at weekend, it is an incredible oppurtunity to relax and to get rid of boring city life when rowing on the lake through the sunset.
If you view my pictures pretty regularly then you know by now that I have a creek where I take my dogs to run. Well across the road from the entry to said creek is just the glimpse of a barn in the trees. If you have read my profile my first draw to photography is a passion for old barns. My husband happened to be home early yesterday and we decided to take the dogs to the creek. When he saw the barn he asked if I had phtographed it yet. Well there is a private drive that I have to enter in order to gain perspective so, being that it is usually always very early and me being alone as well, I hadn't ventured. So being a prime oppurtunity off we go. My husband being the biggest talker of the two of us jumps out as I pull up the drive with people coming out to see who was there. I grab the camera and he is making introductions. Well as it happens this land has been handed down generation to generation since 1837 in the Middleton family. The house and barn are original. The house has had some additions but still maintains the original structure since the early 1900's when additions were added. You know how when you tend to be around some old places and you get the creeps well not this place at all. It has warmth and charm I hope I captured a bit of. An antique buyer would go wild there!!!!! They are everywhere. Old farm implements an old refrigerator as you see. Tons of stuff. I was welcomed back anytime with a promised tour of thier family cemetary on the place as well as inside tour of the house. I wll definantly be back with notepad ready......VERY COOL!!!!!!!!
First Morning/Day in Degollado:
I felt rested, which was unexpected. We headed into the Plaza where we hung out for a bit. And it gave me an oppurtunity to grab the shots you've just seen.
I found myself looking everywhere, at everything and at everyone. It's always great to immerse yourself in an unfamiliar environment. Though, it wasn't completely foreign to me. It kept bringing back memories of my time in El Salvador.
Take this store for example.
We made our way to Ame's house where we met some of her family. Again, I felt very welcome. Across her house is an empty plot of land, where part of it is occupied by a thorny, greenish/blue agave plants. And up a few houses was this store. You will find these types of stores on almost every street. And being in one always takes me back to my childhood. Its a great feeling. They're not well lit, but it's better than the cold buzzing lights of say, a 7-Eleven. And they always have the best snack food.
Having touched base with some of Ame's family, we decided to take a trip outside of Degollado.
I was already in love with this place and it was only 2 in the afternoon. It's nothing like the major cities or towns I'm used to now, but it's everything like my childhood.

Still a few places available and if you would like to experience this rare and unique oppurtunity please email me at alanmcfadyen@ymail.com. Along with the Tawny Owl we have regular appearances from Sparrowhawk, Buzzard, Red Kite, Red Squirrel, Jay, Great Spotted Woodpecker, Nuthatch, Lesser Redpoll, Goldfinch, Siskin, Roe Deer and chances of Green Woodpecker too. This was taken today. I was not working but didn't really plan to shoot because it was raining heavily in the afternoon. When the weather is fine it was 5.30 pm & i just grab my stuff & head to this spot which is less 10 minutes drive from my home. But I underestimated the traffic & very frustrated looking at the wonderful big full soft orange sun is setting down in the horizon..ohh man!!! I missed it!! I'm still in the car..wargghhh. Feel like i just wanna drive back home for that missing oppurtunity.Hmmm..but i guess you just cannot feel lost for something that you don't have cause God will gives something back in another way & always even better than what you've missed. Peace to you my friend.
i don't specifically go out to shoot wildlife but i will always take the oppurtunity! here i feel the deer adds something special to this image. i wish i could have got this shot a bit higher quality but the light was so dim and i was shooting handheld. this was the single frame i captured before she ran off.
A night shoot at RAF Conningsby 13th October 2018, a great oppurtunity to get up close to the RAF GR4 Tornado, a plane that really packs a punch.
Taking the oppurtunity to dodge the showers the sun comeou for me to take this shot. Swaledale Yorkshire
Went Saturday to the orchards of a friend. I know that the goldfinches are there at this moment.
They always are together now, female and the male. Female is searching for nestmaterial in the blossom and branches and the male, like this one is watching everything.
The oppurtunity for me to capture these beautiful birds. My absolute favorites !
No camouflage, handheld shot.
Finding a fox den is probably one of the best photo oppurtunities for cute photos. The kits are naturally curious and are full of ambition. After visiting the den regularly, the kits will become comfortable with a humans presence.
This was taken on the tundra of Alaska's northern Arctic region. There were eight kits in this den and they were a hoot to photograph. This kit had just woke up from a nap and was sitting watching its siblings at play. I love its long tail, pointy nose and beautiful orange fur.
I no longer travel to the Arctic, did so for work, and I truly miss the wildlife of the North. In my ten years there, I was privileged to see both Red Fox and Arctic Fox, Wolves, Grizzly and Polar Bears, Musk Oxen, Caribou, and many different species of ducks, geese, raptors, owls and swans. The Arctic truly is a very special place for wildlife.

