With the F2000 lower receiver being the base for many, many of my own guns (and many other SPW builders) I felt the Operator series was missing a bona-fide F2000. So here it is!

Featuring Xanatos' fold-out vert foregrip/flashlight combo and sight, the SPW F2000 takes many concepts from the PRC-90. It features forward side rails and heat dispersion vents, a heavy barrel for increased reliability, an adjustable buttplate, interchangeable cheekrest, a forward assist to push through jams and adjustable flip-up iron sights. A unique forward-ported flash hider keeps a short profile while actively channeling muzzle flash away from the line of sight.

I saw Xanatos' C3D assault rifle while thumbing through my favorites for inspiration, and immediately knew that the foregrip would fit an F2000 perfectly. Turns out, it's actually absolutely epic. Credit also to Gardehusar for the switch idea on the buttplate slider.

The images here from my own collection. They are a combination of my own photographs, as well as those acquired over 40+ years through trading, purchasing, and attending various slide events around the world.

REMARKS:

Yeah It's spring break and I got bored. I haven't actually sculpted in like 2 months, so the vest kinda sucks. The hood is E-tape, and the pouch on the right is supposed to be a canteen pouch, the pack pack is based off the TT 3 day assault pack.

All in all I think I did rather well considering he only took like an hour and a half to make. :3

Check out the rear view in the comments below, and don't forget to fave and comment. :)

God bless and have a fantabulous day.

SPW Operator .308 AK with the Chainsaw...Why? Because we can ;)

As a result of a few too many glasses of Jack Daniels, Sweetwater gunsmith Josh, developed the CLAW, or Chainsaw Like Assault Weapon; A heavily customized Saiga .308 rifle featuring ergonomics found on AR type rifles. The cornerstone of the CLAW is it's high-strength, Tacticool Chainsaw, Which can be used for cutting down or through doors, or sawing a insurgents chest in two, it's really up to you.

Comment if you want me to give the code for the SPW Chainsaw :)

Westland Lysander Mk III (Shuttleworth Collection). The Lysander's best known role was its use by the Special Operations Executive (SOE) with its remarkable short take-off and landing capabilities for clandestine night operations into occupied Europe, ferrying agents into and out of small fields marked out by the Resistance.

Built in 1955.

Lekki Conservation Centre, Lagos, Nigeria.

When a bus operator needed a 'hack' or a specialist vehicle, quite often the first place they looked was the back of the depot. For old buses, especially the traditional front-engined type, were ideal for conversion into a breakdown lorry, trolleybus pole carrier or tower wagon. And a large operator would have a workshop with skilled craftsmen who could do all the work when things were less busy.

Ashton Corporation converted this double-deck Leyland, number 6, into a handy lorry-cum-hack at the end of its service life. It had a small crew compartment just behind the driver's cab, and the rest was a long-flat floor ideal for general carrying jobs.

The red and white plate on the front is a 'Trade Plate' - requirements have tightened up considerably since this photo was taken, but in essence it was a plate that (at that time) a motor company could put on a vehicle that wasn't taxed or licensed.

It was so useful that 'Thunderbird', as it was dubbed, lasted long enough to be painted in SELNEC orange and off-white and eventually donated to the Museum of Transport where she became a very useful source of spare parts - many of its components are still doing a useful job to this day in the museum's buses.

You don't see vehicles of this kind today, partly due to increasing bus complexity but also because these converted buses were at times a 'grey area' and VOSA, the authority that looks after this kind of thing, is less inclined to turn a blind eye to buses that have become lorries but are still licensed as buses...

Thank you to everyone who advised us that the 'Robin Hood' pub behind is nowhere near Ashton but is in fact in Bury, close to the old Bury Corporation bus garage. This leads us to wonder if the photo was taken in the very early days of the new SELNEC PTE.

If you'd like to see the buses that Ashton 6's components went to help, come and see them at the Museum of Transport Greater Manchester or go to motgm.uk.
