I'd photographed this spot a few times before but never as well as I'd liked, so with the word that the Mass Central Railroad would be using their relatively recently refurbished and repainted GP9 in service I went out two days in a row. This spot along their mainline at MP 6 is a signature photo location where the tracks cross a small causeway over the swamp between Forest Lake and the Ware River just south of the Bennett Road grade crossing in the Whipples section of town. With the maples at peak color along the waters edge I tried three different takes on this spot. Which is your favorite?
Having wrapped up their work a little earlier than usual the PA-2 crew was headed back south just early enough to try the broadside shot here. MCER GP9 1749 (ex CO 6199 blt. Dec. 1956) and GP38-2 1751 (ex PC 7997 blt. Jun. 1972) are dressed in a sharp scheme that mirrors the original Boston and Maine bluebird colors debuted on their GP9 order of 1957.
This route traces its history back to 1870 when the Ware Rive Railroad opened the first 16 miles to Gilbertville. Three years later the full 49 miles was opened to Winchendon and that same year the line came under the control of the Boston and Albany Railroad which operated it as one of its few branch lines.
The modern Massachusetts Central Railroad dates back to 1975 when the company was established by grant of the first railroad charter issued in the commonwealth since 1910. The new iteration of the road had big dreams of saving the remnants of the original ex Boston and Maine Central Mass Branch but it wasn’t to be. While they did take over the three mile spur to Bondsville and the yard trackage in Ware they only operated the former for a about a year (though 40 years later the rails and ties remain amidst the forest).
Meanwhile the former Boston and Albany Ware River Branch had been cropped back from Winchendon to South Barre by the Penn Central in 1968 when the northern 25 miles were abandoned. Eight years later the remaining 25 miles were not included in the USRA’s Final System Plan for Conrail. The Commonwealth picked up the trackage and contracted with Conrail to operate it for the first three years. In December 1979 the new Mass Central was named designated operator of the state trackage and has continued to operate it ever since.

The Kam Pong Plouk Women’s Boat Community provide boat tour services to visitors visiting the flooded forest and floating villages. Most of the women in this community are small boat operators (rowing boats) to take tourists inside the flooded forest, This helps them earn extra money to support their families and send their children to school.

This is the big one. A warm-up, if you will, to show that I can super-detail on a preset. Next, for my final SPW trial, I'll try to achieve the same level of detail on an original design.

Heh, been a while since I've posted. I'm not dead, just extremely busy!
As per commission, I've made a figure based on this, but with a different weapon and some modifications.
This was extremely fun to make, as I got to use a casted version of my slimmed torsos, hips, and legs (a product I'm thinking of offering). Additionally, I sculpted a helmet cover over a heavily modified Combat Brick helmet, using Tiny Tactical's amazing helmet rails and NVG mount. The rails on the gun were sculpted, along with most of the pockets and a few pouches.
This was also my first time painting multicam and woodland camo on a figure.

Dylan's post the other day [https://www.flickr.com/photos/lego_armed-forces/32319792464/in/dateposted/] really inspired me to try multicam again and I knew that I wanted to have another go at my old favourite SEAL Team 6/DEVGRU operator.
This figure is comprised of mostly my cast pieces and complimented with a Tiny Tactical weapon, attachments and some other TT parts (chem lights, radio, knee pads, carabiner and admin pouch).
The G-Bricks parts in this figure are:

-Mechanix Gloves
-New torso (includes shemagh), new legs and new arm assemblies, which will be available individually.
The legs were sculpted without knee pads, so they will have wider scope for use. Also the pockets on the arms are more generic looking on the actual casts (these have been modified) again, so they can have a slightly wider scope for use.
Lastly, I know that I've done this figure loads of times already, but I think this one is nicer looking than the other versions I've made ; )
BLS has taken over the long-distance line between Basel and Bern. Therefore the Interregio is now operated with BLS MUTZ.

In February two changes took place on the line between Wesel and Bocholt. Firstly the operator changed from Abellio NRW to VIAS after Abellio pulled out of their contracts in NRW. Secondly, the newly electrified line was opened which means that the LINT DMU's have been replaced with the electric FLIRT's. Bocholt now enjoys a direct connection to Düsseldorf Hbf as service RE19 now couples up with the RE19 from Arnhem to travel together to Düsseldorf.