To my surprise its been over 2 years since I last photographed diving Kingfishers. However as the pool was frozen over today I took the oppurtunity to break a hole in the ice and watch the master getting some much needed food at this difficult time of year.

Awesome light today at Bandon Beach. The tide was very low so I had to literally get in the water to find some foreground interestingness. The tide can cover over 100 foot of beach so there is constantly changing compositional oppurtunities. Loved it and can't wait to go back!
A quiet evening at the island Hisingen with beautiful light oppurtunities.

Yet again more mobbing at the hide. Only 2 weeks left to give yourself an oppurtunity like photos like these. 4 very happy clients today.
2.000 meter hight of mountain snow will almost started to melt due to unexpected temperature during this season. So most of people saw remained snow as an oppurtunity for skiing at weekend like me.
Finally able to upload my biggest achievement ever - the Maroon 5 artwork I did this summer! I was absolutely flabbergasted at having such an amazing oppurtunity and I have YOU guys, the flickr community to thank!
The band had been browsing google for ideas for their new album "Hands All Over" - and when they typed it into the image search, this old, overly processed image of mine came up. Thanks to the amount of support you guys had given me and my stream, it showed up in the first page and they were able to follow my stream through and contact me.
The Power of the Internet is truly gobsmacking, and seriously, I owe you guys so much. I try and give back as much advice as I can on my formspring and on my blog, so if you have any qs, please ask away!! I'm going to be writing up a post soon about how to get jobs and clients, so this will be a great example for anyone who's having trouble.
And of course, huge huge credit goes to the artist who inspired my earlier image, so please check out Antonina Art!
Flickr, you are truly awesome and a wonderful community - my photography home! Love you guys so much, and can't tell you how grateful I am for meeting you guys.

One from last night when the pup and I went for a little road trip. Thought I better try once more for one of these cause the weather is suppose to warm up and I don;t think I'll have the oppurtunity to get any more of these. These conditions aren't that common around here, so I'm really glad to have been blessed with this series. The pup sure enjoyed being out for a good hike again too!
I think you'll like it better when you hit "L"
Have a great Earth Day everyone and remeber scenes like this make all our efforts to conserve and protect the earth worthwhile

This juvenile bird is shaking off excess water as seen in the photo. Also this and other juveniles were in hiding while the adults were mobbing a large Tawny eagle a few moments before I photographed this shot. Initially we thought it was hiding from us. Adults were loud enough to assure us of them being in hot pursuit of the large eagle in the sky, while simultaneously warning the chicks. After the danger passed this chick came quite close and gave us good oppurtunity to photograph while we were sleeping and waiting for these.

