Crawdad Network - Aesop's Fables
A CRA Network generated by Crawdad Text Analysis System 2.0. Notice the strong pairs... "great day"... how "Aesop" serves as a "hub" between "fable", "life", and "death"... and the prominent role of "time" in the concept network.

The right-hand power strip powers the Apple display, printer, etc., and can be shut off to save power. The other strip has the network things I need to stay up.
The empty spot held the Apple display power brick, which unfortunately has to be no more than two feet or so from my laptop due to poor design. A DVI extension cable will fix that.

At my home office, where my work relies on a network connection, I now have a backup and a backup backup network.
On the left is my cable modem- NPG cable today was doing some un-announced service and it blinked out. I then tried to use the iPhone to message the office (switching it off the wireless form the cable modem to EDGE network) but whatever outage there was must have been regional, because it was unable to connect to the cellular network.
Lastly, my Alltel EVDO modem worked like a charm... by the time I had tried Networks number 2 and 3, number 1 came back on.
A class 365 Networker Express unit approaches Rainham on a Ramsgate - Victoria working. The grimy exterior condition has always been the norm on the Kent main lines, and shows how some characteristics of a particular area can survive operators. In BR days, South Eastern Division main line units were always grubby compared to the similar units on the Central & South Western divisions. The same situation still applies today; although the current incumbent 'Southeastern.' are quite a bit better than their predecessors Connex, they rarely achieve the standard of cleanliness maintained by 'Southern' or SWT, particularly with the 375/6 and 375/7 stock. For some reason the 375/9 units always seem to be cleaner.
Scott Wilson published this graphic version of a future "Virtual Learning Environment-"- one where the content is stored in external repositories or web services, and content is connected via web standard RSS/FOAF.
This is showing technologies which are currently available. Note how this is somewhat simlar to the way in which information can now be "Glu-ed" together.

Holly here from Blythe Network News. The beautiful Leonor is in Rio Grande Brazil right now and has been having a wonderful time with mari. Despite some rain they have been spending time out and have gone to the movies. Geo is with Sai/Rebecca in Germany. She was caught up in customs for a bit and a whopping 75 euros needed to be paid. This little one has covered a lot of ground. For those who have not heard, sweet Amelia is missing. My heart is just not into reporting tonight. From all over the world messages of encouragement have arrived. The Traveling Blythe Program has touched many people and brought them together. It is sad to think of one of our sisters being lost, it is a fear we all share. Let us hope for the best and send some good thoughts to Gbaby all those who care for sweet Amelia.
8/15/11 News update: Hundreds of people who are not hosts of the traveling blythes are posting photos on flickr and fb. Offers to make reward posters, to give reward money, to make calls and more are coming in from all over the world. Jen the brass cupcake is diligently making calls and has set aside her day to try and get in touch with the building mail room and post office in california. The post office will not discuss with anyone other than the sender or receiver. I know it is very sad because of course we all relate it to our own girls which is very scary. Obviously amelia is one of our girls by the love everyone has been showing. Gbary has been a rock during this and we all send love to her.

Just finished optimizing power distribution wiring. Installed a Tripp-Lite 15A metered PDU and 9ea of 10' long power cords, which are now in a bundle down the middle of the right side panel. Surprised it only draws 2A, but the server and old NAS are not powered up. Next upgrade will be end of November with completion of 10G upgrade for part of the network. You can see the thicker CAT6A cables next to the older CAT6 cables. I got one spool and replaced wiring for most of the 2nd floor connections which includes my study and media room. Already have a 10G switch and upgraded the 24 port 1G switch to one with a 10G uplink so the switches are connected via SFP+ at 10G. Will get first 10G NIC my next trip to the USA. NAS with 10G is still too expensive. Maybe next year...

Everyone has been posting the most amazing photos! I wanted to thank blytheraphy for sending me the lovely gift of a journal to keep track of the routes of the Travelers. I really appreciate it. The network has received a bit of press lately in an interview with Aurora’s Customizer by Gingerurchin and mademoiselleblythe’s interview of Linda. Sandra (minkidynamite) the station President has been in touch. So with the thought that all is well everyone here at BNN wishing you a good night!
(5/31/12 Me: Holly can I add a personal note?
Holly: If you must.
Me: If you are reading this you really should go see Just Biz's photos of Compass in a HOT AIR BALLOON. They are amazing shots and they deserve to be looked at and commented on!
Holly: If Sandra complains about exceeding our air time limit I will send her to you.)
