YOUTH FOR EQUALI'IY .
Friends! .
YFE stands for Peace, Equality, Development and National [ntegrity. YFE is committed to fight against every viok!lce activity; discriminatory policy of politicians to enhance Inequality; and political stunts trying to break communal harmony of the society. YFE slams the act of violence and intimidation in Lohit hostel by an ABVP activist and appeals to the student community to maintain the ham1onious atmosphere in our campus. YFE is continuously raising voice against increasing violence in our campus. Whether it is the detention or Registrar or fatal attack on Sumi~ an YFE activist with a stony weapon, by an AiSA activist or the recent violence thrashing fellow resident by an ABVP activist, all are extremely black blots on the JNU prestige. In .'ltead of taking genuine students issues, all political parties are competing to divert the common students to fake and illogical issues indicating their frustration and bankruptcy. The fatal physical act on 5th October by an A BVP activist thrashing a fellow resident is pretty shameful and highly condemnable event. We demand to take strict action against him. In stead of being more active and strict against such issues. the adm inistration is very casual over repeated incidents of violence that had increased confidence among the mongers of violence and a deep sense of fear and insecurity among the campus residents. We seek justict! as earliest as possible. .
YFE warns ABVP to avoid such violent, aggressive and communalistic atlitude which can never be suitable to maintain National integrity further it wi II be the bigges1 hurdle in national development. YFE also warn Leftists to stop playing sentimental politics colouring the event as communal riots. It should be treated as crime against humanity. YFE slams A1SA for participating in protest demonstration against the violence. AISA is already sinking in the mud due to the weight of criminal act by Rajan Pande) during admission assistance. Shameless AISA has no moral ground to stand in protest demos unless they take strict action against Rajan Pandey and stop supporting him. The AlSA lumpen was engaged in realizing the primitiv~ communism by transporting our campus to Stone-Age. This is the height of shame that Gen Sec. of ,JNUSU, Mr. Sandeep Singh in council meeting tried to miss guide the council that Jumpen Rajan Pandey assault case on umit has been rejected. The \\hvJ... propaganda ga ng of AI 'A is misguiding and misinforming whole student community regarding lumpen Rajan Pande' asslUlt case. \\'e want to make it clear that proctorial enquiry has been set up and its decision is about to release. .
Dear intellectual comrades, extremists and naxals, we urge vou to starl thinking positively. Think about student; issues first. Students need enha need and equal scholarship, \Vi-Fi facility, full-flcdgt d Bank, Single wiodO\\ svstem, computerized intra-networking of all ad min offices and many more. Instead of wasting youth energy in fake issues, plea:! raise your voice for modernization of our JNU to improve gualitv of academic performance and to enhance research pace !o C(lmpete with USA and China like global powers. .
T be ~·iolent and intimidating txhibitions of masculinity in the garb of extremism can never be a p~rt of our YiSH1lt for Indian society. The violence, communal slogans, gender sensitive comments and rude behn\·ior in the name uf 'm1xalism' 'class struggle' and extremism' have become a regular phenomenon in the vicinity of JNU campus. The campus has become a wrestling ground for competing ideologies trying to influence the ne"' comers with a strategy of ·catch them young'. \Ve warn the all political pets not to drag common student in their communal, naxal and dividing .

Jalandhar, August 5 - The Congress today held a workers rally at Adampur constituency which was led by Former Chief Minister of Punjab, Rajinder Kaur Bhattal.
At the rally venue, candidates in the race for a ticket from the constituency put several of their hoardings seeking support in the coming Assembly elections. Although no senior leader from the stage supported any potential ticket aspirants, yet the leaders tried hard to showcase their strength in the constituency.
Leaders Satnam Kainth, Seth Satpal Mall and Jagdish Jassal put up separate hoardings at the venue along with senior leaders of the Congress. The three leaders are said to be in the race to get the ticket.
Bhattal in her address lambasted the SAD-BJP and the AAP for misguiding the people of Punjab by making hollow promises. She said the Akalis were the only culprits for proliferating the drug business in Punjab. She added that instead of taking action against drug smugglers, the Akalis were patronising them by one way or the other.
She alleged that the present government, which failed to supply eatables to residents, were good in supplying drugs at their doorsteps.
Pertinently, the Congress has been facing defeats in Adampur from the past two terms. In 2007, SAD candidate Sarbjeet Singh Makkar won by scoring 44,883 votes while Congress candidate Kanwaljit Singh Lally scored 34, 643 votes. In 2012, the Congress fielded Satnam Singh Kainth, who then lost to SAD leader Pawan Kumar Tinu by a huge margin of over 19,306 votes. Kainth has been an MLA from Banga in 1992 on BSP ticket.

