At Strawberry Hill depot in Shacklegate Lane, the (battered & beaten) sign is still a NSE one. The very small sign on the gate informs you that it is a Siemens depot.

Holly: Good evening from Blythe Network News. The network and I are so sorry we have not been giving updates but we have been very busy in the past two weeks dealing with customs and arranging the Travelers for the Christmas Holiday. Of course after I typed a long news report two nights ago I lost it and was too tired to continue. A reporters life takes its toll. She has been in no danger but Compass has spent a bit of time in customs. We knew exactly where she was at all moments and did not fear for her. I slight error required that she be held before being sent back. She is now safely with Ann (mustangsally) in Belgium and will stay with her until the new year. She will be pampered and have a wonderful time. Christmas in Belgium must be wonderful.
Aurora is now with Sarah (Isabellathecat) in the UK and will be staying will her until the New Year. An interview with her will follow our report.
Makani is with Danuta (maude80) in Germany. She will also be staying with her through the holidays. I always wanted to be Germany at Christmas. After she leaves Danuta Makani will be go to Sandra (Minkidynamite who conceived the Traveling Blythe program. So we are all very happy that all the Travelers are safely with families for the Holidays and can take a breath before traveling again. Thank you to all the hosts who are waiting for their patience in letting the Travelers take this break and not be in the mail for Christmas. All the Travelers are hoping you will visit their photos. They have been thinking lately that not many people are interested in them. It must be lonely for them to be with a host and have no comments and well wishes. And now here is our interview with Isabellathecat!
Sarah: My girl Ivy (I know you have a sister named Ivy) was reluctant to answer any questions. But once I assured her the questions would not hard and that no she would not be marked on them she agreed. All the girls gathered around the computer excitedly waiting to be interviewed by BNN’s beautiful Anchor woman Holly!
Holly: (blushes) How have your girls and Aurora been getting along?
Sarah: Everyone has loved having Aurora to stay, She has become firm friends with Betty and Devon. Ivy is still a little star struck having a world famous traveling model stopping with us! Sam and Lilou think she is simply fabulous, Grace, Flo and Evie adore her and her owl friends and all the fun they have had while she has been stopping with us.
Holly: Can you tell us a bit about where you live?
Sarah: We live in a town in Northumberland now called Blyth!
Holly: (gasps)
Sarah: Northumberland is a county just on the Scottish borders and it's North sea coast line has the designation "Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty"
Flo: So it's a very pretty place to stay! There are lots of castles in Northumberland, the closest to us being Alnwick castle.
Ivy: (Sarah’s girl): Does it have princesses in it still?
Sarah: No honey not any more however they have the biggest treehouse there. Remember we went with Aurora?- it's so big it's been turned into a restaurant. Rumour has it they have some of the best cheese boards in England on the menu there.
Holly: Did your town do anything special for Aurora?
Devon: After the official welcome Parade it was announced that the town and river will forever be known as Blyth (Without an "e" to avoid too much confusion) in honour of Aurora's visit.
Holly: Do you like cheese?
Everyone: We love cheese!
Sarah: We are fans of the "Northumberland cheese company" who make artisan cheeses local to us, Very Yummy! Nettle and Cheviot are two of our faves and stinky french cheeses are also a winner here baked camembert with cranberries or brie with grapes....The thought of them is making us all hungry! We are off now to have a ploughman's lunch, Holly your welcome to join us!
Holly: I would love to! Thank you so much for allow us to interview you.
Holly: I want to once again thank everyone for tuning in and wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from all at us at Blythe Network News. These broadcasts are made possible by the generous comments made by viewers like you. This is Holly saying good night from BNN.
I can't find the seat pattern NCT used for its Tridents and Excels, so for now this later version will have to do. Anyway, the old pattern always seemed to be used on bench seats, while this has individual seats so the interior is probably more like an Omnidekka anyway.
One thing they did have on the interior was a red section by the door (the no-standing area) with a big NCT logo on the wheelchair ramp. As you can see I have managed to recreate this, as well as lime interior grab poles which is what NCT seems to have had on most of their low floor buses up until they started getting painted teal. They had some red and grey ones too, but I always remembered the lime ones.
While the ALX400 is a nice bus in itself, having the correct ELC bus would probably suit the livery better and just look better all-round with bonded glazing and more straight lines in the design.

When I worked at the Hut years ago one of the kid meal offers was these toys that could squirt water, which used Cartoon Network dogs (they may have all been Hanna-Barbera characters). There were six of them. The thing was, headquarters would send a box with one set of toys every week for those six weeks, and if a store didn't use up what they had in stock then they didn't get the next character. The Hut I worked at only got four; I found a fifth at the Packwood WA annual citywide rummage sale but I can't seem to locate that one right now. Pictured are Droopy Dog, Scoobie-Doo, Astro, and Muttley, and I haven't found any web references to say what the other two were (I'm presuming Blue Falcon's partner Dog Wonder was one... and I think that Dino from The Flintstones, who was described as a "dogasaurus" on the show so this should appease the purists, is the one I've misplaced).
Also seen as a placeholder for the missing character is my nametag from those days. It's more acceptable than the other one, "Scrubbo Z. Tang / Dish Wench".
