Perhaps this is the Thunderbirds! Do you remember them - oldies like me. I used to love them, my wife cringes at the thought.

One of the model boats we caught at the lake at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre in Boondall, Brisbane the other week. These little things really buzz around. Boy's toys.

Watermead Model Boat Club, Aylesbury, Bucks.

A model of a HM Customs launch from the 1930s , purpose catching smugglers red handed!

The "Tub," as it's affectionately know, dies in winter - streets are deserted, most of the shops are closed, and seasonal residents depart. The sole gas station is only open on a part time basis. It comes alive, however, when the weather warms and the Chi-Cheemaun resumes it's summer run to Manitoulin Island. It's a place of summer homes, cottages, and boats - lot's of boats - even model boats. It's one of my favorite places to go.

Believed to be around 1995 this is one of the Model Boat Gatherings at Ellesmere Port Boat Museum A less interesting slide shows the Holiday Inn being completed which dates this around 1995, when the hotel was completed.

My latest creation for the Maritime Museum pond. A two pint milk bottle fully radio controlled. Goes like a dream.

Whilst in Eaton Park Norwich the other night, I met a man and his wife. The man had made this model boat perfect in every detail including interior lights. It took him five years and was such an achievement I really wanted to post them here. They came from Wymondham and i failed to get their details - but if anyone knows them I have several photos of this model if they would like them.

These two photos are from our day trip before we went to Stratford for the week! You may remember, JJ and I went to Ryde, Isle of Wight for the day. After stomping around on the sandy beach, we continued back for the catamaran passing the Canoe Lake. The clouds were coming over and we didn't expect to see anyone there, but there were a couple of guys floating their boats there!

Take a cruise across the seas of the internet.

From fairies at the bottom of your garden to 'the borrowers' we are obsessed with the fantasy of little people in a full-sized world. My 'downsizing' project, using model railway figures, food and everyday objects, is merely an extension of those thoughts.

Meet David. David was sailing his model boats on the boating pond at Duthie Park in Aberdeen. We had a chat about the models - this hull was built in Aberdeen and then completed by David. His other boat was a fast speedboat.

Thanks for the photo, David.

Rønne, Capital, Denmark

St. Nicolas' Church with its distinctive tower is the parish church of Rønne on the island of Bornholm in the Diocese of Copenhagen. Enlarged and fully refurbished in 1918, it stands near the harbour on the site of an earlier church or chapel from the 13th century.

In many churches in Scandinavia, you’ll see a ship hanging from the ceiling, a symbol of how important the sea is to the Nordic people. The ship reflects an old Nordic tradition of giving offerings for the protection of loved ones at sea and is a reminder of those lost at sea. The ship models are often called votive ships.

The real Loyal Moderator is a Supply Tender built in 1973 and currently sailing under the flag of the United Kingdom.

These are big working models … this one about 4 ft. long!

I do hope to see them again, and in the water!

It's spring at Lake Krupunder - men are behaving like little boys playing with their model sailboats. This one is a lovely example, its yellow sails make for a colourful spot on the water, almost like a brimstone butterfly.

When I first saw these model boats in these windows of the Brittania Shipyard Museum in Steveston, I wanted to create a triptych of them. The time of day was perfect with the building behind me darkened with the sun behind me. I wanted to frame each boat within the other building's roof line.

Unfortunately I somehow deleted one of the 3 shots, and so went back one morning, but the light was shining on the other, back building. I returned again in the afternoon. The light was better, but the sky wasn't quite the same depth of blue.

Oh well. In the process, I came across lots of other great scenes I wouldn't have seen (or photographed) otherwise.

Here's to the history of boats and boat building. Hurray for the Brittania Shipyard Museum. A great place to visit!

It was on Ascension Day that I walked during a break at work across the yard of Museumsquartier. When I saw these model boats on the basin I had to stop and watch for a while. I thought that Schiele, who had an intense passion for toys and kept his toys from childhood, would like it, that people are driving remote controlled toy boats in front of the museum with the largest collection of his paintings.

A moment of tranquillity for a youngster in le Jardin du Luxembourg, a haven amid the hubbub of Paris.

Le Jardin (in English, the Luxembourg Gardens) was created in 1612. It covers 25 splendid hectares and is split into French and English gardens – not to mention an orchard, an apiary, greenhouses and a large pond. Activities for adults include open air chess, tennis and bridge, and for children there are puppets, rides and slides – and, in this case, remote controlled boats.

Dorothy crept out onto the deck of the Creole Queen while her husband still slept. She had made good progress on writing her novel since they had taken off from the Port of New Orleans, but was having problems figuring out the ending.

"Should Sir Harold save Princess Minerva from the evil clutches of the Queen, or should the Princess double cross Sir Harold and let the Far Kingdom fall?" she thought to herself. The decision made her anxious.

"Maybe I'll just go get some breakfast first," she mumbled.

Been working on this for the past week or so. I’ve been wanting to make a boat for a while now. I tried a couple times in the past using a similar design for the hull, but I never finished any of em. Woke up a few days ago with some inspiration to finish one of these bad boys, so I did. Had a lot of fun takin da pics in da bath tub. I got a lot of pics I liked and I couldn’t decide so I just posted all of them. sorry