On 13 'h uf Sc:ptemlx:r JNU Studt:nts will be voting for the new Union and sadly the rhetoric of recounting (false) .
ach~evcments are being hammered into the new students by the ruling left. What has this union achieved despite .
.
havmg the support of the student community for two terms? The AISA-DSF led union has been indulging in .
.
Psephological calculations and group equations in a continuous manner in order to secure votes and this has been .
a common feature since the day of their inception. The past two elections have also seen a marked shift from an .
ideological to a more 'practical' approach towards elections whereby long drawn stmggles based on genuine .
concerns are avoided and group emotions based on utopia are being stoked. .
The current union is adept at gathering votes through c01miving and creating the image of a vote bank in the .
minds of the student community rather than convincing the students' community by placing before them their so .
called ·achievements' whose genuineness can be easily questioned. The half-hearted (yearly) ritualistic drama of .
sit-ins and hunger strikes that began with the academic year failed to achieve anything concrete which led these .
parties claim what NSUI has already achieved as their achievement! A regressive phase of student politics has .

been initiated by these so called forward looking' backward parties, whereby the students are made to suffer to .
satiate the vested political interest of the leaders of these parties. The entire drama of the struggle for MCM and .
for the hostels (the solution to these problems were already achieved by NSUI and pamphlets brought out post .

these achievements) were mainly intended to fool and misguide the students so that their. anger and frustration .
could be exploited in the election. It is a well known fact that after the elections these-parties would go infQ .

students by creating just hue and cry and achieving zero result. These external portr'!yal of int.ellectual capabilities .
of the left parties peed to be questioned in the up.coming. eJections. How is it that such 'morally correct' and .
.
'highly intellectual' parties shamelessly misguide students by their fake:protests and zero achievements? .
What has this union a..::hieved? The 3000 figure fer MCM ha~ been forgotten and made into a utopian dream and .
similarly the struggle for hostels have been postponed (read indefinitely) till elections! .
Even on the issue of gender the union has failed to reach out to female students and address their problems. .
However, this is not unexpected from a pany that supports patriarchy in its stmngholds. Last year in a shocking .

tradition. In other words~ we stand for decolontzation in all spheres of national activ1ty w1th acceptance.,of only those foretgn values wh1ch can further enrtch our tndtgenous cultural core. The ABVP is a nationalist student organtzation which stands for cultural nationalism. Even if the nation 1tself IS a modem phenomenon. as 1s claimed by theorists of nationalism and nation·states the world over, it does derive popular legitimacy from the past. This legitimacy is based on not1ons of past cultural continuity, and shared historical memories and experiences. India being no exception to thiS,we reject the notion that Indian nattonalism was a product merely of the opposition to colonial rule, and that the 'impact·response' model convincingly explains the 'imitation' by a colonized. 'child people' of the political InStitutions of the coloma\ masters. Our nationalism IS ent1rely indigenous to us, and is based on a celebration of the cultural linkages-as also the harmomzation of differences through historical processes of collectivization -that can be traced back to the times of the Vedic culture, the epic tradition, the egalitarian Bhakti Movement, etc. In more recent times, these processes of national collectivization have been carried forward by the contributions of en like Gandhi and Vivekanand. and rganizations like the Arya SamaJ and the RSS The commitment towards the celebration of our national culture would be rendered meaningless if we were to fail to make a s1gntficant contribution to the decolonization of our education system. Our education system IS st1ll based on the colonial model, and can be seen as a direct off-shoot of the colonial state's policy to educate a handful of Indians in western thought. literature etc., with English as the medium of instruction. Th~ aim of this venture was clearly hegemonic : having established political control over India, the colonizers were now seeking to perpetuate the Raj through moral, social and cultural control, through a projection of notions of 'British superionty' which were being sought to be established by the deculturization of Indians through the institutionalization of alien modes and forms of knowledge The knowledge system thus imposed had an epistemologic al basis in the .
'Enlightenment' cltscourse -the dominant intellectual traditton m Europe at that ttme. The categories constructed by thiS European intellectual trad1t1on such as 'progress', 'rationality'. 'scientif1c1ty'. 'secularism'. etc -made their way into lndi.a and have unfortunately become uncontested 'truths' for us. An alternative, ind1genous system of knowledge can be structured only through a questionmg of these .
categories and the constructton of alternative categories, which have ind1genous roots: which are an outcome of a comprehenstve and critical study of our own schools of thought and cultural values. The ABVP stands firmly in favour of any such venture a1med at the indlgentzatton of our education system. .
Related to the questton of education 1s the issue of rewriting history. The initiative of the NDA government to rewrite history textbooks came in for severe criticism at the hands ofthe left. They argued that history was being sought to be 'saffronized' and 'distorted' by the Vajpayee government. So far as the 'saffronization' issue goes, the intellectually colonized cannot appreciate the indigenization ofeducation and are constrained to give negative connotations to it. Where 'distortion' is concerned, any serious scholar of social sciences can understand that history is not a body of factual information but a disctpline based on contesttng approaches to past questions. Any interpretation based on sources and coherently argued can constttute a legitimate approach to the past. But so far as textbooks are concerned. care should be taken not to make them an instrument for the propagation of a particular ideology, least of all an ideology that has no popular support in the country! The earlier NCERT textbooks played precisely this role : they selectively concealed and overemphasized facts calculated to further the political cause of the .
Communists and the Congress, to the total detriment of the Hindutva ideology. That iswhy the Modern India Textbook of Bipan Chandra, which is otherwise obsessed with 'communalism', conveniently omits the important historical evidence regarding support for the Pakistan Movement by the CPI-the mother organization of the CPl. the CPIIM) ar ~ t"~r_,o (1AL) .

