Soon the Senate will have an opportunity to ratify the New Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty, or New START, to continue mutual, verifiable nuclear weapons reductions in the U.S. and Russia. Although ratification has widespread bipartisan support among national security experts and military leaders, it is unclear what New START’s fate will be in today’s sharply polarized Senate. Please join us for remarks by former Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle on the importance of New START to nuclear stability, global nonproliferation, and America’s international leadership. After his remarks, John Podesta will moderate a conversation on the politics and policy of New START between Sen. Daschle and nonproliferation expert Joseph Cirincione, president of the Ploughshares Fund.
I always keep dreaming of that part of my life where a new chapter will start.. where love will take over and take me on new adventures and even if me and whoever i am with are doing the most mundane things like going to the local supermarket to get food to be able to eat for the next week or so, it would be a bonnie and clyde situation and making so much fun and excitement in the world.
I had it once, It turned out i thought i had it but the same feeling wasn't reciprocated by the end of the relationship, and now nearing the end of another chapter of my life... I hope to be able to have it start up again as a sequel.

This image was never intended for flickr, it was just an image i took when I was out with my puppy over christmas in the Highlands. But it seems quite appropriate for me now with things that have happened in my own life this past week, now it is just me and my wee buddy, as things haven't turned out how i'd hoped. So this picture is just for me really, to make me smile. A new year a new start, I really hope 2009 brings everyone everything they wish for.......x

Trying to think of something new and fancy for my Art&Design prep work pages. I brought home a load of this tracing paper-like plastic, shiny on one side and matt on the other. So I thought that normal white sheets of paper stuck onto black card looks crap tbh so why not cut a hole in the page, keeping it nicely in proportion to the rest of the layout, print the type onto the plastic tracing paper and put said paper behind the whole, making a sort of translucent panel of type that is still legible :) Works quite well I think, needlessly tedious but adds a nice detail to the layouts.
The ink takes hours to dry, i smudged it a little by accident and decided to work it accross the whole title for a sort of grungy look, the particular page it was for was on one of the homeless guys I met in Belfast but it was really because im clumbsy lol
Got the computer back today, unfortunately they couldnt recover ANYTHING from the broken hard drive which means I lose all of my photographs from late 2009 amoungst other things. Yes that sucks, yes that includes my art coursework pictures from Belfast, no i hadn't made my regular CD backup in time before it crashed.
I would really appreciate someone donating a macbook to me atm. lol
One thing thats good though, they installed a new drive, 320GB over the old 200GB and its got a clean install which means it's zippy fast, However its VERY bare so its taken since 6:30pm-ish to get things installed/updated etc.
Another thing is I have a clean My Documents to work with, Pete McD kindly donated his Lightroom 2 which means I can (if me and LR can get along again) make a much more organised file (and backup) system. Meaning I can actually find my pictures if I need them lol.
I might be having an impromptu work experience with ThOnda tomorrow, he has a shoot in the morning and has invited me to tag along :) It also might mean I can re-take some pictures in Belfast to grapple-back what i can from the photography side of my art coursework. This book must be filled with photographs!
However if I don't have tomorrow's installement made you can assume that I have been kidnapped by him. No really.

After a really tough year in 2024, I made the decision to sell my house and move to a quiet new town where I have family nearby. This morning I woke to this amazing sunrise view from the front porch, what an excellent way to start the first day in my new house!

I am back, and it's like I never left... Soundscapes is still a brilliant pot of aural adventure juiciness, which is good to see. Gad. However, in my two-year absence, some neighbourhoods have become way hipper, and there are way more restaurants I'd love to try out.
It's one of the last things on my mind though; I need a job and apartment, stat. First job interview is this afternoon. Apartment hunt is not looking so good. Wish me luck.
