. They also have some saloon versions but I believe they are used on ANPR work. YJ10HTD is an Audi A4 Avant Se Tdi Quattro Estate, and is seen attending a 999 call in Harrogate Town Centre

She is a stunner.....

A friend came over and took us her garden in the forest. There was lots of oppurtunity to play with my new camera!

The kitlens is quite OK. Even though it's only 18-55mm

I did almost drop my iphone in the water while bending over to make this picture

New Year's day. Rapsani.

The first day of 2010 at it's end, a whole fresh year full of oppurtunities and probabilities.

Take care people and have a great and creative new year! All the best...

Found this guy at 1:30P in my parent's backyard. What a treat, only my second time seeing one and my first oppurtunity to get a photograph

Well... They say god resides in magnificient homes. So they built amazing temples, gorgeous churches, fascinating synagogues, inspiring mosques...all over the world. But are we not a bit stupid to think that God is too big to fit into one temple....or rather even one religion.

We search for god in all of these places.

Yet we find no peace in our hearts. Maybe its time to start searching elsewhere. In everyday life.

God may appear in front of us. But we don't seem to see it, because we are looking elsewhere. If only we took some time to appreciate moments where God presents itself... Life would be different.

I saw this reflection in the street in Salzburg, outside the Demel Cafe. The rain had left a puddle of water, and the stunning St. Rupert's Cathedral was reflected in it. This reflection brought me so much joy, that I hardly felt the need to go inside the actual cathedral.

Our life presents myriad oppurtunities to realzie godliness. Do we take the time to soak it in? Take a moment to reflect about this.

Photographed with Fujifilm Finepix F10, Point and Shoot Camera.

Once again a testament that we don't need great cameras or great locations to make nice photos.

Have not have an oppurtunity to get out with the camera for a while, just shot this out my window for something to post.

Dark overcast skies so it's a little grainy.

Good news is that this Friday i am heading to Crater Lake for a full day of shooting with some stops for waterfall shots also.

Start looking for the pic's on Saturday, that way i can give you all a rest from my hummer shots.

HEY EVERYBODY.

So you know the saying that Photographers use the models they have, the props they have, items, whatever yeahh? You get it! Anyway that's exactly what I did today haha :3 *please note I don't consider myself a photographer, to anybody who'll be like OMG SHUT UP YOU IDIOT so yeee xD*

I have a lot to say about today haa *surprise* :3

The day itself was quite okay, I suppose, BUT THE BEST THING EVER HAPPENED. Shannon and I were the first to start an experiment in chemistry, and not the last to finish! AHHHHH. we were so proud! and we did the experiment right <3

We sound like such tards, but really, we fail everytime so yeah we're just celebrating :3 :3 :3

Actually nothing much else happened. I saved this muffin from yesterday just to photograph it BAHAHA cus its yummy c:
