This picture is very far from being perfect. But it doesn't matter. It is the beginning of a new perspective. At this point, I'm not sure that I will make it. It is very hard to start a 365 day project! But I will do my best to accomplish my objective! So let's my 365 day journey begin!
Update Decembre 15th 2015 : going back to old pics... ha ha ha^^

American economic policy has dominated most of the current national political campaign. As important as our Nation’s economic strength and vitality clearly must be, it cannot overshadow the role international affairs continues to play and, most definitely will play, in assuring our overall national well-being. Join us as former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice reflects on the world situation today, the unprecedented challenges before us, and why America must not forsake a strong leadership role in the international arena.

2012 began in the worst possible manner for me.
I can't believe all these bad things keep happening to me, my family, my friends...
I've never seen such a series of bad luck.
Today is Sunday... I'm just hoping this new week will give us a new vision of 2012.
As the last lonely leaves fall from our beautiful tree’s..a new beginning happens.
Take a moment to stop and stare at their beauty before its gone for another year.
Dedicated to all you lovely leaves! :-)

i've started a new side-project to co-incide with a new chapter of life.
a personal documentary of my life in photos, with the occasional self portrait but one mainly inspired by memories - i've been so inspired by life, about life and how precious it is and simply, you can never have too many photos.

odc: fresh start / new beginning
currently working on redesigning my website. the previous flash site was working well but had major trouble with search engines which required nasty work-around which those engine really don't like. the new site will also be much easier to maintain because it's wordpress powered and is designed for ease of use. it's a highly flexible system though and i'm having great fun puzzling it all together.
the way this shot turned out initially i wasnt' happy with but it was really about the only idea i had for today. so while a bed shot won't ever get good it's now atleast over-the-top on it's own lol. sorry about that... :) it's sort of similar to the car interior from a few days back although this isn't HDR. it's a single shot, desaturated and dirtied up with some preset in topaz. although it's presets i find kinda overdone in general, i did like what it did here for a once in a while thing
went to the hospital today for my ear. got an hearing test which proved my right ear isn't up to spec. the nasal exam was quite different then i imagined and nothing to fear about at all (if it wasn't clear to you all, i'm a sucker when it comes to hospitals, i truly don't know how my wife puts up with that "smell" in them every day!).
now i'm getting a CT scan later this week on which they can inspect my hearing bones and mainly the cochlea which is the shell shaped bones near your ear that is part of your hearing system. the results will only be handled again in 3 weeks though! since the doc has (another) vacation (and i don't like switching doctors all the time) so beginning of march hopefully they and I know more.
New START and the Outlook for American National Security

Soon the Senate will have an opportunity to ratify the New Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty, or New START, to continue mutual, verifiable nuclear weapons reductions in the U.S. and Russia. Although ratification has widespread bipartisan support among national security experts and military leaders, it is unclear what New START’s fate will be in today’s sharply polarized Senate. Please join us for remarks by former Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle on the importance of New START to nuclear stability, global nonproliferation, and America’s international leadership. After his remarks, John Podesta will moderate a conversation on the politics and policy of New START between Sen. Daschle and nonproliferation expert Joseph Cirincione, president of the Ploughshares Fund.

Make a photo illustrating a fresh start, a new beginning, or the first step to a goal.
Many new beginnings in my work - all important and exciting, but those things are going to happen because of the great people I work with and so many that care about kids and education.
So decided to focus on what often gets put aside or ignored in order to do for others - something for me. Not a total new start. Actually started back in the beginning of December, but with an old VHS tape. Found the set on DVD.
My goal is to Sweat to the Oldies 3x per week and use the BoFlex and bike 3x per week. One day off as needed or for some flexibility from a busy work schedule. This last year, it was strength training 3x per week for 20 minutes, which I stuck to give or take a few times here and there.
No halucinations of grandeur - just trying to feel better and maybe keep some aging from happening quicker than it needs too. Richard Simmons is corny, but the music is good, the moves doable and sustainable and get me moving. Not looking to be triathalon - so this works with my joints etc.
Maybe publicly posting will keep it going. So far, 4 weeks in, it feels good. :-)
May 6 2017 - Finally after days of rain a break from it all.. and my Maple tree has come to life as well.. SPring and warmer weather are starting to see the light of day.

In April of 2009, leaving behind a gray and rainy Yorkshire, Damon and I took a 2 week road trip around part of Canada, New England and New York. At the half-way point, we reached Portland, Maine. On the day this photo was taken, the sun was shining and the colours were bright. We wandered around drinking the best fruit smoothies we'd ever tasted. Everyone around us was smiling, helpful and friendly, and somehow everything felt JUST RIGHT.
It was at the point we first both had the idea - why not try and live over here? It seemed silly and unrealistic at first, but once the seed had been planted in our heads....it wasn't to shift.
This day in Portland will always feel like a turning point to us, where our lives were to take a new direction. The day of change is getting ever closer....
