1. Brake pipes added to the top of bogie frames.
2. Cabside steps top step modified to match prototype.
3. Hand brake chain shortened. Hook added on bogie frame to allow easy disconnection and reattachment.
4 and 5. Flexible sanding pipes added using 1 mm elastic. These are attached to the underframe and slot into sleeves added to the bogies for easy disconnection. These are in line with the rails/wheels, unlike the Heljan versions fitted in line with the inner ends of the bogie frames, and none at the front of the loco.
The faces of the wheels were primed and painted black to remove the shiny metalic finish.

This setup securely sits inside the globe to allow moving and clutching without having to dismantle the globe each time.
Rope was not tightened for this pic, but this works well on a tight rope out in the yard or such. You can always add a piece of twine to the bottom of this device and pull it along the rope, out of view of the camera lense.