The explosive situation in Assam and Manipur shows the utter failure of the UPA government supported by the Communists in handling the s1tuation in the north-eastern states of lnd1a The BJP-Ied NDA government had engaged m constructtve talks with many north-eastern groups through its interlocutor, M Padmanabhtyah, and had signed a historic accord w1th the various factions of the Nagas. The ABVP rejects the SFI-AISF·AISA's politics of ritualistic pre-election hunger strikes which aim at misguiding the freshers. The hostel problem 'suddenly' crops up before every election. only to disappear in the winter semester; the 'anti~ student Administration' is targeted and abused until the hunger strike is finally withdrawn on the Administration's 'assurance' of agreeing with the SFI's demands 'in principle' (as distinct from practice) and hollow promises of initiating .

Just how fair is God's system of justice, really? This article weighs in.
Which Country, College and Course to be finally selected for pursuing graduation in Medical field is the most Important question for all the students to aim to go Abroad for their Medical Graduation. Many students end up taking wrong decisions due to lack of information or bad selection of Consultant or Counsellor, who either misguide them or force them to chose a college or country for their own benefits.
AXIS Institutes of International Educations helps the students to take a wise and rational decision to study abroad. AXIS advice all the Students to seek answers to following :
1)Is the Institute appearing in MCI list of Foreign Medical Insititutes. Please check the website of MCI.
2)Check the name of the Institute in world directory of Medical Schools. It should appear in its website.
3)Check the duration of the Course, most of the recognised courses are 4, 5 & 6 year duration.
4)Number of Indian Students studying in that College. If already Indian Students are doing MBBS from their, they might have checked all the parameter. Try to speak to any of them.
5)Law and order situation of the Country and relation of the country with India.
6)Travel Time and Travel Cost to the Country and Institute from India.
7)VISA rules and time and procedure for VISA for parents or relatives to visit in case of emergency.
8)Availability of Indian Food and Indian Hostels.
If all the answers of above questions are satisfactory, then a student take a wise and rational decision about the course and the country.
However, MBBS from Kyrgyzstan is best option for MBBS studies abroad as it stands positive in answers of all of the above questions and most preferred Institute is “ASIAN MEDICAL INSTITUTE” located in Kyrgyzstan, which provides best MBBS education at lowest possible cost. Journey time from India is just 3 hours and cost of VISA and Travel is lowest.

EXPOSE THE HYPOCRITICAL COMMUNISTS .
.
Friends, The professional liars are at it once again. ·The communist politics of deceit, appeasement, "trea"chery and hypocrisy is in full swing. When the ABVP brought out a pamphlet on 27.9.04 giving some official census figures, the communists came up with a rejoinder overflowing with Bangladeshi infiltration-friendly vote bank pol"itics. The central issue is that a secular state should be concerned about the rising population and its possible consequences in terms of burden on infrastructure and natural resources without basing its policy initiatives on the possible reactions of the religious leaders of a particular community. When the Mullahs are misguiding common Muslims by claiming that family planning is 'un-lslamic', and their communist stooges are busy singing praises of their contributions in AMU agitations, we think it our national duty to counter the propaganda of the Mullah-communist alliance and create a consciousness regarding the dangers of not controlling the growing population. .
THE RECENT 'MOVEMENT' BY SFI-AISF-AISA The ABVP has never believed in propaganda politics and double standards. When the JNUSU was led by .
the ABVP in 2000-01, we facilitated for the student community the much desired railway reservation counter. At that point of time the ABVP strongly agitated for the allotment of the Mahi~Mandavi hostel and got it allotted to the students in the month of March, 2001. The ABVP could have also waited for the elections before agitating for tt:le allotment of the hostel, as was done by the Communists this semester, but our politics is never election-centric. The recent movement of the SFI-AISF-AISA was a total sham. Not only did they sit on a hunger strike for the .
allotment of an already completed hostel, but they also raised-quoting the JNUSU Constitution-the demand for student representatives in the Academic Council, only to withdraw the strike without extracting any commitment on the latter demand from the Administration! We condemn this attempt to hoodwink the JNU students and demand an apology from the SF I-AI SA for being more than 25 years late in raising the de_mand for student representatives in the AC, despite having been in the Union for years at a stretch . . We cautton the students, particularly the freshers, not to be misled by the annual pre-election ritual of hunger stnkes. .
OUR DEMAND FOR THE DISPLAY OF M.PHIL INTERVIEW AND WRITTEN EXAMINATION MARKS .
The ABVP strongly feels that there is a need for larger transparency .in the admission process at the M.Phil!Ph.D level. It is widely believed by a large section of the student community that due to the lack of transparency inherent in the non-declaration of written and viva marks scored by the candidates, the SFI ahd AI SA are able to influence the admission process by stealth in connivance with their sympathizers sitting as faculty members and are able to get admrtted many of their undeserving activists. The ABVP would like to promise the student community that if it wins the union election, it would take up the transparency issue and ensure the declaration of both written and viva marks as its top priority. .
GEELANIISSUE .
The anti-national, sectarian and divisive mindset of the communists in the campus became clear when they invited a suspected terrorist like Geelani -who proclaims that he will fight till1he last drop of his blood for the freedom of Kashmir from the Union of India -to the campus. Law abiding as they are, the students of JNU cannot tolerate the presence of a person who openly rejects the constitutional emphasis on the territorial integrity of India. Friends, we urge you to give a befitting reply in the forthcoming JNUSU elections to the SFI & AISA, and su"pport a nationalist alternative in the form of the ABVP. .

