A visit to Brooklyn Bridge Park on 10.10.15, getting there just in time for sunset, and stayed in the park until night.
Hey,
These photos were taken September 4th, 2015.
I wanted to visit World Trade Center now known as Ground Zero or the 9-11 Memorial. I visit here a lot because it is always changing but I am also obsessed with the Freedom Tower. I think I am still getting used to it. Honestly, I don't I will ever get use to it. It feels like I lost a relative and another is trying to step in feel that void. There is nothing like the Twin Towers but the Freedom Tower is a close second and a beautiful sight.
I like to come down and reminisce. It still has a eerie feel as us NYers are all still affected by the events. I usually come down and take pix with phone. However, rather than seeing it through the lens of my phone I wanted to capture through my camera.
Almost 15 years later things still are not complete here but the transition is huge and ever changing. It is starting to boom again with young professionals and tourists which is great.
I must say I am very happy and proud NYer.

Enjoy :) These are just in time for the September 11th Tribute. Here is my tribute, I guess :)
Cheers,

It was the night before the 10th anniversary of 9/11, I finally saw the Freedom Tower rising in the horizon. It is a bitter sweet feeling when I look at it.
But I know in the end that good will win evil and freedom will reign!!!!!!!!

A walk across Brooklyn Bridge on 05.30.15 and ending in Brooklyn Bridge Park.
At the park, I came across several art installation of Jeppe Hein for the Public Art Fund. There was also a telescope exhibit where I was able to see clearly a part of Brooklyn Bridge a few miles away.

A ride on the fire boat the John J Harvey from 23rd Street up to Riverdale in the Bronx for the Riverdale Riverfest, which was promoting plans for the Riverdale section of the Hudson River Greenway. These are pics of Manhattan's west side along the Hudson River.
A Father's Day cruise along the Hudson River on 06.19.16. We were at the North River Lobster boat which left Pier 81 about an hour before sunset. The boat traveled north on the river with the 72nd Street basin in sight, then it turned back to return to the pier. On our return, I saw the full moon rising and tried to get some shots of the moon in between the builidngs, a moonhenge!

A visit to the Statue of Liberty on 01.30.16. The snow from Blizzard Jonas was still visible in some areas of the city. It was great to see the lady up close. Afterwards, I walked around Battery Park City.

A short visit to the southern tip of Roosevelt Island on 04.26.14. The white cherry trees were in full bloom while the pink ones were starting to bud, a wonderful sight on a spring day. The island also has awesome views of midtown Manhattan.

Joined an instagram meet on 02.07.15 at the Liberty State Park in New Jersey sponsored by Mashable. The park has great views of lower Manhattan, the back part of the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island.
The park is home to the Empty Sky Memorial, dedicated to the New Jersey victims of the 9/11 attacks. The landmarked but abandoned Central Railroad of New Jersey Terminal is also in the park.
There was a winter storm a few days before the meet, the park looked lovely in the snow, and sunset over Ellis Island was a great way to end the day.

A visit to Roosevelt Island on 03.30.16 The cherry trees were budding and Midtown East looks great across the East River.
A walk along Park Avenue on 06.14.14 to view Alice Aycock's Paper Chase sculptures. The building patterns along Park Avenue is fascinating.

My attempt at good HDR. This is eleven exposures ranging from -5 to +5 EV at 1 stop intervals, combined in Photomatix 3.1. Empire State Building is out of focus; smaller aperture next time.

A walk along the Newport/Hoboken waterfront in New Jersey on 06.28.15. We started at the Newport Lighthouse Park which is home to the Lefrak Point Lighthouse and has great views of the Manhattan skyline.
That night, the One World Trade Center spire and the Empire State Building were both shining in rainbow colors in celebration on Pride Week in NYC.
By the time we were in Hoboken, there were fireworks over the Hudson River to cap off the celebration.
