Installed a shelf on a window above the fireplace for the kitties. They love looking out the window onto the deck. Zoom lens goodness on the Nikon F3P. So cool that I could use the AF-D lens on the F3P without any issues.

First time shooting with JCH Streetpan 400; had problems with the negatives coming out way too light (dark after scanning). I think I messed up on my dilution of HC-110. I'll try another roll to see to confirm with Rodinal.

Nappers Bridge and the Lake Bonney Hotel.

William Napper a farm labourer from Guernsey arrived in SA on the Oriental in 1855 when he was 28 years old. With his friend William Parnell they tried working as timber cutters for the passing riverboat trade along the Murray. Their wives and families joined them. In 1859 William Parnell built the Lake Bonney Hotel to capitalise on the travellers passing overland with their livestock. In 1863 Napper purchased 80 acres of land and the hotel buildings from. William’s first wife Ann died in 1869 and his second wife died in 1877 just after they had moved to become the licensees of the Overland Corner Hotel. It is not clear but the Lake Bonney Hotel probably closed when Napper left it. The hotel had eleven rooms, some with magnificently built chimneys and a store hut nearer Lake Bonney. Napper’s private residence which still stands was located in front of the old store and cellars. William Napper returned to the deserted Lake Bonney Hotel in the 1880s to operate it as an accommodation place. He died here in 1907 and was buried nearby in the Overland Corner Hotel cemetery just north of the old hotel.

Lazy dog

A poem by Katie Gabrielle

take a nap

lazy dog

snooze your life away

don't forget your name

when I call you home

or you'll miss out on a bone

or two

ever wonder where you came

from

Or don't you even care

take a nap

forget your cares

do a trick

for food

Or not

take a nap

tell the world

who gives a s****

just leave me be

I'm just cute

and you ain't

WanChai, HongKong

sometimes Xena stares at me while I'm trying to take a nap and it just wakes me up

a painted turtle wakes up from his nap on the forest floor

When only a nap will do

Red-naped sapscuker on MacQueen Lake Road, north of Kamloops, BC. What I like about the photo (aside from its such a cool bird to see close up!), is that it captures the "treatment" (liitle holes) the sapsucker is applying to the tree -possibly to creatte a good environment to attrack insects that it will later come back and eat,

Bears nap and relax during the day and spend the night-time looking for food. When autumn hits, bears see it as a signal that they need to stock up on food before the winter begins. Gone are those summer naps and, instead, bears spend up to 20 hours a day in the autumn eating. That leaves just a handful of hours to sleep.

*** Thank you all ***

i was quite surprised that on our many encounters with lions, leopards and cheetahs that none of them paid any attention to us. At times we were within 6-8 feet from them and they never even looked our way. The real secret is that they accepted our vehicle as a single benign unit and not as prey.

Elton John, and his brother, One Eyed Jack, wore themselves out.

Nap time!

Well who wouldn't want to take a nap between noon and 1pm.