Unite Against Naxal/Maoist Terrorism!!! .
15th October 2009 .
Friends, 13/10/2009 The beheading of a police inspector Francis Induwar in Jharkhand was closely followed by gruesome killings of seventeen policemen in Maharashtra. Naxal-Maoist elements have been striking at their will and even with impunity. The brutal manner in which these killings have been carried out exposes the inhuman and barbaric aspects of communism as an ideology. Claiming to wage a war against the Indian state, Naxal-Maoists today hold sway in about 180 districts across ten states of India accounting for about 40 percent of India's geographical area. They are especially concentrated in an area known as the "Red corridor" extending from Nepal borders to Andhra Pradesh (euphemistically, from Pasupati to Tirupati), where they control 92,000 square kilometers. In the recent years they have been arming themselves with latest weaponry and arsenal and consolidating their position by gaining new areas and recruits. Moreover they are extorting huge amount on account of levies and other form of extortions. They run their own kangaroo courts intimidating and punishing their opponents in the rural areas and thus exercising illegal control over the rural population. In fact they have been able to run parallel governments in a vast region. Many such instances have taken place in other Naxal-infested states. Until recently, before being pronounced as one of the most serious threats to the internal security of the country, Maoism was mostly downplayed by various actors of civil society including the media, irrespective of a higher death toll and the gruesome lynching of men as compared to other acts of violence. The list of martyred security men, which is read out on every 21st October (on Shaheed Diwas) is growing longer. Fearing the governments more focused approach now, Naxalites are trying to spread waves of terror once again. Whenever their senior cadre are arrested or killed in exchange of fire or their very existence is challenged, they take recourse to brutality. Inspector Hemant Mandawi of Jagargunda Police Station was killed when he was assisting the villagers repair an interior road in order to restore public transport. His feet were severed, as the Naxals wanted his shoes. In another incident, Central Paramilitary Force (CPMF) personnels eyes were smashed with sharp weapons and hands cut to remove wrist watches. In the village of Kudur in Bastar district, policemen were ambushed with Claymore mines and then charred to death. In Ranibodli in March 2007, one of the rooms of the police camp was bolted from outside by the Maoists, and petrol bombs thrown inside towards the unaware, off-duty police personnel. Some escaping security men were targeted from tree tops, killing a total of 55 police officers including 36 Special Police Officers (SPOs). As if this couldnt pacify the Naxals quest for sadism, they laid down Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) all around the building to hinder even the evacuation of casualties. The charred bodies of the SPOs, who were all local residents of surrounding villages, could not be recognized even by their kin. Similarly, when a Chhattisgarh Electricity Board (CGEB) party was on its way to repair a blown up high tension tower near the dreaded Zhara Ghatee of Narayanpur, its truck was blown up with an 80 kg plus IED, killing 3 civilians. The explosion was so intense that various pieces of their bodies had to be gathered from as far as 300 meters. These were handed over to their families in bag-shaped folded bed sheets, without us even knowing whether they belong to the same person or not. The law of the jungle applies to the public as well. On-the-spot killings of civilians in the name of dispensing quick justice in jan adalats (public court) is an old-fashioned governance style of the Maoists. Tying hands behind and beheading with sharp weapons is the Maoists favoured method. Showing disrespect to dead bodies is routine. Killing men and tying hidden IEDs to their dead bodies is yet another ploy to misguide the police and invite them to the scene of crime for inquest, leading to more explosions and more casualties. Many seized documents have clearly shown that the birth of Salwa Judums (meaning peace march) in June 2005 in South Bastar infuriated the Naxalites. The villagers were forced to flee due to continuous attacks and escalating fear. The state government, realising its constitutional obligations, promptly responded and created rehabilitation camps to provide people with basic amenities. Though Salwa Judum came up as a self-motivated peoples movement in a response to the Naxalite atrocities, it was soon dubbed as a state-sponsored move. This is a well thought out propaganda by the Naxalites to malign the government. Quite a few times, the Naxalites have dared to attack even the rehabilitation camps. Though most of such attacks have been foiled by the police force, yet an attack on Errabore Rehabilitation Camp (situated on the national highway), left more than 30 killed and many .