Hey guys,
Here's a photo I got today, 365 image stack of both Dmap and Pmax before some editing in photoshop only.
Insight - I used Bellows at 150mm and extension tubes 50mm worth with a Nikon M PLAN 10x on the end.
2.5 second exposure time for each photo and 345 photos, god blimey took a while :D
Stacking is manual and automatically stacked in zerene stacker
Lighting is from 2x LED Lamps from IKEA and lighting for background a cheap non-directional lamp on some card I bought, nothing special.
On the way up to the Campus, I found a jumper on a wall whilst walking with a mate and decided to go back to the same wall later to catch one. Luckily within seconds, I did just that.
I also caught an interesting moth and an ant that was feeding on something odd.
Spring is bloody amazing, loving this already and hopefully loads more to come over summer after my final examinations in 2 weeks time !
I will bang out some more over the next week as the ant and moth will go to dust otherwise as i have no means other than a freezer to store them.
I also have a 20x of this very spider to go up, not a great image, but worth an upload I suppose.
Keep well all, this weather's definately outdoor macro weather !
NB - My rail has seen better days and is no longer functioning very well... over editing and some mirroring will be seen, sorry about that.
Will spend summer building an entire new setup for the months of stacking ahead :)
Thanks so much for all these views :))) Ill use this oppurtunity to direct you to my facebook macro page ! www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Francis-Priors-Macro-Photograph... hehe
This will be my last photo for a while. As far I know, I won't have computer/internet access until July 2nd and even then there is no promise that I'll be able to upload anything.
I'm going to put a pause on my 365 project, because even though I know that I'll be taking photos everyday, I'd rather let it be because I want to rather than because I feel obliged to. I know that I will try my best to come around when I can and post some shots to let you know how things are going and where we are. If you're really interested, you can always go to our tour page here
otesha.ca/bike+tours/2010+tours/coast+to+capital/index.en... and read our journals and biographies and see where we're headed.
If you live in any of the cities listed on the agenda, I would love it if you came out to see our presentation, it's really fun and inspiring and I'd love the oppurtunity to meet some of you!
Wishing you all a summer filled with excitement, laughter, good memories and positive energy, I know mine will be :)
See you soon!
A rather over exposed moon gives the oppurtunity for the clouds to show what they got :-)
One man´s loss is another man´s gain, they say.
C/2021 A1 Leonard . Canon 5DSr on Skywatcher Quattro 250P , 4 X 30 sec exposures stacked . Have had nothing but clouds for weeks here, finally got a break in the weather and got my astro setup out again after a good 6 month break. Took a while to remember everything involved . had a 2 hour window of oppurtunity just after sunset to get the christmas comet through a tiny gap in the trees in my backyard .Not what I was hoping to get , but only having a tiny window of opurtunity and relearning all the parts and software to drive the telescope , here is my attempt of Comet Leonard .
A lovely photo oppurtunity as water gushes through the worn and batterd lock gates at Cape Bottom Lock No 24 Warwick

When i took this something bit me, a horse fly i think. My hand swelled up like i'd broken it! Thankfully today it started to return to normal, still damn itchy though!
Just around the corner from my house so next time i will have to be more prepared! I say that but there hasnt been too manu oppurtunities for sunsets! The weather has been rubbish!
I know its not the best of photos but, its a rare one! Ever since i have lived in the area i have wanted to get a photo of a train on the Down Fast line of the WCML at Cooks Wharf near Cheddington. Until today all photos have been going away pictures. The unfortunate disabling of 350124 on Thursday 28th October at Berkhamsted afforded me the rare oppurtunity to photograh a loco on the South end of a train here! 37510 brings up the rear whilst 57312 hauls a defective 350124 on wheelskates fron Berkhamsted to Northampton Kings Heath EMUD on the afternoon of 30th October 2021. Photo: Ivan Stewart.
Reflecting on the day's duties, with the big day to go.
An end of a shunting shift for No. 55189 in preperation for a photo charter, she is likely the first of the Bo'ness home fleet to face East in many decades. Wanting to test out some new LED lights ahead of the November photo charters, the rarity of this scene was too good an oppurtunity to waste!
Had a walk along the seafront last night looking for photo oppurtunities and found one in the form af a big rock and a timber path towards the sea.
This is a 122 second exposure using my B+W 10 stop filter.
At the end of the winter, i saw as an oppurtunity to spend enjoyable time on the snow-covered earth.
This photo was shot on my way to Pondicherry. The huts, the trees and the river behind was quiet attractive.
The scene gave me a good oppurtunity to play with white balance after reading the article in malayali kootam.
Thanks to Challiyan for starting the thread and Shahin and all others who posted the tips in the thread. Really Appreciate it Guys.
This snap is dedicated specially to the people above and to all MalayaliKoottam Members.
I got the oppurtunity to shot Miss Wana when Capturepix's Studio testing their new lighting studio with Miss Wana a freelance model.
Thanks you guy for the sharing.
Taken at the German market in Birmingham today. Ended up wasting my money on things I don't really need or like yet I seem to come back every year! I saw this guy watching his son ride around and took it as a perfect photo oppurtunity.
