We don't read and write poetry because it's cute. We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race. And the human race is filled with passion. And medicine, law, business, engineering, these are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for. To quote from Whitman, "O me! O life!... of the questions of these recurring; of the endless trains of the faithless... of cities filled with the foolish; what good amid these, O me, O life?" Answer. That you are here - that life exists, and identity; that the powerful play goes on and you may contribute a verse. That the powerful play *goes on* and you may contribute a verse. What will your verse be?

I had a few minutes at work to sneak a few shots of the golden morning light soaking the tops of Lower Manhattan. The man made canyons of Fidi create beautiful contrasts of natural light and shadows that create three-dimensional compositions.
Who loves walking across the Brooklyn Bridge?
I just love this view of Lower Manhattan enjoying the hustle and bustle and dicing with death with the cyclists.
Sunset as seen while standing on the Brooklyn Bridge facing towards the New York City skyline.
(last night! taken with my Sony A7RII)
What a sunset!

This was taken many months ago. I can't believe I'm just posting it now. The New York City Skyline at sunset. The sunset was happening directly behind me. I turned around and was just able to get the resonating pinks glowing off of the sides of the buildings. This is a 9 vertical shot pano taken from Liberty State Park in Jersey City. The pano stretching added a weird effect to the clouds. They almost looked cloned stamped. I swear they are not. I try to go here every time I go to the East Coast. Great view.
