Further pictures of turntable ferry, MV Western Spinner as she passes by other vital inter-island transport providers, Loganair & Hebridean Air Services. Our manually operated turntable vessel carries Police Scotland & Scottish Ambulance Patient Transport Service, in addition to the Royal Mail Postbus. Providing a link to the Scottish mainland.
I started with the wheel house. The painted window panes had to be lined up just so inside the openings.
The front windows are even more fussy because they had to be affixed inside a curved surface -- and those little plastic strips resist bending.
Time to mask attachment points on the wheel house deck and paint the same color as the lower cabin deck.
The wheel house has been painted, and is now being glued to the lower cabin deck.
The side walls of the cabin bowed in slightly, so I used a toothpick to keep it lined up along the cleat on the deck.
Just passing the Model boating lake at Fleetwood,it used to be the biggest in europe, and saw The African Queen sailing by.

Inverleith Park Boating Pond
Inverleith Pond was constructed as a model boating pond in the 1890's. It has a puddle clay base and a surrounding tarmac walkway with several concrete jetties where Club members tend to congregate. The pond covers an area of 7,500 square metres - roughly 150 metres long by 50 metres wide. The sloping bank in the foreground was once a bird sanctuary and it is believed that the birds that sought refuge here may have brought over the seeds that today cause a seasonal Canadian Pondweed problem.
The pond is approximately 2 feet deep at its edges increasing to about 3 feet in the middle - 'wader depth'.
Model Boating has always featured strongly and records exist of clubs operating here from the early 1900's, with powered model boats reported to have been operating as far back as the 1920's.
Info: Edinburgh Model Boat Club
The wheel house deck sits atop the wheel house.
You can see attachment points for the Light Mast, Starboard and Port Lights, and the mast Rigging.

My wife's family came to visit us from out of state. On Saturday we all visited the North Carolina Maritime Museum at Southport. They had a large display of model boats and ships. The primitive boat was the first one I noticed in the display.
Operation Pluto (Pipe-Lines Under The Ocean) was a Second World War operation by British engineers, oil companies and armed forces to construct undersea oil pipelines under the English Channel between England and France in support of Operation Overlord, the Allied invasion of Normandy in June 1944.
When I go yachting at the boat pond, South Lake Union, it soon becomes clear that my boat is community property. How can I say, "don't touch" when the kiddies have taken charge to cast-off my fine vessel with such enthusiasm. Its best to just remain sitting at the bench as though this boat has no owner.
The RNLI Dún Laoghaire Lifeboat Station had their Open Day for the public on Sunday 22 July 2012. The RNLI Sea Safety Roadshow was on hand along with members of the Irish Model Boat Club who displayed their lovely hand made model boats. The Irish Coast Guard and the Customs Dog Unit were also along to help support the day. There was also face painting and RNLI goodies for everyone. The public had the opportunity to talk to the Lifeboat crew and to get onboard the RNLB Anna Livia which was berthed alongside the Station for the event. A very detailed Billings Boats kit which looks great on the water.( I had one myself many years ago which gave me much pleasure both during the build and for many sailing outings.) www.flickr.com/photos/crack-one/6672685857/
