Sweater concepts for The Mission Objective

Objective was to attain a shield to protect the dash from flying stuff, nothing more, nothing less. And this shield does the job for me!

Objective 3: Elements and Principles of Design

The principles of design demonstrated (describe the use):

- Contrast, there is a big difference in contrast in this photo. The light to dark on his face is a huge difference. This light and dark gives the photo a very suspenseful feel.

The elements of design demonstrated (describe the use):

- Shape, the head and shoulders make a triangle which creates a strong, intense feel.

- Form, the light is not completely harsh it is somewhat diffused so there is some light rapping around the face which creates a 3D look. Also his face is far from the wall so you can see a 3D look there too.

- Space, his face is the positive space and the focal point. While the wall and everything else is negative space.

- Value, his face and shirt are the same colours but have different shades throughout because of the light.

Objective 4: Lighting

Type of lighting and why: - Harsh, side lighting. I had my model stand beside a window that had more of harsh lighting because it creates a very big change in light and dark which creates a dark, mysterious feel that I wanted to capture in the photo. I also used side lighting to have one side of his face and eye bright and visible and the other almost completely not visible.

Objective 5: Post Production

Corrections/adjustments made: - I resized the photo for flickr. I added some sharpening and adjusted the contrast a little to make a really dark look on his face. I used the dodge tool on the eye to make it more bright and stand out more. I added a black border for an even more dark feel.

Objective 6: Critique

-I could of used exposure composition to create the light and dark on the photo instead of using curves on photo shop, I think that would of made the photo look better. The back round is very plain and is not a distraction for the eye which is good. The head tilt Conor has creates many feelings which I think benefit the photos feel.

Corazon Center supports the learning objectives of 20 Guatemalan women weavers and their children who were displaced during their country’s civil war. Within a community context, children under five receive school readiness activities; older children receive courses for academic enrichment and creative expression; the women receive courses in self-esteem, understanding their children’s development stages, healthy family relationships, and more depending upon their interests. I met these women while volunteering in Guatemala. They inspired me to create a fair trade business, Corazon Boutique, as well as partner with them in this education project.

The Mech destroyed the AD Van, Sensors, and one Launcher meeting its primary objective. It heads to the next priority targets which are off board. The Steiners hang tough as it sweeps them with APW again to no avail. The Steiners lost the AD Van crew and three other squaddies. The Clan Elementals took out the Kurita Command Squad (they capture the Platoon Leader), the Heavy Weapons Squad, and a Line Squad. The Steiners were in no danger of loosing the town and the Kuritas infantry are forced to withdraw again. Unfortunately, the Steiners will have to reallocate precious AD assets to resume the AD umbrella.

Title of photo: dandelion

What am I marking? Which photo? For example, Photo #2

photo #4

Objective 5: Post Production (ex. dust/spot removal, resize, contrast, white balance, sharpening, borders, etc.)

Corrections/adjustments made AND/OR techniques applied:

This picture looked terrible without Photoshop. The colors of the background and foreground were very similar. I added a lot of contrast and sharpening to get the focus on the dandelion and I am happy with what it looks like now. I especially like the pink part of the dandelion. I also resized the image and cloded part of the background so that it was all green.

Objective 6: Critique

Analyse your photograph for strengths and areas for improvement (consider elements and principles of design, lighting, exposure, overall feel, etc.)

I am very happy with the blurriness of the background, but if I was to shoot it again I would try to get rid of the distracting background as I took the picture instead of fixing it in Photoshop because no that I look at it more I realize that part of the dandelion is partly cloned right above it.

Objective 7: Photographic Styles (ex. portrait, landscape, etc.) – Explain why the settings and composition are appropriate for the style of photography. (How did you create the shot?) You do NOT need to do Objective 2 if you are handing in this objective.

Type/style of photography: nature

The camera mode (P, Tv, Av, M): Av, I shot in av mode so that I could control the aperture

f stop used: 5.6 I used this f stop to have the dandelion in focus and make the background blurry

shutter speed used:1/4000 I used this shutter speed to prevent camera shake.

ISO used:1600, I used a high ISO because it was shady.

Exposure compensation:
