On a moments notice, the earth can become moody place in the Icelandic highlands, where the weather changes constantly and volcanic thermo-geological emissions can spew out, anywhere along the scenic trail.
A typical day on Mull in summer ☺️ The red roof on this small house really breaks the colour palette here - a real landmark for me on the island that always makes me reach for the camera.
Happy Friday!! Aren’t these wonderfully moody conditions as dappled light illuminated the undulating dunes?
Taken at home in the front garden…
Magpies are birds of the Corvidae family. Like other members of their family, they are widely considered to be intelligent creatures. The Eurasian magpie, for instance, is thought to rank among the world's most intelligent creatures,[1][2] and is one of the few non-mammal species able to recognize itself in a mirror test.[3] They are particularly well known for their songs and were once popular as cagebirds. In addition to other members of the genus Pica, corvids considered as magpies are in the genera Cissa, Urocissa, and Cyanopica.
After a pretty dull and windy morning at Isthmus Bay i thought i was coming home with hardly any pics, then all of a sudden it all kicked off in the distance!
I rarely ever take pictures of myself but I was testing out a new strobe I recently purchased. one light setup from the side camera left, camera on tripod with trigger remote.
I intentionally wanted to create a moody image, hope you like it Flickr family.
A Moody sky couldn't keep out the sun as it lit up this field beautifully. The tractor tracks lead you through the textured windswept barley.
This is one of two fields of barley and poppies near Dartmouth.

Moody sky at the Singing ringing tree.
Burnley's Panopticon, 'Singing Ringing Tree', is a unique musical sculpture which overlooks Burnley from its position high above the town on Crown Point.
Constructed from pipes of galvanised steel stacked in layers, this Panopticon takes the form of a tree bending to the winds and harnesses the energy of those winds to produce a low, tuneful song.

In August I was finally able to fulfill a big wish of mine and visit the Faroe Islands.
It was an intense week that I will never forget.
Can you spot my tiny friend standing next to the waterfall? 😅
The southbound Denali Star curves through the former location of Moody Tunnel. Due to constant maintenance and unstable rock the tunnel was daylighted to provide for better track conditions.
Taken early January of 2017. Took this image on my last trip to the Grand Canyon just after new years 2017. This was all before I knew about focus stacking or exposure blending, just a good old-fashioned composition! It was incredibly cold and windy at the top of the Canyon where I shot this, yet relatively warm at the bottom which is a testament to just how vast this environmental marvel is!
A moody evening wedge. I was in the water surfing when the evening light turned absolutely beautiful with a dark backdrop of thick storm clouds. I got out the water, ran home still in my wetsuit and grabbed my camera. I sat waist deep in the water with a towel wrapped around my camera and lens to avoid any water droplets from hitting my setup. Longbeach, Cape Town, South Africa.