JNU DRAMA FESTIVAL 2008 .
12'h Aug, 2008 .
Friends. .
NSUI would like to invite the attention of student community towards the annual drama festival that is going on in the theatre of Ad. Block. Scripted by a vicious and malicious plot and enacted by the impuissant juvenile comrades of AISA and SFI who are fighting with their heart and soul to gain the best drama a~:vard of 2008. However this year's edition of the August drama is just a continuation of the political farce played out in the name of apology drama last year. The actors are the same; the manipulative undercurrents are the same only the year is different. Friends, NSUI has repeatedly pointed out the anomalies and irregularities in the 2008 admission policy right .
from its forming stage. If the irregularities in the admission policy and process are there, then none other than left-led-JNUSU is to be held .
responsible for their misconduct, misinterpretation and misguidance of the student community in the campus. Ever since the Supreme Court of India vacated the stay on 27% OBC reservation in higher educational institutions NSUI has strongly demanded the full .
implementation of it in our university but unfortunately our JNU administration has been trying to water down the UPA government's inclusive reservation policy through various kinds of manipulation and conspiracy with the full support of AISA-Ied-JNUSU. This has become obvious when the Ministry of Human Resources Development rejected the initial guidelines brought out by JNU Academic .
Council with regard to the implementation of 013C reservation in this year's admissions. The subsequent meeting of Academic Council has reviewed its early proposal and decided to have a stage by stage implementation of OBC reservation and seat increase on the basis of 2006 as a Base Year. When all this was happening the JNUSU President and his lieutenants were enjoying their cup of tea and giving big 'ls with the administration the red stooges are now round ofapplause to the administration. After signing all their clandestine and dirty deaout with their manipulative third rate drama unpalatable to any human consciousness on this earth. The whole administrative mess that has brought the admission process under a serious cloud ofsuspicion and cynicism is the result of the farcical rotten underhand deals that the .
casteist comrades have entered into "'ith a retrogressive. inefficienr and callously indifferent administration. Friend's. this drama is nothing .
but an attempt to divert attention from the catastrophic failure ofJNUSU to address the burning concerns of the student community. NSUI strongly demands that the betrayers of the student community should show at least some principles of political morality at this stage and .
step down from their positions and call for an urgenr UGBMto reestablish the lost sanctity of the JNUSU .
\Ve demand A High Level Committee be setup so that a comprehensive and impartial inquiry can be hr ld regarding the flaws and .
l irregularities that have crept into the ad mission process. .
2. To fulfill the quotas ofOBC, Pll SC&ST without any delay. .
Immediate expansion ofinfrastructure development so as to facilitate the proposed 54% scat increase. .

The SFI-AISF condemns in strongest possible terms the infiltration and indiscriminate firing by 2-3terrorist in Akshar Dham Temple, Gandhinagar in which six persons have been killed, 40 injured andanother hundred expose to life threatening condition within the premise of the temple as per thelatest reports available on News Channel. The army has moved in and all efforts need to be made to.
prevent any further casualty of innocent people. We urge upon all to remain vigilant and maintainpeace and communal harmony in the face of such provocation. .

