A quite unwelcoming sign I thought. Anyway I've took a look at the website and day membership is available afterall. At the Waterways at Great Yarmouth.
This is 1 of many pics that I took while visiting the Museum of Applied Arts & Sciences building ( M.A.A.S. ) that's located in Castle Hill N.S.W. & is a part of the "Powerhouse" museum at Ultimo in Sydney , This pic is of a model of the facility which we're inside of & the Main Hall is the one with the clear roof on it.
An evolving model. Lots of carving and shaping to get bow and stern just right. Eventually the whole thing will be planked so some serious bending will have to be done.
The HCCG Jacob Leslie was my first from-scratch boat. It looks good and is exceptionally water-tight, but I didn't use hull-design software for the hull. Just eyeballed it. Big mistake: it's overpowered with twin screws and it chine-walks at anything over hull speed. And the V-bottom hull is much more wobbly than a flat bottom. The 36" single-screw cargo ship is much lighter and faster. What a difference proper design makes.
