When I walked up to this barn it was about 22F with a strong wind, there is something dead in this building. It could be a raccoon or a rabbit, but as strong as the smell is with that cold of a temperature, I suspect it is something bigger.
I'll be notifying the sheriff so they can have someone poke a nose in there (rather them than me) and see what is dead.

He performed a feline jump and almost managed to catch it. This mysterious visitor had taken one of the swords from his brother's cabin, and he would have run if he hadn't seen a bright reflection out of the corner of his eye. Infamous thief! So he was the one who had taken all the things that had disappeared in the last few weeks! Based on his clothes, he may have been from the town I went to, a month ago, to buy some potions that our healer needed. I felt guilty: he had followed me. He spun around and I found myself coiled in a vise between his legs. I managed to twist one of her hands and it gave enough for her to escape the deadly embrace, but I tumbled down a slight incline. I jumped up… But it was too late. Taking advantage of the fact that he was free, he ran away.
It was easy for me to follow him, because we are track experts and I know my land like the back of his hand, but he was out on the plains before he caught him again. When I came out of the woods he was riding away on a horse that he must have tied up waiting for him. What a frustrating! I only had to notify my queen and take action...

This is Mia, a grown-up female dog which looks kind and friendly. She is indeed, but not to the people whose faces are new to her. Once she sees any strangers enter the front gate from her shelter, which is located just a few meters away from it, she will angrily and continuously bark loud to notify her master of the presence of possible intruders.

Sunset over Chureito Pagoda, Fujiyoshida, Japan
Monday saw us drive to the iconic Chureito Pagoda for sunset. We arrived in good time and set off up the 400 steps to the viewing platform. I was amazed at just how busy it was and we had to queue to enter the viewing area but wow, it was sure worth the view.
No tripods were allowed during the busy times but as the sun fell, the staff left so out came the three legged beast. The cherry blossom trees were out in force and Francis (my guide) informed me that it was the first time that he had seen such a great blossom bloom.
For those interested, the pagoda is part of the Arakura Sengen Shrine and was built as a peace memorial in 1963 nearly 400 steps up the mountain from the shrine's main buildings. All I know is that it looks very beautiful and even more so when photographed in conjunction with Mt Fuji in the background.

Taken in excellent company. The nice male came to rest among the branches of a Juniperus sp. and Maria notified us of his presence, so without loss of time we hurried to photograph him.

Morning Rocky Mountaineer Snow I was notified a few days ago about the consist of the Rocky Mountaineer being used for a charter to Las Vegas Friday November 4, 2022. To our surprise this late in the year a remote chance for a glorious snow shot with a glorious RM! What are the odds, full sun, sticky 6” of snow. 45 minutes before this scene was snapped it was still overcast in low clouds, a fog with snow falling, very typical; and still snowing at the Divide! 11/4/22

Pas très longtemps après m'être repositionné afin d'obtenir un angle différent de ma première image le bébé # 1 qui dormait beaucoup, il a soudainement bailler alors que je venais de finir mes ajustements et voici ce que ça donné, le vert presque fluorescent est le résultat de l'exposition lente et de la forte lumière du soleil traversant le canapé de feuilles et non un choix du photographe... Je m'étais d'ailleurs déplacé dans l'espoir d'atténuer cet effet mais sans résultat.
Attention...
La raison pour laquelle je ne partage pas le lieu exact de ce magnifique spectacle de chouettes est simple, le lendemain de ma visite avec l'ami qui m'y avait accompagné. Ami que j'avais rencontré pour la deuxième fois par pur hasard au même endroit qu'à notre première rencontre en avril à Mud Lake Ottawa. Cet ami est retourné voir les bébés Chouettes rayés a été interpellé sa sortie des sentiers de cette magnifique forêt publique et organisée par un groupe d'individus plus que louches qui interpellaient tous les photographes et réclamaient tous leurs équipements sous la menace ? Il m'a informé qu'ils étaient très organisés et non pas des petits voyous à leur tout début... Des véhicules avec des complices surveillent les routes menant au site et avisent si des policiers sont en route. C'est la première fois que j'entendais une telle histoire comme quoi il faut être très prudent et ne pas se déplacer seul dans ces endroits reconnus pour attirer des photographes....