ABVP-the organisation which has time and again exposed itself as an organisation of lumpens and communal,.
caste1st and patriarchal elements, has once again embarke:i upon rabidly misleading campaigns among the studentcommunity They have been shamelessly absent from all legitimate democratic activities of the JNUSU throughout the year.
-be it the UGBM on 27.2.02, the 4-day long strike on the Xth Plan and the JNUSU charter of demands in April-2002, the.
struggle against the deliberate delay in the appointment of JNU's Vice-Chancellor by the HRD Ministry, or the numerousprotests. processions and demonstrations against the JNU Administration throughout the last and this semester..
True to the nature of therr ancestors and bosses from the RSS-BJP who have always played the role of saboteurs.
and disrupters of the united struggles of the common Indian people, right from the days of the freedom struggle where the.
RSS supported the British and the likes of A.B. Vajpayee wrote submissive letters to the British Courts; to the Emergency.
where their leaders wrote letters apology to Indira Gandhi from jail; to the present times where the BJP-Ied NDA government.
represents nothing but the unapologetic loot and plunder of the country's resources through successive scams and the.
state-sponsored spread of communal violence and ideology among the people of our country; the ABVP, too, has not.
missed out on even a single chance to try and disrupt the unity of the student community against the onslaught of anti-.
student policies of privatisation and saffronisation of education..
In the last semester, just a day after the UGBM on the X Plan proposals where students unanimously.
condemned the killing of 59 people in the Sabarmati Express in Godhra and the JNUSU brought out a silent march to.
condemn the brutal killings, the ABVP brought out an extremely provocative and communal procession in the campus and.
completely exposed their barbaric and violent character before the student community. They even went to the extent of.
shouting abuses outs1de of houses of faculty members belonging to the minority community. They again opposed the.
movement by the JNUSU against the delay by the HRD-Ministry in appointing a long overdue Vice-Chancellor to JNU,.
thereby, showing their connivance with the politically motivated designs of their RSS-BJP bosses in the government against.
JNU. In this semester, they indulged rn the most brazen attack on the JNUSU office bearers and girl students on the nightof lOu. August. 2002, at the behest of their VHP-Ieader Ashok Singhal, who has been spreading communal venom rndifferent parts of our country. Subsequently, the councilors from SES deliberately absented thE:mselves 'from three.
successive Council Meetrngs called on 21/8/02. 25/8/02 and 5/9/02 in order to consciously prevent any formal councilmeeting from taking place on the 1ssue of violence and saffronisation-privatisation of JNU through the X Plan proposals..
However, 1t is to the credit of the student community of JNU, that inspite of all these disruptive efforts by the ABVP.
on campus, the students of JNU have time and again risen in defense of our secular culture under the banner of the JNUSU.
and united to build democratic students' movements against anti-student policies and measures. The bankrupt policies and.
ideology of the ABVP stands completely exposed before the student community today, and it is only in order to hide their.
complete inactivity and isolation among the common students of JNU that the ABVP is now desperately trying to create.
imaginary enemies out of institutions like the GSCASH and do shadow-boxing against "imagined" statements allegedlyrepeating the same hes about GSCASH members who were not present in the JNUSU Public Meetrng or who did not speak .
made by GSCASH members. Such crude attempts to spread confusion among the student community by successivelyin the same would even put Hitler's propaganda minister Goebbles to shame. We warn the ABVP against taking the.
consciousness of the student community for granted. Such diversionary tactics cannot hide the fact that the ABVP hasbeen completely rnact1ve on students' 1ssues on campus except for occasrons of inciting or indulgrng in violence orspreading communal-patriarchal and reactionary ideology among the student community. While the ABVP understandably cannot understand the significance of the advances made by the recent JNUSUagitation against the saffronisation-pnvat1sat1on of JNU through the X Plan Proposals and on several other issues like theMahi-Mandavi Mess. better library-internet facilities, scholarships, transportation etc., the opportunism of organizations like.
the NSUI or AISA tn trying to misguide the student commun1ty about the recent JNUSU agitation shows the extent to which.
these organizations are prepared to go to undermine the gains made by the student community for scoring narrow politicalpoints. The NSUI has comfortably forgotten its absence from all struggles led by the JNUSU for the last several years andis now trying to apologise for its absence from the JNUSU agitation for the umpteenth time by calling this agitation an.
'" .
election gimmick. The NSUI, 1s effectively strengthening the: hands of the ABVP on campus, as it has done in the recentDUSU elections in Delhi University. The AISA on the other hand, participated in the agitation but has started its old refrain.
of "compromises" and "betrayals'' .
by the JNUSU. We would advise the AISA to behave more responsibly in the face of the.

serious attacks by the forces of obscurantism and communalism. We would also advise the AISA not to trivialise the.

significant achievements made by the JNUSU in the fight against saffronisation and refrain from confusing the studentcommunity through the Jugglery of semantics and semiotics. The SFI-AISF once again congratulates the JNUSU for launching a determined agitation against saffronisation and.

YFE stands for Peace, Equality, Development and National Integrity. YFE is committed to fight against every violence activity; discriminatory policy of politicians to enhance Inequality; and political stunts trying to break communal hannony of the society. YFE slams the act of violence and intimidation in Lohit hostel by an ABVP activist and appeals to the student community to maintain the harmonious atmosphere in .
our campus. YFE is continuously raising voice against increasing violence in our campus. Whether it is the detention of Registrar or fatal attack on Sumit, an YFE activist with a stony weapon, by an AISA activist or the recent violence thrashing fellow resident by an ABVP activist, all are extremely black blots on the JNU prestige. In stead of taking genuine students issues, all political parties are competing to divert the common students to fake and illogicalissues indicating their frustration and bankruptcy. The fatal physical act on 5th October by an ABVP activist thrashing a fellow resident is pretty shameful and highly condemnable event. We demand to take strict action against him. In stead of being more active and strict against such issues, the administration is very casual over repeated incidents of violence that had increased confidence among the mongers of violence and a deep sense of fear and insecurity among the campus residents. We seek justice as earliest as possible. .
YFE warns ABVP to avoid such violent, aggressive and communalistic attitude which can never be suitable to maintain National integrity further it wi II be the biggest hurdle in national development. Unite Against Naxal/Maoist Terrorism!!! jnuabvp.blogspot.fr/ .
Naxalites are trying to spread waves of terror once again. Though most of such attacks have been foiled by the police force, yet an attack on Errabore Rehabilitation Camp (situated on the national highway), left more than 30 killed and many injured. The fact is that the Naxalites were shaken by the increasing strength of the Salwa Judum and its commitment to re-establish peace in the area. The spurt of violence is due to the retaliation by the Naxalites in the face of the rising popularity of Salwa Judum, which led them to intimidate people so that they do not ever raise their heads. Presently, there are about 3,000 SPOs, who assist security forces in the maintenance of order in Naxal-infested areas. These SPOs have played an important role in breaking and weakening the network of the Naxalites. Naxalites brutality has not even spared the families of the SPOs. Many SPOs have been killed, only to discourage them from associating with the police. Since 2002, scores of policemen and civilians have been killed by the naxalites, and the number of such brutal killings is drastically increased in recent years. This further strengthens the fact that the Maoists were afraid of the peoples resistance groups which had rejected their ideology in their own stronghold. The attacks on schools, panchayats, hospitals, rehabilitation camps and ashram buildings have unravelled their hollow talk of development. They are even opposed to developmental works. Schemes like Jantana Sarkaar are being propagated only to hide their ugly face, smeared with cold blood. A country which was built on the edifice of non-violence cannot accept the ideology of armed struggle for class annihilation. Such mindless brutal killings by the Maoists must act as a wake-up call for civil society. .

