Shortly after completing the model of Vic 32 Gooders shows it off to Nick Walker, Skipper of the full size vessel in the saloon of the real one.
A remote control model motor torpedo boat being put through its paces on Keeper's Pond by a couple of older enthusiasts. My uncle finished the war on these, operating off the Dutch coast in duels with German E-Boats.
Very slow, but pleasing result so far, as I plank the hull. The bow and counterstern pieces are missing so I have to complete the planking of the main body section of the hull, to have the correct size and shape when I scratchbuild the important missing pieces.
Can only work at it in short sessions as I feel up to it, so it will probably take quite a while. Fortunately, I am not in a hurry.
Hobart Maritime Museum- a model of a famous Tasmanian trading vessel, the prototype of which resides in Constitution Dock.
Faithful, a scale model of a Clyde puffer. She was scratch built by Carlisle Model Boat Club secretary Colin Hird. The prototype, built by the Larne Shipping Company of Northern Ireland, was a general carrier on the Forth-Clyde Canal. Faithful is pictured on Talkin Tarn, venue near Brampton for the club's Wednesday afternoon sailing meetings.
It's a bit misleading, this is one of the model boats you can sail around Disneylands many very small ponds . Its about 12 inches long.

We went to the Museum of Montserrat while we were at Montserrat. The entrance is from the Square of Saint Mary, and you go down some stairs. The museum is underground.
Was many works of art here to see.
It occupies the area beneath the three squares that stand before the monastery. Was built by the architect Josep Puig i Cadafalch between 1929 and 1933.
The Museum of Montserrat showcases a selection of the most outstanding artistic and archaeological heritage at the thousand-year-old Abbey of Montserrat. The museum contains six very different collections. More than 1300 pieces are exhibited in the museum, embracing a vast chronological period.
The original basis of the Museum of Montserrat was the so-called ‘Biblical Museum’, a huge, admirable work by the monk Dom Bonaventura Ubach (Barcelona, 1879-Montserrat, 1960), who spent long periods of his life in Jerusalem and Beirut from 1906.
The oldest exhibit is an Egyptian sarcophagus from the 13th century BC, whilst the most recent is a painting by Sean Scully dating to 2010. The sarcophagus forms part of the Archaeology of the Biblical East Collection, along with other objects from the cultures of Mesopotamia, Egypt, Greece, the Holy Land and Cyprus.
There is also an exhibition devoted to the Iconography of Our Lady of Montserrat, which traces the changing way in which the Virgin has been represented in art over the centuries.
Since 2006 the Museum of Montserrat has a new section: a collection of about 160 Byzantine and Slavic icons that is titled Phos Hilaron (joyful light). These icons presented on the environment of an oriental church where the light has an important role.
The other collections are: Goldsmithery, comprising liturgical objects from the 15th to the 20th century; Painting from the 13th to the 18th century, which includes works by Berruguete, El Greco, Caravaggio, Luca Giordano, Tiepolo, etc.; and 19th and 20th century Painting, which boasts one of the finest collections of Catalan painting, including such outstanding names as Fortuny, Rusiñol, Casas, Nonell, Mir, Gimeno, Anglada Camarasa, Picasso, DalÃ, etc. French Impressionist art is also represented in this section, with works by Monet, Sisley, Degas, Pissarro, etc., as well as graphic works by many of the greatest contemporary artists: Chagall, Braque, Le Corbusier, Rouault, Miró, DalÃ, Picasso, Clavé, Tà pies, etc.
The Museum of Montserrat is a living entity. It experiences a constant transformation and continuous and renewed exhibitions of its collection. Only a small part of it is exhibited permanently. This is why temporary exhibitions follow each other non-stop in the Pere Daura Room and the Pere Pruna Art Space. These temporary exhibitions make up the best complement to the Museum’s visitors and stand for the real efforts of this institution. On 2015 a Sean Scully art space was opened at Santa Cecilia in Montserrat.

The wheel house sits atop the lower cabin. Of all the wheel house parts I had, this assembled one was in the best shape.

The Richmond Maritime Festival celebrates all things waterfront at the Britannia Shipyards National Historic Site. From wooden boats to model boats, water safety to sea creatures, local lore to fishing history, the festival invites visitors to explore a spectacular heritage site and enjoy music, games, interactive exhibits, roving performers, food and much more.
The bollard and winch pieces were also already glued down to the deck -- again, making repainting the hull and deck a challenge.

The new outdoor pond at the Scottish Maritime Museum is now structurally complete and has been partly filled thanks to the local Fire Service. I could not resist the temptation to christen the new pond and thought it fitting that my model of the museum's very own steam yacht Carola should be the first vessel on the water. Myself and the other local club members are eagerly awaiting the complete filling and Grand Opening.

A popular park dating from 1886 with some of the mature evergreen oaks planted in 1910. There is an impressive range of floral bedding on display.
The main attraction to the area is the man made boating lake which has peddle boats available for hire