Not long after repositioning myself to get a different angle from my first picture previously posted of the baby # 1 who was sleeping a lot, he suddenly yawn when I had just finished making my setting and here's the shot, the almost. Fluorescent green is the result of the slow exposure and the strong light from the sun crossing the leaves canopy and not a choice from the photographer ... I had also moved in the hope of minimising this effect but without result.
The reason I do not share the exact location of this magnificent owl show is simple, the day after my visit with the friend who as show me the place. Friend I had met for the second time by chance again at the same place as at our first meeting in April at Mud Lake Ottawa. This friend returned to see the baby Owls and on his way out after is photo session of that beautiful public forest, he was stop by bads individuals who arrast the photographers and wanted all their equipment under threat? He informed me that they were very organized and not little thefs at their very beginning ... They ad vehicles with accomplices monitor the roads leading to the site and notifying them if police were on there way. This is the first time I've heard such a story, so one as to be very cautious and do not travel alone in these public places known to attract photographers ....

Just a bit of morning color from the backyard before I do a little yard work with the leaves. The light was just too good to pass up. Hope everyone is having a great week! Once again I've been experiencing kind of crazy flickr activity, for the last day I could only see the pictures from one contact, about a dozen that just went on and on. Flickr authorities have been notified and today it seems to be back to normal!!

When I photographed this, a few days ago at Conowingo Dam in Maryland, I had no idea what it was. I had never seen anything like it before. I made a guess that it was some type of planthopper, due to similarities in body structure. I was right but it also turned out to be a Spotted Lanternfly nymph. These are invasive and were never seen in Maryland until October of 2018. The U.S. Department of Agriculture askes to be notified of any Spotted Lanternfly sightings in Maryland and request that they be killed after taking a photo of them for reporting purposes.

In a more serious note – I still have to look back to the recent happenings. And it was not so nice ones.
Basically, showed me how changing the head people – whole spirit of the event can change. So – the event (under different names) I blog for like almost 3 years – happen to be a downfall of my emotional life. Under the circumstances of not being able to blog – simple because there was nothing to blog since event was on break due to shift of head people – I got warned. I got humiliated how I don’t have active blog. I got notice, half-able to read since it was not on even basic english, saying how – I’m not good. I’m not wanted. I’m LAZY. No matter I almost always produce the same number of images and it was never a problem before. Not in those words but still… then done what I could, when event started – then got kicked. Without notice, goodbye or even a – explanation?
Why am I saying this?
Why?
DESIGNERS.
EVENT MANAGERS.
Please.
Respect your bloggers.
Not because one blogger is telling you to do it, but because there is a million living people behind those avatars.
People who sometimes get bond with you, with your creations, with limited opportunity to wear/live/be whatever you imagine us to be.
Because some of us is not about NUMBERS. Some of us is not made to make a thousands of similar/same images just changing outfits…
Some of us strive to EXIST.
So let us do it.
Don’t judge us by requirements made to limit the blogger’s list and to produce senseless creations nobody will even take a look (and I am not trying to offend anyone, just to share something that is happening today).
Don’t made it impossible to love you.
Because, some of us – is simple here to stay. For long. As long as there is this virtual game. The world where we exist beyond borders.
Your creations will be promoted, you will make a money, world will kept spinning – but the bonds, the virtual ones is hard to make.
So if you ever do – don’t let it goes away.
Because – in some point of my life – acceptance and admiration is more important than anything, as I realized. The people, not matter and things.

sorry, I forgot to post here. So... here it is.

The Coast Guard notified boaters that they couldn't anchor in the Ohio River due to high water and a fast current. A day later the Coast Guard allowed boats to anchor for the Sunday evening fireworks....the river was much lower. These boaters will have to wait ten hours for the display. That's a lot of exposure to the sun. Image captured at Covington, Kentucky.

A pair of CSX motors snake their way into Maple Lake on CP 645. I got notified about this train when it was leaving St. Paul, and I wasn't gonna pass up the opportunity to shoot a CSX MAC leading on a clear winter afternoon.
Having grandchildren discover insects on their toys is beneficial. When they also run to notify you without disturbing said insect, it is glorious! Perhaps my identification skills are incorrect, but this beauty might be a Yellow Striped Armyworm Moth.