Comrade Dipankar. Following the success of this rally, the administration in collusion with ruling parties has unleashed a campaign of state terror against our party, attempting to frame leaders in false cases and link CPI(ML) with ISI and Maoists. (See Box for the latest serious conspiracy to discredit the party and unleash repression) .
Police Conspiracy In Garhwa.
As we go to press, police in Garhwa has falsely tried to implicate CPI(ML) in a Maoist blast in the area. .
On 21 January 2012, an agitation by local villagers demanding the shifting of the proposed site of a health centre was being led by elected mukhiya and CPI(ML) activist Ramdas Minz, at Barga village in Bhandaria block in Garhwa district. The police arrested Comrade Ramdas Minz during the agitation, but the protest continued, blockading the road with the demand that the Bhandaria BDO meet them and address their grievance. .
Comrade Sushma Mahto, elected Zila Parishad Chairperson and well-known local leader of the CPI(ML) was coming from Garhwa by car to the protest site, along with CPI(ML)s Jharkhand State Committee member Comrade Akhtar Ansari. .
A land mine blast by Maoists in the same area claimed the lives of several policemen, though the BDOs car, apparently on the way to meet the agitating villagers, passed safely. When Comrade Sushmas vehicle approached the area, the Maoists stopped the car and snatched the gun from Comrade Sushmas bodyguard. Comrade Sushma, her bodyguard Sunesh Ram, CPI(ML) State Committee member Comrade Akhtar Ansari, and the driver of the car, Ahmed, were abducted by the Maoists. .
Alarmingly, instead of making efforts to rescue the abducted CPI(ML) leaders and others, the Jharkhand police are falsely implicating the CPI(ML) in the landmine blast, alleging that the roadblock and protest were being held by the party as a ploy to lure the policemen into the Maoist trap. Several of our activists, including Comrade Ramdas Minz, elected mukhiya from the CPI(ML), are being tortured in police custody. The DGP of Jharkhand in a press conferennce, refused to acknowledge that Sushma Mahto and other CPI(ML) leaders have been abducted! The Maoists however, reportedly acknowledged the abduction and made some demands in exchange for release of the hostages. .
The police and local administration have for some time now, launched an all-out drive to falsely implicate the CPI(ML) leaders and discredit the party, to crush the growing assertion of the party in Garhwa. .
The Maoists are known for their attacks on democratic activists and leaders prominent instances in Jharkhand include the killing of Comrade Mahendra Singh in Bagodar and social activist Niyamat Ansari in Garhwa. .
In this instance too, they have not only abducted CPI(ML) leaders including an elected woman panchayat leader, their actions have also provided fodder for the police ploy to intensify repression on democratic movements in the region. .
On 19 December 2011, a Jan Akrosh rally was organised at Deori (Giridih), with impressive mobilisation of rural poor including considerable sections of minority and tribal people along with women. The rally was addressed by Comrades Satya Narayan Das, Osman Ansari, J P Verma and Comrade Dipankar among many others. The rally was a befitting reply to AJSU/JVMs attempts to misguide the people of the Jamua Assembly area. .
On 22 December 2011, an impressive rally was organised at Dumka to observe Santhal Pargana Divas (anniversary of the date when the British were forced to form a separate district here). The majority of the participants were poor tribals of Santhal background, half of whom were women. .
From 25 December 2011 to 10 January 2012, the Party organised an intensive Padayatra (march on foot) in Giridih in four assembly segments -Bagodar, Rajdhanwar, Jamua and Gandey. The campaign focused on the betrayal of peoples aspirations by all state governments of Jharkhand, and on peoples rights, including ration cards, other rural development, land, democratic rights and dignity. .
The entire party leadership from block to district to the state, including the partys MLA, was the core force which led this Padayatra in four regions. The Padayatra would begin with a core force of 50200 people, accompanied by a section of people from every village that was crossed. When the Padayatra had covered the entire Panchayat, the mobilisation would reach between 500-3000 people. At the borders of the next Panchayat, at least 100 to 200 people would wait, welcoming the padayatra, and there the people of former Panchayat would bid goodbye to the yatra (journey). Except for a brief break for lunch in some village, the yatra used to continue for 10 hours at a stretch. The leading comrades including Comrades Manoj Bhakt, Vinod Singh, Rajkumar Yadav, and Rajesh Yadav, walked nearly 400 km on an average in 10 days. .
The Padayatra turned into a virtual festival of the people, decked with the red flag and with the traditional cultural touch of drums, nagara, madal etc. The campaign culminated in the Sankalp Sabha on 16 January 2012 .

