I tend to do these cards in batches. I sent the first four to my partners, but this is one I kept for myself. I now have a set of twelve different colors displayed in a shadowbox in my living room.

The white Bristol was colored with watercolor pencils. All black penwork was done with a Copic multiliner. This was a fun project but if I do another one I will change the pattern a bit. I definitely want to rework this long hairstyle (multilayered and wider to close the space by her neck). May 2011

I'm doing commissions of these so please comment or mail me for further info.

This is an example of an 8$ detailed ink commission as the clothing and items are highly detailed.

This is Scarlett, the OC of a comic artist by the name of Kate Hayward. I was told she's from the 80s era and is a bit outdoorsy. My take on this is a bit Jem-inspired XD. Maybe she went to a rave out in some abandoned country manor and this is the morning after.

191118: I am often asked what kind of materials and paper I use. When people learn that I paint in a Moleskine Pocket Diary, the next question is whether the watercolors or ink won't bleed on the back page. That's why I made a drawing in which I show, among other things, how different inks and colors affect the reverse side. The matchbox is not one of my working materials. It is for size comparison purposes only. Everything on the picture was drawn in original size.

200117: We met in Hamburg for my mother's birthday and spent the weekend together. We stayed in the Prizeotel in Högerdamm. I stamped the two square Hamburg stamps with the coordinates and the Elbphilharmonie in the Moleskine shop in Hamburg Central Station. Saturday we visited the Sagmeister & Walsh exhibition in the Museum of Art and Trade. It was great, and there were delicious sweets. 😃

I used red, brown and olive with a little wine colour in the darks. The tiny bits of yellow are with a Tombow pen.

I don't know what these are called. They are a little more yellow than this, but I drew with an oliove Copic Multiliner then added a little yellow and lime with Tombows.

This is the first page of my new art journal in progress. I've been working on this on and off throughout the week. I used liquid watercolor in a spray bottle and flower cutouts as masks to create the background. The lettering and outlines are in black acrylic paint. the designs on the butterfly and flowers are in Prismacolor multiliner.

Inspired by Skydolls, because that artist and comic super rule. Was fun to colour such soft colours.

I chose this bottle of fish sauce for the graphic qualities of the red label against the nearly black sauce. And not too much complications on the label either!

Ayam Brand is an Indonesian brand. Ayam means chicken. I was surprised how much of their stuff I have. I stamped it with my chop that I had carved in 1982 at a Hangzhou Calligraphers' Guild. Unfortunately though I have two lots of ink, they have dried up and I need more.

A signal lantern an a hand held Aldis Lamp. National Maritime Museum.

I arrived early at Circular Quay for the Sketchcrawl as I was a bit concerned that the Jessica Watson Arrival crowd would interfere with public transport. It didn't - not at 8 am anyway. I'd been wanting to draw a harbour ferry for a long time, so I sat on a bench in glorious sunshine and finally drew one.

There’s a crane outside my kitchen window in Prague. It seems to be set up to fix the dome of a church. I’m also drawing the entire scene in pencil but the crane was cool enough to pull out on its own.

This will go in to Andrew Galan’s Zine Frank Herbert’s Boys Brigade. The zine will be constructed/published in early February. It will follow Andrew to festivals and readings and be available at the Sticky Institute in Melbourne and Smith’s Alternative Bookshop in Canberra

Another one..blown to bits! Reached in my bag and got a fist full of ink.
