Perhaps the most hated creature on earth, the mosquito, has appeared in my backyard in mass for the first time. While the recent rains have been good for the garden for obvious reasons, it has not been good for equally obvious reasons.

Only found in one small area in Maryland, the Draculinas Mosquito weighs over 4 pounds and has a body length (adult) of 18 to 24 inches. Known to drain the blood of Cockapoos in under a minute, this Mosquito was thought to be extinct. My first and hopefully last sighting was yesterday.
