I shot this picture of midtown back in July on the NJ side of the Hudson.

The triangular residential building known as, "Via 57 West" is in my personal opinion, one of the coolest & most interesting modern era architectural building designs in New York City's ever growing skyline.

This picture was captured on the NJ side of the Hudson River.

Took this last night. I have no idea why they had them. This is the second barge. About 1/2 hour earlier there was a barge up by me that put on a short display.

NYC lit up its skyline with Pink and Purple for Valentine's Day; as if we didn't love NYC enough.

Taken last night from the balcony.

Last night was one of those magical nights!

The iconic Brooklyn Bridge, my favourite place in New York, hope you like it in black & white?

Brooklyn Bridge was the first fixed crossing of the East River opened in 1883. It was also the longest suspension bridge in the world at the time of its opening, with a main span of 1,595.5 feet (486.3 m) and a deck 127 ft (38.7 m) above mean high water. The span was originally called the New York and Brooklyn Bridge or the East River Bridge but was officially renamed the Brooklyn Bridge in 1915.

The Brooklyn Bridge is the southernmost of four toll-free vehicular bridges connecting Manhattan Island and Long Island, with the Manhattan, Williamsburg, and Queensboro bridges to the north. Only passenger vehicles and pedestrian and bicycle traffic are permitted. A major tourist attraction since its opening, the Brooklyn Bridge has become an icon of New York City.

Pulled from the archives. A memory from the night I shot at the abandoned Jersey City pier with a group of other passionate photogs. I'm not sure if this place is accessible anymore, there may be new condos placed on the empty lot. It's been a while since I was there back in 2016 and a lot has changed since. It was sort of an adventure to gain access to this location because we had to hop a fence or two as well as climb through a few open spots in another fence. This location was amazing as it sat directly across the Hudson from the WTC.

This was shot two nights ago. I have no idea why they had them.

Times Square, Manhattan, New York (NYC)

History of this place

Times Square is a major commercial intersection in central Manhattan at the junction of Broadway and Seventh Avenue. It acquired its name in 1904 when Albert Ochs, publisher of The New York Times, moved the newspaper's headquarters to a new skyscraper on what was then known as Longacre Square. The name stuck, even after The New York Times moved across Broadway in 1913.

Longacre Square started with a few brownstones built by a developer who saw potential for a new "uptown" neighborhood. Following the area's development, people moved to the square in droves, and with them came brothels, pickpockets, and streetwalkers. Soon, in a foreshadowing of its later fate, the area turned into a veritable red-light district. In 1895, Longacre Square had a new tenant, Oscar Hammerstein I, who developed a large entertainment complex in the hopes of rekindling an interest in opera. This complex, called the Olympia, occupied a full block on 42nd Street and featured three theaters.

During this time, many new theaters opened on the Great White Way, so named for Broadway's famous light show. The vaudeville circuit found success along with legitimate theater. In 1904, The New York Times held a New Year's Eve event to celebrate their relocation to Longacre Square. Their building was then the second tallest in Manhattan and became the symbol for a new, vibrant era of opportunity. Every year since this first celebration, millions of people have gathered for the well-known and much anticipated ball drop ceremony.

This was taken yesterday morning.

Another shot from this past Saturday. George Washington Bridge off in the distance.

Taken the same night as the previous pic. Had to crop this one to get rid of some stuff on the Jersey shoreline.

The rain stopped last night but it was still foggy.

Late night WTC view from West Broadway. It was close to midnight so the spire lighting of the WTC was off when I took this picture. With the fog at the top I would've preferred the spire to be lit.

Here's an old shot from January '05. Take notice of the ice on the river. It was very cold that week.
