I thank everyone for your concern. I won't be around for awhile. Sorry I couldn't give warning. And sorry if I caused any worry. Thanks and I miss you so much. I'm still taking pictures and I'm playing with gimp for edit. But I have awhile before I can be back on Flickr. I Wish You the Best Holidays! I send my Love and you're in my thoughts! Xoxo

I was wondering what to do for this theme and as I walked down the road, there was my answer … the speed limit signs on either side of the road :))

Wishing all my flickr friends a healthy and happy 2018. A d also a warmer one-it's 25-35 degrees BELOW zero with the wind chill here in northern Illinois!
It's a very different scene where my lavender used to be now. I've dug up approx half of it..... well, digging up wasn't really needed as after enduring so much wet weather during the last 2 winters it's become quite rotten at the base and has been snapping off in my hands. I plan to replace it all during the Spring and summer with some new young plants so I can hopefully repeat scenes like this in years to come. :-)
I hope you are all well and the weather is being kind to you where ever you are.

It's snowing!!! The view I just awoke to out my bedroom window.
The world is fresh and white and pure and new!!!
Wonderful!!!
Zack was found by a dog warden wondering the streets. He actually spent his first Birthday in kennels for this reason. These images were taken on his first day of being rehomed.

About fifteen years ago I dug some iris from the crumbling foundation of an old ranch house...I wanted to try to keep alive the memory of the old ranch and the people who planted these so long ago......so , I .brought some of tthem home and planted them. They bloomed for a few years and then quit. Last year I dug them up and set them in a new bed.....and they are just stunning this spring. These iris are an old dusty rose color, and probably were around that foundation for 100 years...talk about being hardy....there is a lesson here......and I sure got the point....you just gotta be hardy and keep trying :)
Hi friends!
Hope this week is off to a great start for you. We went on our first trip as a family with Avi. Not too far, about 20 minutes away to a big open space in Sedalia. The day had gotten cloudy and overcast and I was excited to bring my camera and do some shooting. This is an awesome place to shoot on a cloudy day . It is so open and spacious, this olden like grass stretches back for miles. In the distance you see the soft blues peaks of the mountains. The skies are always beautiful here. There are no distractions, just the land against the sky. I love cloudy days anyway just because of the beautiful soft light it gives no matter what time of day it is. I find it special that on a day that most people think of as gloomy, there is so much beauty to be found. I got some really lovely shots of my children playing in this big field against the stormy skies. My 35mm was my first choice and it never disappoints! After being on bedrest for the last part of my pregnancy and then taking these last weeks off to be with Avi, I've been going stir crazy!!;) It felt SO good to be outdoors again. Breathing in the cool fresh air and walking in this SILENT place did my heart and soul so much good. As an introvert I really thrive on being outdoors in the quiet. It's not just about noise but it's about distractions. I leave my phone in the car and for a few hours it's just me and my children in this big place. Anyway thank you for reading my rambling thoughts and thank you so much for all the heartfelt messages and comments congratulating me on the arrival of our newest little one. It means so much to me and brings so much joy to read and reread so many kind words.
To see the rest of the pictures from this beautiful gloomy day you can check out more from my blog if you'd like <3
Have a wonderful week my dear friends!
xxoo

At times, it no longer seems enough to only look for a shift in the everyday routine. Nonetheless, if you want the shift to become the change, you’ll surely walk on difficult paths. However, once the decision is made, there is usually no way back.
If you dare to restart, many obstacles will cross your way, of which you are usually the biggest. Yet there is no way around dealing with them when wanting to advance. Hence, struggling through this toward the goal might cause something extraordinary to happen – a fresh start where the admired shift finally becomes your change.
First set of photos from the New Year and things are off to a great start with a lovely sunset over the western Twin City. To my luck, the city's lights came on just prior to the sun going down fully. Enjoy!

We are all somehow busy planning something. While having a good plan is elementary for some, a rough idea of what is about to happen is sufficient for others. Planning provides guidance since, instead of trusting to chance, it promises a guarantee of something to happen in the unpredictable system called life.
But as good as it may be to know the general conditions, so fatal is it to only rely on it: Because, in the end, things always turn out differently than planned. Though the planning may appear attractive, freeing yourself from assuming everything will happen the intended way is the only possibility to not getting off track.
And though I had planned differently, luck meant well to me this day! Since I decided in favor of trusting to chance when I took the wrong turn, I discovered this beautiful place.