Before shredding holes into the paper collages to emulate the loss of memory that occurs over time, misplacing and misguiding individuals to misinterpret past events, i photographed all 8 collages individually. I also layered the acetate (see-through) collages to try to get a feel for the ordering of the collages in it’s eventual booklet format, testing to see which ordering would best enhance the peek-a-boo element that is fundamental structure and theme behind the final piece.

times be~rayed the student's moven1ent of this campus in front of the administration. This campus has .
been burted ~eneath the avalanche of their inadequacies for the past three years. .
Most unportantly AISA led JNUSU has been a complete failure in the proper implementation of .
27o/o OBC reservation in admissions and also was unable to check the intake of SC/ST/PH students in .
vario·~s ~cnte1~. Their annual drama of hunger strike for these demands usually ends in compromises and .
negotlattons With the administration. Recently when the so called progressive intellectuals of this country .
expressed their resentment towards SC/ST/OBC/PH reservations for the faculty posts in the Academic .
Council meeting in a highly casteist and JNUSU was the last entity to register a protest. They became .
meek and silent before their ideologues when such important constitutional provisions were openly defied .
by the regressive anti reservation forces. Their so called commitment towards social justice was openly .
ex posed during this issue. .
Moreover. AlSA led JNUSU was a complete failure in resolving issues like removing electric meters .
from Koyna hostel: implementation of 24*7 health facility, hike in prospectus fee, commercialization of .
IHA. etc. In spite of their claims of revolutionary tactics they resorted to negotiations and compromises .
and betrayed studenrs interests in these issues. When the administration rusticated many activists of the .
left during the agitation against hike in prospectus fee they openly diverted the course of the struggle to .
withdraw their rustication and finally submitted their apoiogies. Such naked display of slavery and .
impuissance will not be tolerated in a politically vibrant campus like JNU. We appeal to the student .
community of JNU to overthrow such a burden on our campus. We have to restore the sanctity of JNUSU .
by rejecting the extension of this i1nmoral and anti student AISA led JNUSU. .
THE ROAD AHEAD: STARTING ELECTION PROCESS JS THE ONLY SOLUTION .
NSUI appeals to the students to ensure a democratic culture we need elections not .
extensions. Extension of tenure by illegal means is the characteristic feature of Communist totalitarian .
forces. The} have no value for democracy and during these three years have left no stone unturned to .
hang on to power. Now that AISA has understood that students will not support extensions they have .
come out of their shells saying that they don t want extension [which they had been practicing since the .
last two years]. Better late than never!!!! .
Today the communists of JNU are shouting that they want to approach the Hon'bl Supreme Court for interim relief to lift the ban on JNUSU Elections according to our constitution. But wi!J they tell us why they were spreading panic and misinformation in the campus. On one hand AISA was not coming clear and on the other hand SFI and other communists were saying that they don~t bother about the Supreme Court stay and were ready to suffer any crackdown after the contemp. We wou]d like to ask them what happened to their idea of going against the court. We strongly condemn SFI's false campaign to misguide students in the name of election and their revolutionary clain1s of challenging the Indian constitution. If the devotees of mass murderers like Mao. Stalin, PolPot etc had the guts to challenge the Supreme Court then what slopped them from doing so two years ago? An elected JNUSU is the demand of our times and it is the imperative to fight the anti student administration. We are facing a grave predicament which is restricting us from our basic necessities for higher education; social justice and accessibility of infrastructure. Only a legitimate JNUSU can stand against the administration in this struggle. .
We appeal to the student community to deliberate on this predicament. We suggest that elections should be held in campus as soon as possible. We have to continue our fight against the Lyngdoh committee recommendations and to uphold our JNUSU constitution. Right now the case is referred to a constitution bench and it wjll take at least three four years to get the verdict. So we assert that the most feasible ''ay is to start taking steps towards holding elections by dissolving JNUSU (illegally extended) and con~tituting ECs. Not holding elections will depoliticize the can1pus and wilJ alienate the student community from larger issues of this campus. We appeal the student community to participate in today's UGBI'vf in large numbers and express their views on this issue. .
